I called the office to have them refund me what they had overcharged. They declined to do so stating that they allocated $45 to body fat calculation from stepping on a scale for 10 seconds. I'm sorry but you can't charge someone $45 to do something gyms do for free for you and should be inclusive in the initial examination. They are not transparent in their billing at all and do not let you know up front what you will be paying. No matter how nice the staff and doctors, prices need to be transparent and fair. I would not recommend them.

They sit you in this room and tell you about all the modalities they'll use to help you, and then calmly tell you it'll be some $12,000 and hand you the clipboard to sign, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. If you dare question their quote, or ask any billing questions whatsoever, they will make an example out of you, and give you a hard time, and sigh and shake their head, and make you feel like a 'problem patient,' and have some supposed bigwig from the back come out to talk to you, and other nonsense and idiocy. I had to beg and plead with them to give me some exercises I could do at home to help with the pain - but they weren't even concerned about that - I guess if the pain goes away, I wouldn't come back as much, right? - but they'd grudgingly give me just one new exercise every few times - and only because I pushed them to - they knew which ones I needed and just held them back - they could've helped me months earlier!!! It was also a bit frightening to overhear Dr Bupp on the phone with his wife on a couple of occasions... He was just shockingly immature,... and (as if the exorbitant charges and upselling and one-size-fits-all adjustments, and rude girls running around and Jesus music weren't enough,) I knew for sure then I wouldn't trust him anymore... Please be careful here. They may be able to help, but they will make you pay way beyond what you should have to, and make you wait much longer for pain relief than is necessary. He first determined the reasons for my neck and shoulder pain before applying treatment at my second visit. He explained how I could have surgery to remove a bone spur in my neck and gave me alternative treatment for a few sessions and I am pain-free (except when I swing my grandson around). I now make a monthly visit to keep my cervical area decompressed. After my latest appointment, I asked Dr. McMillen to suggest a decompression unit for my home use and he agreed to research some for me. Later, I called to inquire about the reliability of a brand name of decompression equipment for my home use that I found. Dr. McMillen personally took my call and advised me that the manufacturer was reliable. I am very happy to have found such a personable and effective Chiropractor. But the actual medical benefit, according to real research, is small to none.
