I had the opportunity to stop by Tupelo Consignment Music again this week. What an awesome music store for vintage gear. I have been shopping here for the last 10 years!! They have great vintage musical instruments at good prices.. My friend Jody Lackey is the owner. I want encourage anyone traveling through Mississippi to stop by and give them a visit.. I find the other reviews puzzling. I've never had anything but first rate service from this establishment... hmm...

I was visiting my son for Xmas and went here on 12.31.12. I was going to buy 10 packs of electric guitar strings and 10 packs of acoustic guitar strings for my son. I was also going to see if they carried Herco guitar picks. I went in and asked if they had Ernie Ball Super Slinky guitar strings in size 10-46. I misspoke when I said "Super Slinkies" and should have said "Regular Slinkies". The guy who worked there started giving me attitude. If he'd spent just a little bit of time with me and asked a couple of questions, he'd have realized what I wanted. They didn't have more than two packs of the strings I wanted and after I found out they wanted $7.50 per pack of a different brand, I decided to buy the strings off the internet at half that price. So much for shopping locally. Hey dude, lose the attitude. And, btw, you didn't need to follow me out the door to see if I'd stolen anything. I make just under $200k per year building power lines in San Francisco and I don't steal anything. I would have paid your gouging price except you're a jerk and you're not getting any of my money. Very friendly staff, great selection, and reasonable prices. I visit Consignment often for many different things, and they have been nothing but helpful. My review is much different than the last here, but being a local, I know these guys a little better, and can stand behind the fact that it's a great local music store, which is becoming a rarity. read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced, Found a guitar in the used section that I was interested in, so I picked it up and took it to the front to get a price on it, Some older man sitting on couch starts questioning where I got guitar at & I told him I picked it up by used equipment . he tells me that belongs to someone else & to go put it back where I got it from. I guess some one brought it in for set up or repair, don't really know, but it tells me that if you bring something in for repair/setup that they don't even know where your stuff is. guy was a complete jerk, I wouldn't buy a pick from them read more

I stated to play guitar a year ago. I walked in intimidated and the guys in the shop were friendly and helpful. I take guitar lessons from Eric Stogner who is fantastic and very laid back. They stock a variety of new and used guitars. I have bought a couple of guitars from them and would do so again. read more

Im not one to write reviews but I left this store disapointed today. I travel and have free time on my hands sometimes so I decided to buy a cheap guitar to have in my work car. So I stop in like I have a few times before. I found a small Fender for $225. I stand and wait for a sales person for at least 15 mins. When I finally go looking for them I find one laying on the couch up front and the other outside smoking. I ask the one on the couch if he would help. He looked like it was an insult. I made an offer of $200 on the guitar and he said no. Thats understandable. No big deal. But then turned his back and walked back flopped down on the couch. Another sales person attempted to help me but sleepy boy told him he already told me no on the offer. Said it in a way that lost my business. Im also in the market for a very high end guitar and once would have like to have bought local. There is not a chance of that now. Keep up this kind of customer service,,good job. I wont be back. read more
