I found Catalina on ebay searching for 2004 Saturn Vue body parts. I had an inspiration to find my car in my color. They had one! I contacted them through emails and a phone call. Response time was excellent and they surprised me by saying they could text me photos. I'm two hours away and wanted to go in person. It took me about a month to be able to take a day to go on this mission. I met Rich and Doug, looked at a few cars, made a list and left them to get them off multiple cars. They called me a couple hours later. I found more than I wanted. I bought more than I planned. It was definitely worth the trip and all the staff were EXCELLENT. You never know how you'll do with new businesses and Covid has affected some people to the point of crazy. It was great to find people healthy, sane and ready to be part of my little inspired project. As you can see in my photos finding a parts car in my color needed some divine intervention. In a moment of careless negligence I inadvertently lost a fastener on my 2006 Chevrolet Malibu. So I thought to myself: "Okay well I purchased the car at the Chevrolet dealership in Tucson and I will just ask for one at the parts counter." Nope Nada Zip I was told that part is no longer available ! What do do ? I recalled using Catalina Auto Recycling about 6 years ago on another automobile with success. So this afternoon I drove on up from Green Valley and the wonderful folks found my part ! Of course I was ecstatic beyond words when they told me: "No charge for that part" What ?! Did I hear that right ? Yes you did they DID NOT CHARGE ME for this particular part ! I was looking for a part for a car. I put in my request and was contacted by Catalina within an hour. They couldn't find the part any where in AZ. It is a Volvo and not many of the model I have were sold. They did find a part out of state and could arrange for it to be transported. I did not get the part, as the cost was too high with shipping, but I do appreciate the fact they went above and beyond. I would recommend this company for used car part needs. read more

A great experience from the minute one walks in the door to the time one leaves. They welcome you with a smile in a big clean office with a large comfortable waiting area. The staff and owners treat customers with respect are very efficient and knowledgeable on many aspects. My review is based solely off of a phone call. I called Catalina Auto Recycling to see if they had a specific hard-to-find part in stock for my car. The man who answered was super nice and helpful. After scouring his system for it, he told me they did not have it...and that would've been satisfactory enough for me...but he asked me to hold a moment, and after a few minutes, he came back and gave me the names and phone numbers of two places near me that actually have the part. Catalina Auto Recycling didn't have what I needed, but excellent customer service goes a LONG way, especially to a female caller who is used to men being dismissive of a woman who is calling around for car parts. I stopped in today looking for a part for my Subaru which unfortunately they did not have. But since I have many projects going on I asked if they had any Dodge Ramcharger parts which they did and they let me go back and look. I found a dashboard trim piece that I needed and asked how much? The man behind the counter said "just take it". It is a small part but I was blown away at how nice he was about it. On top of that he was very outgoing and even looked up the vehicle and pointed me in the right direction. On 5-18-2016 T approximately 4:30pm I walked in to Catalina Automotive Recyclers in Tucson AZ and spoke to a man by the name of Doug. I asked him for pricing on a Chevrolet engine with tranny. He said $2500 for the 5.3 and $3500 for the 6.0. I said "oh ok I found one in Phoenix for $1900 and I wanted to do some shopping around before I made a purchase. I said that hoping he'd want my business maybe match the price. Or even say sorry we can't do that. But he replied "I deal with high end guys that build $80 k trucks money isn't an object for them. I know you watched Spike and decided you want to buy an engine for $500 dollars. I said yes you're right I am that guy I watched spike and I want that deal. Well I guess I'll just spend my pennies elsewhere :) read more

waited on hold for 6 minutes....figured its a good sign that they are that busy.... a representative came on the line. He was very short and doing 1 or 2 other things and not giving me his attention. after repeating that I needed engine parts and a transmission for a Dodge Daytona, he started typing (could hear the click click click of finger pecks) he said what year was that Nissan Altima? I said, no you must have me confused. I have a Dodge Daytona. Ok OK Im with ya now, what is it you need? so for 3rd time i told him.... finally he quoted me a price for what i needed of $800. I said great, ill be down to pick them up. He said not til wednesday. They were in "his" vegas warehouse. he said I had 1 hour to get there otherwise it would be friday. I live across town. no way I could get there in an hour, I offered to give him my credit card and drivers liscense #, but he was rude and laughed. He said I TOLD YOU you gotta be here in an hour if you want them Wednesday. I asked the guys name, he said Jerry and i said I'm Tony I am on my way. He said I'll be waiting. (I later figured out he was being a smart ASS) I got there and Jerry was gone for the day. another guy asked to help me. I told him what I needed. He said OK. I have it in "My" vegas warehouse and your total will be $1575. !! I said Jerry quoted me $800. He says Sir, if you want it its $1575. Jerry isnt here. For all I know Jerry was the guy sitting right next to him or Jerry was the guy in the office with his feet up . I looked around, I thought for a minute. and realized THAT THEY PLAYED ME ON THE PHONE WITH A LOW PRICE, CLAIMS THEY CANT TAKE CREDIT CARDS OVER THE PHONE SO YOU CANT GET THE LOW PRICE THEY QUOTE YOU AND MAKE YOU COME DOWN ONLY TO BAIT AND SWITCH THE PRICE FIGURING YOU ARE STUCK! ONCE I REALIZED I HAD BEEN PLAYED, I EXCUSED MYSELF AND WALKED OUT. BAIT AND SWITCH ON PRICES OVER THE PHONE AND WHEN YOU SHOW UP THE GUY YOU TALKED TO IS "GONE FOR THE DAY". IN PARKING LOT, I TALKED TO ANOTHER DISGRUNTLED customer who was having similar issues, but on a part they paid for 2 days earlier. She said they misquoted her the other day and when the part arrived it was $20 more. so if she wanted the part it was now gonna be $20 more. she was livid, but cute. I gave her the 20 bucks and got her number. we went out 2 nights later. But watch yourself with "Jerry" who i later learned is the owner. Ill never be back. -Tony C. read more
