We were visiting family over the holidays and needed a good place for our dog to stay in Tulsa. We live in Texas and thought a Vet Hospital that advertised lodging amenities would be a safe choice. We were wrong. We paid extra for the suite that was not as nice as pictured on the website. It seemed that cats had a run of the place. We picked up our dog who was very stressed. His blanket was being washed when we arrived (not given a reason why), his bedding had spots of blood on it and as we drove back home he had really bad diarrhea. We were told there were no notes or concerns during his stay. However, I followed up to get an explanation and received a message from the vet that the problem was my dog's anxiety. This has never been an issue at any other location he has stayed before. The whole experience was traumatic and we'll never go back. read more

Just so you know they let's cats roam around so if you have a scardy cat like I do, be aware. One cat in particular can open room doors. My mom was waiting in a room with her 20 year old cat when this cat opened the door and came on in. A cat fight began and my poor mom was caught in the middle. She got scratch pretty badly. One of the ladies wrapped my moms arm. Well, my mom started having health issue shortly after. She called this vet to see if that wondering cat had their shots. My poor mom saw several doctors because she was sure she had an infection of some sort. She finally was diagnosed with an jnfectio. And given antibiotics for it. No apology from the staff nor did anyone call to check on her. So just be aware. read more

Compared to where I used to go, I feel like they actually listened to me. It was easy to set up an appointment and it was quick. I just needed a prescription refill and they did a quick checkup without all the add ons. Also, I heard other customers at the front desk and I feel like they were listened to as well. Dr P exemplifies everything I want in the caretaker of my fur baby. He is kind, gentle, and not only cares about my dog's best interest, but also my own. Dr. Prisinzano saved my fur baby this week. Diesel is part lab, and apparently that part of his DNA drives him to consume anything he can fit into his mouth. I try to keep his world free of danger, but accidents happen and Diesel gleefully dined on some rather delectable plastic at some point recently. Unfortunately, this time he wasn't so lucky and several pieces got stuck in his digestive tract. Diesel lost his appetite and began vomiting (more than I'd ever seen him expel before) Monday afternoon. Since this is not uncommon for him, I waited it out but when he was no better Tuesday morning, I called his regular vet (Banfield). They couldn't fit him in. I was upset at the time, but now I'm so glad that happened! I might never have discovered TGVH otherwise. What an experience! I was greeted at the door as I brought Diesel in by a very nice woman, who made a big fuss over my fur baby and showed him off to the other women in the reception area. All were wonderful. I was then directed to a very cozy room with a clean and comfy loveseat and introduced to Chris. He so obviously loves animals I was put at ease right away. Chris then brought in Dr. P and I became an immediate fan. Dr. P examined Diesel so gently, and noticed right away Diesel had an ear infection. He offered to treat it with a long-acting medicine I'd never been offered at Banfield. I had even appealed to them several times for ideas because it's so difficult to get Diesel to cooperate with ear cleaning at home. I had no idea such a wonderful solution existed! +1 for Dr. P already! Over the next 2 days, Dr. P and his staff cared for my baby and helped him bounce back to the happy, sweet and loving boy he is. I knew Diesel had been treated well when I visited him on Wednesday. Chris brought him into the room and left him with me and his brother, Jax. Diesel was excited to see us and seemed so much better already, but I was shocked when a minute or so into our reunion, Diesel wanted back through the door! A canine testament if ever there were one, I'd say. I could go on and on about the wonderful experience. Everyone I met was fantastic. They clearly love animals and their humans, too. Even the cost shocked me. I would have paid many times what Dr. P charged for all the work that was done plus a two night stay. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Dr. P and staff! Dr. P and his staff were completely professional from the moment I walked in the door. They knew exactly who I was as a first time client. They greeted us by taking us immediately into a patient room and asked for beverages. Dr. P explained everything in detail and included images of the canine spine on large TV screen in the patient room. My fur kid has been paralyzed and I needed answers. I got answers with pictures and options of x-rays and referrals for specialists. I was treated the way I would want to be treated as if I was bringing my CHILD into a doctor's office. I can't have children so these decisions are important to me. Dr. P helped me today with that process. read more

My dog has cancer and I was very concerned as he was not eating and was drinking very little. Brought him to TGVH. They did blood work that cost 146.00 and supplied me with MIRTAZAPINE 15 MG appetite stimulant pills at a cost of 5.42 each. The same mirtazapine pill cost .33 each at Allivett.com and .53 each at 1800petmeds.com. I checked on the cost of my dogs last blood work which was done in September of 2016. I paid 97.00. It is sad to be taken advantage of at a time when you are most vulnerable. Before leaving I was told that a prescription for Prednisone had been called in to my pharmacy. Stopped on my way home... No prescription had been called in or faxed. Pharmacist called TGVH and was told that Dr P had not called it in and he was out to lunch. Was not able to get the medication. read more

We recently boarded our two babies for the first time ,they are 5 and 6 years old. My husband and I were very nervous about boarding, Dr. P and his staff were great, when we returned to pick up our babies they were both well taken care of, they weren't showing signs of stress or anxiety. We had used an in home pet sitter twice prior to this, both dogs were showed signs of stress and anxiety when we returned, that's why we've been hesitant to leave them again. The boarding with Tulsa General Veterinary clinic went so well that when our lives recently required a need to board our babies again we chose Tulsa General Veterinary Clinic. Our babies were so at ease with the staff here they didn't hesitate to follow them back to the kennels, no pulling or struggling at all. I cannot say enough good things about Tulsa General Veterinary Hospital, Dr P and his staff. I never hesitate to call when my two dogs are sick or hurt. Dr. P is caring, capable and on top of what he does. He is interested in your pet and only wants the best for your pet. I just picked up my Lilly girl from his hospital with three prescriptions and instructions on what to do. He took the time to let us know about her condition, her meds and how to handle her. We had a difficult time finding a place to leave our dog Dante. After a few scary experiences we found Tulsa General. They are amazing there! They truly love animals, care for your baby like it was one of their own, and provide care for them if they have any issues while you're away. I'd refer them in a heart beat!
