A friend wanted me to try Filipino styled bubble tea and took me here. The shop is a hidden gem that you wouldn't notice it if you weren't paying attention. Inside the shop, there are seating areas for you to socialize with your friends and family. I can see it being a very cozy spot in the winter with a hot drink in hand. I'm by no means a bubble tea aficionado. To me, many of the good BBT spots in the city all taste more or less the same, so take my reviews with a grain of salt. What I do like about Tsaa is it's not just a tea shop. It offers all kinds of weird things (case in point: it actually offers Filipino dishes like pancit, lumpia and bistek). My favourite non-BBT offerings are still drinks though. I like: - Sago't gulaman: This is a Filipino dessert which I guess could be the Filipino version of BBT if BBT was mostly "bubble" and the "tea" was syrup-infused shaved ice. I love how Tsaa's sago't gulaman is better than most out there because their sago/tapioca is really fresh. - Papaya Slush: I don't get why more places don't offer papaya drinks. It's super refreshing, has a unique taste, and isn't overly sweet. You can also add tapioca to it for a BBT feel. Tsaa is run by the friendliest people. Family-run place on the Danforth with incredible desserts! Been coming here for years but just discovered their homemade yema cakes. They're not super sweet, and they're so fresh and light. The icing is Filipino-style, so not too sugary. Tried the ube-flavoured one and I'll definitely be back for the other flavours! Goes perfectly with tea and I don't think you can find this cake anywhere else in Toronto! Also, since I'm writing this in COVID times, you should know that this small business is really doing things right: they are wearing masks, they have Plexiglass at the counter, and when the weather isn't too cold, they prop the door open to circulate the fresh air. I came by here with my boyfriend and we had a really good experience. The tea shop is a bit on the small side but it's super cute. The man working at the tea shop (I think he's the owner) was very nice and kind. The tea shop features a lot of gluten free snack items and they have lots of desserts, teas and bubble teas. How I LOVE little quaint cafes where I can sit in a comfy chair and people watch, while sipping on a hot cup of chocolate/tea/coffee. Tsaa is pronounced "Cha" or "Cha-ah"; it's how Filipinos say tea. This lovely tea shop (which also serves hot chocolate, coffee and other drinks) is run by the hard working Ramos family. Hospitality is first and foremost in their business: you can tell by the way they greet you with a genuine smile, bring your drinks to your table, bake their scones in house (not hard and crumbly but light with the texture of a biscuit), and lovingly create their delicious and fresh food in their small kitchen. There are tempting displays of organic vegan desserts from The Earth Organic and Dufflet Pasteries. Behind the desserts are over 100 different kinds of tea (they can special order a tea for you). Along the opposite wall is a colorful collection of tea pots and coffee presses. There's even an electric fireplace to add to the charm. I had the smoked salmon bagel which turned out to be a full blown sandwich: smoked salmon, cream cheese, tomato, cucumber, avocado, havarti cheese on a toasted bagel. The sandwich was so flavorful and very satisfying. I also had a small butternut squash soup which was thick and savoury. My husband enjoyed his chai tea along with a cheese and chive scone and a tiny bowl of lentil soup; both soups were made in house. I'll have to come back to try their tempting halo halo dessert where they add ube ice cream, pinipig (similar to rice crispies), and leche flan (custard). Cute little shop near Chester subway station that my beau have not been to for years. This place is run by a family and I love that they sell Sweets from the Earth products!! I saw the Yelp sticker at the front and immediately checked in and earned a 5% discount! Every bit helps! Great place for groups of 2 to bond over a beverage or sweet treat. There are 10 two-seaters. They kindly gave us a glass of water without being asked. Friendly family! Interesting enough, they also sell this aloe Vera gel that my mom highly recommend for dry skin. Small world. Their butternut squash soup was very good! Warning though, any translation less than $10 will incur a 25 cents charge if you pay with debit or credit card. Paying in cash will save this trouble. Chilled Apple Sencha Tea ($2.95) half sweetened with honey served in a half pint glass made me felt like I am drinking beer. My tea was delivered to my table..while I was busy