We had our company bbq picnic at the zoo. The management and associates were so helpful setting up tables and chairs and always checking in with us. Our employees and their families were given wristbands to ensure they are with our company and they got to walk through the zoo exhibits. All of the kids (me too) enjoyed the exhibits from the sloths, parrots and cockatoos, monkeys, Pygmy goats, mini horses, giraffe, etc. they do have a car or tour where you can take your car and see the buffalos out further on the property. Plenty of fun for the kids/adults with the slides, see saws, activities and more. Great fun and educational as well.

Two bus loads of field trip 2nd graders with teachers & many parent chaperones in our group. Another Academy came earlier & left at lunchtime. This staff was amazing. The animals love the people! Our guide, (the animals loved him), was very helpful letting the kids be kids. Only 1 bandaid needed. Brought my grand 3 years ago, be sure to get a bucket of food for the animals!

Sheila and her staff were amazing! We had so much fun feeding the buffalo, Cherokee. His friends, the camel, mini ponies, and zebras were some highlights too. We will definitely be back!!

Very clean and well-maintained. Playground eq was being power washed in the late morning. Animals well-cared for and very approachable. We brought a 2 year old and she enjoyed it as much as the 3 adults!

It was okay. Very few animals to feed. Not sure if we came at a bad time or what but most of the animals were in pastures away from the road. It didn't feel like you got what you paid for. It was a clean facility though.

Drive through feeding was awesome. This park exceeded our expectations. Kids loved feeding the large animals

Loved it! The drive was a bit shorter than expected but the llama I named Lewis made up for it! Definitely recommend getting at least 2 buckets of food!

This place is absolutely amazing. So many animlas to see and feed. They have a petting zoo and a safari park were you can feed the animals through your car.

This place is awesome! The VIP tour is worth every penny and highly recommended. The driver was very knowledgeable and so friendly. We stopped in just to pass some time before we could check into our hotel and I am sooo glad we did. I think anyone of any age will love this. We will definitely be back.

View from the catwalk. That is a really tall building but photos don't do justice on the height of the animal.

I first visited the Buffalo Park in the early 2000s. It was around the time they received the white buffalo they named Tukota. According to the National Bison Association, white buffalo are extremely rare and occur in about one in every 10 million births. Tukota died in 2011 from wounds obtained in a fight with other buffalo. Wth? Why, if something is so rare, would it be kept in general population with much larger, more dominant males? I know they are a herd animal, but why not keep him with females or smaller males? But I digress. There is a variety of animals in the petting zoo. You can get a bag of feed in the shop for $1.00 and contains enough to feed several animals. There are other animals that can be seen on your walk through the zoo, but cannot be touched. Bandit the Black Bear, Kiki the African Lion, Ozzie the Ball Python, Oliver the Capuchin Monkey, and Gypsy the Cougar and more popular animals for viewing. When you walk up the steps and onto the catwalk (on your way to the birds) is the best chance to see the giraffes. They like to walk up to you eye-to-eye and get a handout from your feed bag. On the bus tour you can see the buffalo, zebras, camel, yak, as well as many other animals. The tour includes a greeting from Joe the Camel, Tall Boy & Patches the Giraffes (they'll even eat out of your hand!) and possible appearances from Zeke & Zelda the Zebras. A giraffe has poked their head inside the door of the bus before. These are only a couple of the interesting things that you will encounter while on the Monster Bison Bus. They stop the bus and feed the buffalo so you can get up close and really appreciate the size of the animals. A trip to this zoo is much easier (for me anyway) than going to Memphis. The drive is easier, less crowded. Sure, you won't get to experience water animals and others as you do in Memphis, but I am happy with that. There are annual events such as their Pumpkin Patch and the Pow Wow dancers. Admission $11.00 Children Under 2 years Free Senior Citizens (65 years or older) $9.00 Bison Tour Bus/Open-air Trolley: Per Person $3.00 The last ride goes out 1 hour before closing. They both use the same route. The bus has monster truck tires and just looks cool and seats are more comfy than hard ones on the trolley. They offer trail rides and extras and the pricing is on their site http://www.tupelobuffalopark.com/rates.html

A great place for the family to enjoy animals! It has two parts: you can do the safari-kind of experience from your vehicle and feed the animals (llamas, buffalos, zebras, cows, emus, many more) pretty cool. Animals come to you and they look very healthy, happy and well taken care of. The other part is a walkable zoo with all sorts of animals. Again, the animals look good, the place is clean and you can feed some of them too. A great experience.

Not only the birthplace of Elvis, Tupelo, MS, also is home to some zebra. And giraffe. And a bunch of buffalo. Surprising to find these exotic animals in 'lil ole Tupelo - but at the Tupelo Buffalo Park, where they have buffalo for sale, they figured they may as well turn it into a park, too. On the tour you'll board a converted school bus, make a stop to get out and feed some of the furry creatures. The guide had a lovely Southern drawl that fit the park atmosphere and a ton of helpful info on the animals. There's also a 'walk thru' portion of the park, where you'll get to feed goats, but more excitingly, giraffes!! They had a small giraffe family (mom, dad and baby), and you must buy a bag of feed to get the experience of a slimy giraffe saliva as you feed 'em! As far as they know, Tall Boy, the male, is the tallest in the US at over 17 feet! For the 'lil guys (um, under 60 lbs.) there's the classic pony ride. In the summer, they also have horse trail rides for us folk that weigh in a bit above 60 lbs. According to our guide, the summer months bring crowds of people and fall/spring get the school field trip traffic. A pretty cool (and random) attraction for Tupelo!

I wish things were a little better. This year's trip was a bit sadder than some of my past year's trips. Tall Boy passed away in January. They say natural causes but I know he and Patches had just recently lost another baby giraffe. Joe the camel has a ligament injury and is laying out in pasture on pain shots. Kiki the lion has cancer, complete with draining shoulder tumor leaving her laying comfortably in the corner of her cage. Tukota has been gone for some years now. Her stuffed head hangs in the gift shop. :-/ I'm glad the park can at least afford vet care for the animals, so that they are all comfortable, but this was not what I was expecting when I brought my two and five yr old today.

The Trace roughly follows the historic travel and trade route (the Old Natchez Trace) that was first established by American bison and Native Americans indigenous to the area. It was later used by boatmen, enslaved Africans, soldiers, and U.S. Presidents among others. The Trace is maintained by the US National Park Service and is said to contain 10,000 years of American history. Over the years, I've driven the majority of the Mississippi and Alabama segments of the Trace and have explored many of the historical sites and natural attractions along the Trace. A few of my personal favorites include the Sunken Trace, Cypress Swamp, Emerald Mound, and Rocky Springs ghost town. I also have fond memories from Summer 2004 of riding on the Trace and listening to BB King as a college student conducting a tour of Civil Rights Movement sites across the state of Mississippi (along with four other students and two Africana Studies professors from my alma mater). As you can tell, I hold the Trace in high regard. So, I was elated to return in Fall 2022 during my road trip through Louisiana and Mississippi. I drove the Trace from Natchez to Jackson (roughly 120 miles), and it was by far the most scenic and quintessentially Southern (referring to the rich, but also fraught, history of the Trace) stretch of my trip.
