It's a fairly easy airport to navigate and typically get in and out of on any given day. There are solid restaurant and shop choices while you wait. The bad: There's less direct flights than you would find at other Florida airports like Orlando or Tampa. On a recent visit, we were going away for 5 days, and wanted to park in economy parking. We used the website, saw that it was only at 85% capacity, arrived very early, saw open spots in economy parking but all of the lots were shut down. We had to move to short term which is much more expensive and there's zero guidance as to where parking is available and the guidance given is wrong. This made for an en extremely stressful experience trying to make our flight. I can't imagine how tough it must have been for those flying out later that day.

But at 2 am, staff required everyone - without warning - to walk past the train, go outside, and then proceed down a long maze of ramps. We then boarded a bus and waited, until we were ultimately instructed to get off the bus, walk back up the ramps and around to the train that in fact was working and had just pulled away. We did not discern an apology or explanation, despite the fact that a family member already had difficulty walking. Hopefully just a late-night glitch, but you may want to be prepared during renovations.

Unfortunately, I didn't have time on my trip to enjoy a lot of what makes Orlando unique and special. I flew on American Airlines and found myself flying in and out of Terminal B, Airside 3. It was easy to navigate between the gates, baggage claim, and shuttle pick-up area. Unlike friends who absolutely hate flying, I enjoy the travel experience, especially when using some helpful tools like CLEAR, Global Entry/TSA Pre-Check, airport lounge membership, and airline status, most of which I was able to enjoy during my Orlando visit. When checking in, I typically have been able to skip the check-in area if I didn't need to check bags (as I checked in online) though this time, I checked in at the priority area for assistance and checking bags. I then went to the Terminal B check-in and used Global Entry and CLEAR (or TSA Pre-Check Touchless) to skip most of the line at Security while keeping my shoes on (thanks to an American Express Platinum card which comes with credits for both). Orlando's Terminal B offers multiple airline lounges including The Club MCO, Delta Sky Club, United Club, and Admirals Club. While the AMEX Platinum (or Priority Pass) provide access for entry to The Club MCO (when flying any airline) and the Delta Sky Club (when flying Delta), they weren't near my gate, and I wasn't flying Delta. Rather, my gate was right next to the Admirals Club, which I also had access to. After a short wait, I was able to enjoy that lounge. I wrote a separate review about my experience there, which was quite positive. Upon arriving and picking up my luggage, which had a bit of a wait, my colleague and I headed to Ground Transportation to take advantage of the Mears Shuttle to one of the hotels in the area. I then took rideshare to get back to the airport, and I was dropped off right outside of the check-in area for all of the Terminal B airlines. I also found the tram was easy to get on and off and to navigate between my gate and baggage claim. I have no idea when I plan to be back in Orlando again but I would certainly welcome the chance to fly through the Orlando International Airport again.

He is using our Air Taxi service for a legal matter at a nearby courthouse. The Williston airport terminal building is very nice, has all the usual amenities needed to service aircraft such as fuel, pilot lounge, free coffee, and lobby with HD TV. Plus, there's even a restaurant next door called Pyper Kup Restaurant. The manager tells me the restaurant draws many weekend fliers looking for a place to fly to, The people who run the place are friendly, offer a great service to their community. Plus, the aviation gasoline for my plane is very inexpensive- $3.71/gallon. I'm paying $5.40 in Miami. If you fly, or need to get to someplace in Northwestern Florida. Williston is a great choice.

There simply isn't enough traffic to maintain airline lounges or too many restaurants. That's all fine and dandy. What's not great is the one restaurant they do have in this airport. It struggles to handle the demands during any modestly busy times. I watched with disappointment as they forgot my order. Accidents happen, and I truthfully wasn't too mad or unpleasant about it. I requested an update on my order after about 30 minutes of waiting and it took them another 5 minutes or so to finish. Apparently, my experience wasn't unique. This is fine, stuff happens. But then the staff chose to talk trash about me for no reason. I'm still confused because I genuinely wasn't rude in the slightest to them.

The TSA security agent was very friendly and helpful by having my wife take our pet out of the travel carrier and he even reached out a pet our little Lilly. Arriving at 5:00 AM for a 7:05 AM flight, we walked into total chaos. A shortage of ticket agents created huge lines, with staff agents resorting to shouting out specific destinations every few minutes to pull panicking passengers forward whose flights were actively boarding.Between check-in delays and an unsympathetic TSA officer at security, we nearly missed our plane. All the major, and even economy, airlines sadly left. But you can still book a helicopter ride or if you have a friend who flies, they likely keep their small plane here! There are also a couple flight academies here. Attached, but not accessible while waiting for a flight, is a restaurant, Hangar One Bistro. Will definitely be giving it a try one of these days. Also if you're in the area you can rent from Avis, Hertz, and Enterprise here. Worth a visit, I hope someday they have a national carrier flying out of here! Don't hate JAX, but can't beat NFRA!
