Visiting Oslo from the U.S. and heard this place was good so gave it a try. The food was wonderful, cooked fast and came hot. The prices were alright, could have been a little lower, especially for a tourist. There is a lady that pretty much runs the whole place and she was very helpful when figuring out what to order despite her own Thai accent. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the entire restaurant from the tables to the bathroom. I'm glad that my family and I chose to eat here, my mom said she would go again if she could. I would recommend getting the Thai Chili Basil Wok dish with chicken as that is what I had myself and thoroughly enjoyed it.

This spot is just off of the main shopping area. I really wanted to like this place, but our overall experience was somewhat uneven. We ordered an appetizer (fried spring rolls), Tom kha soup with chicken, Tom yum soup with shrimp, and then for entrees, my friend ordered stir fried chicken with mixed veggies, and I ordered shrimp fried rice. Problem was that the entrees came out first, and then some minutes later, the spring rolls and the two soups came out. Food wise, the spring rolls were good, no complaints there, nor with the two soups, other than to say that both soups contained lots and lots of lemongrass, as well as galanga leaves, all of which are generally inedible. So you had the protein, onions, mushrooms, etc. that were in a delicious broth, but you had to sift through all of the inedibles to get to the good stuff. The disappointment was my fried rice. No matter how much fish sauce I added, it was just bland. My palate thinks the rice was probably made with little to notated sauce, for depth of flavor. My friend liked his entree well enough. FYI, they don't have Thai iced tea or Thai iced coffee. It's a convenient location, and the food was decent over all, even if it didn't bowl me over. Given the choice, I'd likely check out another Thai restaurant for comparison purposes, before coming back here.

Was in the mood for Thai, which seems weird in Norway - but, found Tuk Tuk Thai and it was excellent. Had red curry with chicken and pineapple. The chicken was as tender as I have ever had at a Thai restaurant - so good! The pineapple was also tender and tasty. The spice level was perfect, just enough to get my nose running. Very clean place, fun decor, and friendly staff. I'll be back...

One of the few asian cuisines that we found in Oslo. It is pretty good and authenic. I was pretty sick when traveling so their hot soups and rice dishes was what I needed. You order at the seat and pay up front. The servers are nice and generally don't speak much English, but you can get by without speaking Norweigien.

The vegetables with rice was delicious. Plain and simple with a Chang beer. Came hear first day was just as good the next day. Quick good quality food.. The pattern carrots give it a nice touch.xx

The papaya salad is delicious! Phai Thai was a generous portion and red curry was aromatic.

Everything was what I expected from Thai. Delicious and Reasonably priced tucked into a less busy corner of the area!

Green curry was a bit spicy but tasted very good. Definitely not enough rice for the curry. Overall would recommend

Great meal and friendly service. A nice change of pace. Closer by, but doesn't feel touristy.

This was unquestionably the case here at Fragrance of the Heart, which appeared out of the (literal) mist with red lentil dal, exactly at the moment I became fed up with Norwegian food and started craving red lentil dal. It was wonderful, but of course it was. It was singularly what I was searching for. Their namesake bowl wasn't as impressive. They sort of just threw a bunch of stuff into a bowl with no regard for how it might work together. Smoked tofu? Potatoes? Brown guacamole? Beans? Sure. I can say that the ginger lemonade was great and unaided by my cravings, as I didn't know I wanted it until I saw it. It was so gingery as to rival Jamaican ginger juice, which is no joke.

A calm atmosphere where the servers speak softly, people read newspaper instead of Yelping, and serene flute wafts in the background. In this respect, I get why some would adore this cafe. But to be fair, I'm not the right person to rate this establishment fully, as this opinion is strictly about food and less than a holistic view of the cafe. It may be food for the soul, but it's not exactly food for the foodies. Menu includes two kinds of quiches, two soups of the day and an assortment of veggie lasagnas, spinach pies and avocado wraps. The pies don't look that appetizing to be honest, as if it has been premade days ahead and unfrozen. The creamy leek soup was ok actually, if rather unexciting and half a note too tangy. On a good note, their coffee is raved by other reviewers and it does deliver. It is somewhat overpriced for its standards and this holds back its value.

The Masala Dosai was a crepe made from a fermented rice and uridhal (lentil) batter, served with a filling of spiced potatoes and served with dhal (lentil soup), coconut chutney, and sambar (vegetable/lentil soup) on the side. The crepe was perfectly thin and crispy, and each of the accompaniments was perfectly spiced (especially with lots of mustard seeds). I also tried the Kottu Rotti Chicken, a dish made of chopped roti flatbreads stir-fried with shredded chicken, egg, onion, and chilli. The rotis retained a chewy texture, and the meaty chicken and spices turned the boring leftovers into an exciting new dish. Even more memorable than the food, however, was our server, a new immigrant from Nepal, who made us feel right at home and made special accommodations to serve us even close to closing time. This is a great, local, small business worth supporting!
