Everyone who works here is kind. There are no rude workers there are smiles on faces, when you ask a question you get answers with a staff that actually seems to care. Even when you drive up to on arrival there is something different in the air that says you are going to be taken care of at Gainsville Regional Airport and that's a fantastic feeling. Normally I fly out of Orlando because I usually have to transfer to another flight when I go to Gainesville but since I need a shuttle to Orlando the time isn't much different and this is such a better experience to me. The price is higher but they do send out information for lower flights that you can take advantage of and can be worthwhile. Personally I'd highly recommend flying out of Gainesville for a nice enjoyable experience. I am looking forward to doing it soon again! I have dropped people off here before, but have never used this airport…read more I am traveling with Breeze Airways, and I have to tell you that it was a breeze going through check-in and security. I got in line, used the QR code to check in, waited about 15 minutes, as the line moved along with deliberate speed. Got to the counter, showed my Real ID driver's license, she made a joke, and we both laughed. Even though everything is electronic, she printed a paper copy of my boarding pass. Walked through the airport a bit, and passed up the huge row of rocking chairs (maybe about 60 of them) in the middle of the breezeway. Nice! Got to the TSA and did not have to take my shoes off! Finally, got back to sanity! Put my stuff in the huge bin, walked through the scanner. The guard had to check my wrists and arms, because I have a Dot.com bracelet on for my Instagram, so it probably set off a light or two. Easy peasy, got my stuff and headed to my gate for a seat. I have to say that was the fastest I have ever gotten through an airport from being dropped off. The whole process took about 35 minutes! Wow!

I actually enjoy the lounge and the options offered even if they are limited. Depending on the hour and the terminal you can also get a decent selection of last minute shopping done too. Pro-tip: If you can travel in or out of terminal C it feels like an entirely different airport hence the 4 stars. However, if you have checked luggage be prepared to wait for hours possibly for your bags. Get TSA and/or Global Entry if you travel often through this airport.

He is using our Air Taxi service for a legal matter at a nearby courthouse. The Williston airport terminal building is very nice, has all the usual amenities needed to service aircraft such as fuel, pilot lounge, free coffee, and lobby with HD TV. Plus, there's even a restaurant next door called Pyper Kup Restaurant. The manager tells me the restaurant draws many weekend fliers looking for a place to fly to, The people who run the place are friendly, offer a great service to their community. Plus, the aviation gasoline for my plane is very inexpensive- $3.71/gallon. I'm paying $5.40 in Miami. If you fly, or need to get to someplace in Northwestern Florida. Williston is a great choice.

There are only 6 gates in this single terminal and I just love how bright and airy it is. There is a small cafe that opens a little after 4am called Sugar Mill Cafe, just after you pass through TSA checkpoint. Picking up my luggage from baggage claim was a breeze and their carts were free - no need to pay for a SmarteCarte here. Overall, really great airport that's easy to navigate. I had an early morning flight and it was nice and peaceful. Also, I really enjoyed the music they played in the terminal during the morning hours: Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Erroll Garner, Paul Mauriat, etc.

There simply isn't enough traffic to maintain airline lounges or too many restaurants. That's all fine and dandy. What's not great is the one restaurant they do have in this airport. It struggles to handle the demands during any modestly busy times. I watched with disappointment as they forgot my order. Accidents happen, and I truthfully wasn't too mad or unpleasant about it. I requested an update on my order after about 30 minutes of waiting and it took them another 5 minutes or so to finish. Apparently, my experience wasn't unique. This is fine, stuff happens. But then the staff chose to talk trash about me for no reason. I'm still confused because I genuinely wasn't rude in the slightest to them.

Arriving at 5:00 AM for a 7:05 AM flight, we walked into total chaos. A shortage of ticket agents created huge lines, with staff agents resorting to shouting out specific destinations every few minutes to pull panicking passengers forward whose flights were actively boarding.Between check-in delays and an unsympathetic TSA officer at security, we nearly missed our plane. All the major, and even economy, airlines sadly left. But you can still book a helicopter ride or if you have a friend who flies, they likely keep their small plane here! There are also a couple flight academies here. Attached, but not accessible while waiting for a flight, is a restaurant, Hangar One Bistro. Will definitely be giving it a try one of these days. Also if you're in the area you can rent from Avis, Hertz, and Enterprise here. Worth a visit, I hope someday they have a national carrier flying out of here! Don't hate JAX, but can't beat NFRA!
