I love supporting local businesses in my college town. I picked up some delicious pies from Sweet Daddy's Pies, some yummy treats from Bliss Treat Bar, and great soaps from Elephantine Mink Soap Co. as well as a lovely man selling goats milk soap - I didn't catch a business name. Such a lovely market! A must visit if you're from or visiting Tuscaloosa. They run the market on Saturdays and Tuesdays in June & July.

Ethan Gardiner played for us and his voice is amazing! We visited all the vendors and enjoyed ourselves greatly. Fresh fish, fresh veggies and baked goods - we bought all we could from four vendors. And did I mention the gluten free offerings? I saw three vendors with gluten free offerings. We brought home GF pound cake, GF chocolate chip cookies and gluten safe chicken salad. Yummy! We will definitely be back. The River Market Farmers Market is every Saturday morning (7-12) year round. Handicap accessible, grocery carts available. Bring your own bag to help carry things home.... And don't forget your furry companions. We saw several very well behaved dogs either carried or on a leash and one young lady was off to the side doing some distraction training with her chocolate lab. Anyone interested in fresh food, getting out in the fresh air and a healthy experience will be interested in visiting the River Market!

The restaurant/buffet here is run by culinary students at the East MS Community College. They are friendly, and damn good cooks. Sometimes the service is lacking, as in the dirty plates don't get picked up, etc. But due to the quality and selection, I don't deduct for it. It has always been BYOB, although I hear it may be changing soon, as they are obtaining a liquor license, so be prepared. Other than the brunch buffet, LH also has a pool, golf course, and multiple event venues. I have heard or experienced good things about all, and think the value is very good (that's a nice way of saying that you get more than what you pay for).

It did start off a little rough as we were not very warmly greeted by the hostess who seemed annoyed we didn't have a reservation. They also didn't take our name but there were only a few groups ahead of us. We eventually were seated by the hostess where a server came over and took drink orders. Coffee is self serve which i enjoyed because I hate asking to have my mug refilled all the time. It was pretty self explanatory from there. There is a fresh omelette bar, specialty waffle station and fresh eggs Benedict made to order. The buffet line was mainly the lunch items...salad bar, steamed green beans, fried chicken, roast turkey, cornbread stuffing, biscuits and gravy etc... We will go back!

This former church has been turned into a great restaurant with live music. There's plenty of tables and a bar with a huge screen for sports. The band sets up in the corner up front. The food here is all small plates. Since there were 4 of us, we ordered quite a few. Some favorites were the Pork Belly Tacos, Steak Tacos, Chicken Salad Sliders, and the Steak A La Plancha. Together, with nice glasses of wine, this was an excellent dinner! The restaurant is off the beaten path from downtown and parking on the street is easy. If you're looking for something different, check out The Sanctuary!

The facility was very nice, clean, and provided a pleasant atmosphere for our special occasion. The service was good, and the staff was attentive throughout our visit. As for the food, it was prepared well and appeared to be enjoyed by many in our group. Several people complimented their meals and seemed very satisfied. For me personally, the menu offerings and flavors were simply not the type of food I typically prefer. That's a matter of personal taste rather than food quality. Overall, I had a positive experience with the venue and service, but the cuisine was not quite my style. For that reason, I would give The Sanctuary on 25th a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
