booking at city jail was quick, i'd estimate 45 minutes to an hour from arrival at detainment center to holding cell, with an intermediate wait in small holding cell near arrival desk as a step i'd not experienced during booking at county jail, in which i sat on a bench as other arrestees arrived at the facility and shared a space with me while the officers processed entry for me into the facility. once in the holding cell, with a padded mat and wool blanket in tow, food quantity was plentiful, with a variety of pot pie, cheese stick, package of cheese crackers, fruit gummies, and a kool aid beverage served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which assisted with delaying defecation in the confined cell with the constipation promoting properties of the frozen pot pie meals, but admittedly the smell of the food did blend with the smell of grown men in the holding cell, including me, not showering for days in a row. nonetheless, food was tasty and distinguishable in smell with minimal concentration from the man stank. and lastly, after 3 days, cue first year high school old testament study rejoinder, i got the opportunity to appear in court, and received release from detainment and a waiving of fees associated with the charges by pleading "no contest," by the negotiation and recommendation of a public defender clearly devoted to the pursuit of justice, for me along with fellow detainees who appeared in court today as well. read more

I had a wonderful experience with the Tulsa PD last night. My wife left her phone at a Walmart, and someone picked it up. Despite numerous calls, the phone was not answered. On an app, we tracked it to a location and filed a police report. We called the police when we arrived at the location. Two police responded and they retrieved the phone. This is my second positive experience with Tulsa PD. My dad was an NYC cop, and I am so gratified to see the professionalism of the Tulsa PD. Thanks. read more

I know there are some very kind and honest police officers. Unfornutaley, we rarely see them for the overinflated, ignorant ones. Too often, police departments and officers violate their role in the community and abuse their power by engaging in acts of excessive force; acting in an increasingly militarized capacity; abusing asset forfeiture policies; and routinely stopping and frisking entire communities, among other practices that treat individuals as Justice. Theyre very good at hiding in schoolzones and ticketing people that way. I dont know about others but that in particular is illegal in some states. Its called "entrapment" and it shouldnt be allowed. Does 'worthless' even have a definition? It means 'nothing, non-existent,' right? Yep, that sums up the value of Tulsa PD's traffic 'cops.' I was hit from behind by a speeding meth-head running away from 3 citizens who were pursuing him after having seen him steal items from a parked automobile. He exited his vehicle after totaling my car, maniacally screaming and circling his car while the 3 pursuants filmed him with their phones. He was wearing an empty (fortunately) cross-chest gun holster. Tulsa Fire showed up. EMS showed up. Of course, no 'cop' to be found. After EMS had had me in an ambulance and hooked up to an IV for 20 minutes, Tulsa's finest Jason Hamm showed up on the scene. He didn't have a business card, so he scribbled his name on a scrap of paper and handed it to me before I was taken to St. Francis. I wouldn't be able to contact him for the next 5 days. When I called TPD's 'non-emergency' number to ask for him I was put on hold so the 'non-emergency' receptionlist could answer a 911 call. That's how literally disorganized Tulsa PD is. While EMS, TFD, the irate bystanders and I waited for police to finally show up--multiple altercations broke out between the half-clad teenagers Mr. Meth-head had summoned by phone and the bystanders who had witnessed the car burglary, chase and crash. The EMTs were peeking out the ambulance windows at the mayhem pondering WHEN the cops would ever show up. I was whisked away today to the ER seconds after J. Hamm gave me his scrap of paper, left wondering what had happened, where my totaled car with my house keys inside had been towed to, whether the characters on the scene were going to resort to blows... No need to have worried. When my 72 year old mother had to drive her jalopy to Tulsa 5 days later to pick up an accident report in person for our insurance--given that TPD 'records' couldn't guess how long it would take to generate a downloadable online report-- I learned that Mr. Meth-Head was in fact a fine upstanding citizen with no insurance. No note in the report of the alleged theft, the chase, the pursuants (3 black men-- Mr. Meth-Head is white--so am I). or the extended video footage they claimed to have. Just that Mr. Meth-head claimed I 'stopped abruptly' in front of him. At least another neutral white witness (I guess Hamm didn't consider the 3 black men w/video footage 'witnesses') confirmed I was at a full stop for a left turn & Mr. Meth-Head was speeding. But hey! For Hamm, Mr. Meth-Head, public menace, was juss uh good ol' white boy--wearing a gun holster--tryin' tuh git tuh wurk. And no, this didn't happen in forsaken 'north Tulsa.' A while ago my uncle stole my father's identity, he was stopped & taken to jail, he noticed when they were processing a different man being poked in the ribs by a policeman to get a reaction, then that policeman slammed him to the ground. -Back to what happened to my father-he went to court with a lawyer and pled not guilty, the lawyer explained about my uncle but the judge didn't care and gave my father 5 years in prison but it was later dropped.. My recent experience, I was woken up at 3:30am to big banging at the front door, I looked through the window, they said they were the police, I asked three times for them to show they're badges & they never would (which theyre supposed to do by Law), I eventually opened the front door seperating us with the screen door, they threatened me and my indoor dog, one of the policeman was talking to dispatch & found out they had the wrong address!!! No sorry no nothing. Most police & judges are bullies or corrupt to their own laws. The good police get drowned by the bad. What a sad system we live in. read more

just have to tell my hero story! last night/ early this morning around 3am officers Hardin and Harkin walk into the QT at 81st and memorial where had already been waiting over 2 hours for AAA to open my car, as I locked my keys and phones in it when I stopped to get gas. As I am arguing with AAA to get some one fast as I do have some disabilities and walk with a Cain (which I also locked in the car) these 2 was more then angels sent from above! they called their tow company and he was there in 30-45 Mins and had me headed home! so much thanks go out to these 2 office that was my saving grace! I was taking a massive shit in the local elementary school's garden (good fertilizer) until a police officer came by and said to get on the ground, he must be head over heels in love with me! I was so happy but I said that I wasn't gay and that a hug was ok, so I walked over with my arms wide open and my pants on my ankles, with my chocolate covered ass cheeks hanging out for the world to see. He tazes me, kissed me and took me into his car, but I left my shit covered jeans back at the school but it's fine. He had a nice Toyota too! I agree with Shady E. The only time I asked for help from the police, was when my car was broken into, at Kohl's on 71st. I was working and I had about $1,400 worth of items stolen. Being only 20 years old at the time, I wasn't makeing much money just yet so that was a terribly large amount. When the police officer came to write down everything I had lost, he tried making the situation light and cracking jokes. They never did find anything and even if they had, I would have to call them instead of them calling me. Thanks cops. read more

My car broke down on Highway 169 Saturday afternoon at 4pm. My back tire on the driver side fell off. I called 911 to prevent a terrible accident. the only police office I saw was the one that almost hit me and did not come back around to make sure I did not get hit. I called 911 twice and no one showed up. After an hour and a half of watching my car almost get hit a Mountaineer hit me so hard from behind that my front tires cracked and sent me and my Mercedes ML350 spinning 40 yards. The other guy is in the hospital. Now there were police cars, fire trucks, ambulance and tow trucks on the scene. REALLY it takes blood to get the cops going. The police officer told me there were 30 police at a double shooting a mile away. The cops had priority and it was to watch the homocide detectives do their thing!!!!!