checking in with my Yelp App using their WIFI..talking about services! Came in because we saw the chalk sign outside that said crepes. Ended up getting a scone, since the crepe flavours are pretty standard (ham and cheese, banana, maple syrup etc.). I got the blueberry scone--it's made with all purpose flour (unfortunately no whole wheat options) big blueberries, and some caramelized sugar bits on the bottom. I'm surprised that the texture is as fluffy as a pancake-- it's soft on the inside and crusty on the outside. There's an overwhelming amount of tea choices! I ordered the passion fruit bubble tea with tapioca pearls, and it was quite delicious. If you check-in on yelp, you receive a 5% discount. The large size came to about 7$, which is a bit pricey, but treat yourself! I love this tea shop! Tsaa is a lovely shop on the Danforth that offers a great variety of loose-leaf quality teas (premium, organic, artisan, rare & bubble tea). You will find interesting tea flavours like apple sencha, Belgian chocolate rooibos, and mint chocolate to name a few. You can have your tea steeped by the cup or get a full pot, make a tea latte or have your tea iced. Either way, it's delicious and very healthy! As for the bubble tea, they come in flavours such as mango, lychee, coconut, avocado and more. Tsaa also offers breakfast, sandwiches, cookies, bars, truffles, tarts etc. You can find pastries here that are dairy and gluten free too! For those non- tea drinkers, they have nice coffee beverages and hot chocolate here as well. I really like how this shop has milk options/substitutes like skim, soy and lactose free milk unlike some places I've been. The reason why I come here is for the bubble tea! For around $5.50 I had the 16oz mango bubble tea with tapioca. Pricey? Yes, but so worth it! There was no artificial powder used here, rather the bubble tea was a blend of frozen mango goodness that bursted with delicious flavour without being too sweet- just perfect! The atmosphere at Tsaa is very cozy and relaxing. They have nice comfy chairs and tables, the decor is nice and the shop is clean and small, and they also have Wi-Fi. The staff is very attentive, cheerful and helpful too. Came here on a weekday morning. The place was empty so I could enjoy breakfast quietly by myself. I had a London Fog and blueberry scone. The London Fog is made with loose leaf earl grey tea and it was probably the best I've ever had. The flavour of the earl grey was really fragrant and it wasn't too sweet, which I like. Finally tried the halo-halo! It was a tad sweet but nonetheless delicious! They have great customer service - you order from them and they bring you the drink. I was also asked if I want a glass of water since the waiter knew I was dining in. The restaurant is pretty small, but cozy, they probably have ten tables and a few outdoor seatings. This is currently my favourite bubble tea shop because they actually take the time to steep the black tea or rose tea. It tastes really good even without any sugar! My only suggestion is if they can make the tapioca balls or aloe vera jelly smaller in size as it currently exceeds the diameter of the straw, making it a little difficult. I agree that the service is slow as others has mentioned, but I didn't mind waiting around (lots of seating to hang out). read more

Came for the Halo Halo, left with a bitter taste of horrible service. Went in, ordered a large Halo Halo, took forever for them to find the item on the computer, finally telling me it was $8.25. Gave them $10.25 expecting a toonie back to which they started scrounging for change. I asked why, and they said it was because there was tax (why wouldn't you tell me the post-tax price?). I give them the extra money to cover the tax again expecting a toonie back, and they had to replug in my order again entirely because they couldn't figure it out in their head! After that ordeal, it took another 15+ minutes of waiting to actually get my Halo Halo made (I was the only person in line). I wasted half an hour for a simple drink order. I first got a taste of this teashop tea-liciousness during the Taste of the Danforth. I tried their MANGO BUBBLE TEA. All their ingredients are freshly ground (mango, yams, lychee, etc) and mixed with tea to make delicious smoothies that taste like real fruit (none of the powder stuff offered in low-grade bubble tea shops). They have an assortment of special loose leaf teas too that are fun and refreshing. Must try their BLOOMING TEA - which blooms into a full flower in a teapot, beautiful and delicious! Such sweet ladies that own it, opening their business with such passion and vigor. I don't even live in this