I don't know how the doctors here are because I never saw them, but the office staff (I assume that's who was relentlessly texting me) is really something else. I scheduled an appointment and since I was a new patient, I had to wait several months. On the day of the appointment I got a text saying the waiting room was "OPEN!" and I should fill out my check-in paperwork. I've been to the doctor before of course, and I've never been required to fill out my paperwork first. I was busy so I didn't think a lot about it. Then I got a text saying if I didn't fill out my check-in paperwork, my appointment was going to be cancelled. I found this to be a little rude, a little inappropriate, and I was working, so I continued about my business. Like so many people I have full-time job, and if I MAY be so bold, these appointments should include time to fill out said required paperwork. But then I guess you wouldn't be packing your schedule so as to make as much money as possible. Anyway, as I was dutifully fulfilling my other obligations, I got a third text saying that Dr. Ribaudo was seeing someone in labor. I was happy for this new mother, but I didn't know what this meant for me. I kept going about my business. But lo, then a fourth text came saying the doctor was delivering a baby and my appointment was cancelled. It doesn't stop there, though. A fifth text came saying I needed to fill out my paperwork again! Confused, I called the office. I should probably point out here that I called them, they didn't call me to tell me, a new patient who had waited months to be seen, that my appointment was cancelled. The woman who answered was named Twila. She was not very nice at all! She said my appointment was cancelled both because I hadn't filled out my paperwork and because the doctor was delivering a baby! Who knows what really happened! We can only look into the dark maw of American healthcare and private insurance and take a guess. She rescheduled my appointment but on the given day I again started receiving texts that if I didn't fill out the paperwork, my appointment would be cancelled. I just went ahead and cancelled it myself. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor, let alone a doctor who handles sensitive matters like the reproductive health of women. At the very least they need to take a hard look at their scheduling requirements and their attitudes toward their patients. read more