area but when I am anywhere near it, I must stop by!! We love coming to this tea shop! I was so happy when it opened because the Danforth is full of coffee shops (Timothy's, Second Cup and Starbucks). The sweetest sisters own this store and we always have a nice little chat with them. They often have other members of their family working in the back or making the teas. Tons of different types of loose leaf teas are available--my favourites are the sweet temptation (rooibas) and the ginger tea (rooibas). Both great choices after you've stuffed yourself at one of the nearby Greek restaurants. I've never tried the bubble tea or the sandwiches, but I'm saving that for another visit. There are also lots of gluten-free sweets available--my favourite is the gluten-free carrot cake. So delicious! It's big enough to share, but so good that you won't want to! I tried the chilled peach tea. It was served in a very posh tall cocktail glass, which is not what I was expecting! Nice touch! Very friendly staff, lots of loose leaf teas, coffee drinks, bubble teas and baked goods. Baked goods looked AMAZING but were not made on site (I asked). There's not much else walking distance from here in this genre (aside from 2nd cup). They've got hot teas, bubble tea and serve coffee as well. I can't believe it took me this long to finally try out this gem! Just steps from Chester subway station, Tsaa is right on the nicest stretch of the Danforth. I've passed by it often, and even dropped in once during the Taste of The Danforth to a completely packed store. While an impatient friend in search of a souvlaki fix prevented me from trying anything that day, the cozy decor and variety of the menu made this little tea shop stay in my mind. Looking for an energy boost after finishing a workout down the street, I opted for one of the tea lattes. My french vanilla matcha was brought right to my table, along with a glass of ice water. I'm not sure whether I still looked flushed from my run -I'm a sufferer of TSA, (Tomato Face Syndrome!)-, or if this was common practice, but either way, that's what I call service! The latte itself was one of the best I've ever had. Rich, creamy and flavorful. The matcha was finely milled and suspended well in the drink - it didn't make me feel like I had a mouthful of grit, which I've encountered with lower quality tea powders. Excellent serving sizes, and the clear mugs really showed off the nice layering of the milky green foam on the white base. This tea shop seems to be a family business, and the proprietress was absolutely lovely. Easy to talk to, and very knowledgeable about her wares, she even turned on the electric fireplace when I sat down at a table beside it to "improve my ambiance". Wow. And I thought I was a Starbucks girl through-and-through. Tsaa's menu also offers a surprisingly extensive collection of breakfast items, gourmet sandwiches and soups for those looking for a little more sustenance than just drinks. Not to mention a tempting array of cookies, cupcakes and bars to satisfy any sweet tooth. With stuffed armchairs, free WiFi, and amazing staff, this tea shop is the perfect way to while away a lazy afternoon. I am a bit reluctant to write about Tsaa because I don't want others to find out about it because it's "my" place but it's a really great shop and I want it to stick around. I've been a regular since it opened and the staff are great. They know you by name and are always cheerful. Plus, their tea selections (and tea merchandise) are bar none. They have a great selection of green teas and their London Fog is one of the best in the city. I'm also a sucker for their tea lemonades, my favourite being the Cranberry Autumn Lemonade. They serve it in these really tall glasses as well. It's addictive! The family run business is Filipino so they have a version of their Halo Halo if you wanted to try something different. Tsaa also sells food. Their sandwiches are delish (though a bit on the expensive side at around $6-7). They also sell gluten free chocolate desserts. This is a great place to work (with a few outlets inside, lots of light, muzak in the background and lots of tables). If you want to have a chat with a girlfriend or read a book, there are some more comfortable lounge chairs and a fireplace. A great alternative to the crowded coffee shops on the Danforth. read more

I stumbled on this place accidentally and though that it was wonderful. The ambiance is great and the seating comfortable. The tea is great but a little pricey. I had jasmine green tea and it was lovely. The staff was very friendly and there is a coffee for those who don't want tea. My friend had an Americano.
