Turbo wasn't terrible, but the drink I tried just missed the mark. My cinnamon toast latte tasted watered down, probably because they pour espresso over ice instead of lowering the temp with the milk first and then adding syrups/ice. Biggest red flag for a coffee shop. That said, Tuscaloosa doesn't have a ton of coffee options, so if you're curious, go for it, especially since they rotate seasonal drinks. Customer service is excellent. Prices are average for product. I used to go here regularly and feel like the mocha had more of a chocolate taste. Today, we decided to get an iced quad shot oatmilk mocha from here and another place nearby and compare them. I'll include information on both but will say that if you want to taste the coffee (we like the taste of coffee), Turbo would be the better choice. Although we got our drink to go today, we like the ambiance. We have had mochas all over the US (including AK & HI) and in other countries that make them (some places don't), so we (and some of our friends) consider ourselves mocha connoisseurs. Iced Quad Oatmilk Mocha Turbo J: 6/10, lots of coffee, not much chocolate (prefer more), bitter, could use more sweetness N: 6/10, Strong coffee flavor (good), very (maybe too) bitter, barely any chocolate (not enough), too (syrupy) sweet Competitor J: 7/10, don't taste coffee (prefer to taste more), not bitter, could use 1 step up on chocolate, sweetness okay N: 6/10, needs more coffee flavor, needs more chocolate (taste it more than Turbo but no enough for me), still a little too sweet but not as syrupy, not bitter, don't like lid because of risk of coming loose/leaking I would come back but not weekly like I used to in 2020-21. I travel a ton between Huntsville and Meridian, and this is my halfway, caffeine refuel spot Food and drinks come out fast. Iced coffees are good, and while the food selection is not robust, what they do have is solid for brunch or breakfast. Location is quaint. I came here on a Thursday morning around 7:45. At first I thought it was closed because it looked dark inside but then saw someone walk in. The interior is nice with tons of seating! The menu is a printout they have on the counter, I wish there were more menus or a big one on the wall so I could see what they had while waiting in line. I got a yogurt parfait with blueberries and a plain iced latte and it was so good! Next time I'll try something seasonal and special but I'll definitely be coming back! We were in town for a wedding and hadn't been able to find a coffee shop with good espresso. I wish we had found this place earlier! The espresso was strong and flavorful without tasting overly roasted, the cinnamon roll was unique - like a sourdough cinnamon roll with maple glaze, yum. The shop had plenty of seating and decently available parking - a great spot to camp out and work or read for a few hours. Great music/ambiance, delicious coffee, good snacks and awesome vibes. Only downside is the espresso bar got backed up a bit so coffee took awhile (about 15 mins). Worth the wait! We had the cinnamon toast coffee, cold brew, and cinnamon roll. read more

- Ambiance/Vibe: The location was in a nice little spot with great parking considering how close to campus it is. There was plenty of open seating, and space. The design and setup was also just perfect - Coffee: I was feeling spontaneous and decided to break away from my usual vanilla. I tried their signature Latte, the Cinnamon Toast Latte. I will say it was really good, but I do think the cinnamon was a little much for my personal tastes. - Food: They had several food options. Several people seemed to be flocking to get açaí bowls, but they do also sell at least six other bowl bases that looked really good. There was also a nice little selection of cinnamon rolls and pastries - Prices: prices were a bit higher than I'm used to, but not too bad. - Staff: the workers were killing it when we were there. They were super friendly. I did kind of feel bad for them though. There were two, and with the way the crowd was they really probably should have had another person with them. - Merch: There were some shirts, mugs, and traditional merch, but one thing I loved was all of the artwork they had available. We stumbled upon Turbo coffee while driving through Tuscaloosa and looking for a spot to get a good, local cup of coffee. Turbo did not disappoint! First, the shop itself is adorable and features artwork by local artisans. I even bought some bath salts from the shelf of a local apothecary business. The coffee was also delicious! I got the Vietnamese iced coffee and my friends got black drip coffee. I also got a smoothie, which was DELICIOUS! My husband got a sandwich and said the homemade bread was awesome. Extremely slow on a Sunday. We came in and placed a to-go order at 10:30am, it's 11:10am and still only have our drinks. I'd imagine my ice has melted in the car by now. They ran out of Açaí and limited on the Mango bowls. One person making the bowls is taking forever! If you're backed up let people know. Otherwise get more than one person working the bowls. If you like strong coffee, pull out the pocket book. I can always tell if people know coffee by how many shots they put in an Americano. If they say "all sizes have two shots," that means they are charging you for extra water and are a joke. A $3, 12oz, 2 shot Americano with $1.50 for an extra shot (3 shots total) even though they pull shots in doubles anyway; is joke. So yeah, way overpriced. $5 for 3 shots of coffee. Decent roast though, so I gave it an average grade. I'll probably look for a cheaper place in the future. read more

Lots of places boast chill vibe, but Turbo Coffee actually delivers just that. Music is mellow and not so loud that you can't study or carry on a conversation. You can easily hang out for a few hours without feeling like you've been there too long. Espresso is served in a small rocks tumbler as opposed to a traditional cup and saucer, but at least baristas here don't hand you a 4 ounce espresso in a large styrofoam cup. They're also friendly and knowledgeable, happy to chat you up or leave you alone. This place gets a steady stream of to-go business. During the few times that I've been, I'd say half the customers who walked in took their drinks to go. Refreshers are a good choice on a hot day. I got the mango and raspberry with lavender syrup. I'm from out of town, but if I lived in Tuscaloosa, this would be a regular spot for me. An espresso with a warmed up cinnamon roll is the way to go. The place just feels welcoming. read more

Look, I don't know if they were have a really (really) off day today or something, but my experience did not match up at all to the other reviews. There was no one at the counter, so I walked over to the end by the kitchen doorway and eventually caught someone's eye, who waved me back towards the register and said someone would be out. I don't know how long I waited, but it was a good several minutes. They use the Square payment system (and do not take cash at all), and as usual it prompted for a tip, which I really wasn't in the mood for given how long it took to get my order taken with no line. My iced latte was fine, but it didn't come in one of the cute glasses in the pictures here, just a plastic cup with a straw. $4.50 doesn't seem outrageous for a 16 ounce (and they don't offer a 12, just 16 or 20), but it wasn't anything special. I also ordered the breakfast bronco, which is supposed to be ham, egg, and cheese on an English muffin, for $5.50. Now, I went and sat down with my friend and the latte was called out, so I collected it. But after quite some time, there was no sign or sound of my sandwich. My friend wanted more coffee, so we went up to the counter together. She asked for avocado toast, to be told they were out of avocados, and then the 2 eggs plate with an English muffin, to be told they were out of those. She also again had to wait for someone from the back to get cream for her coffee out of the fridge behind the counter. I asked after my sandwich and was first asked if it was to go (no...) and then told that the order hadn't made it back to the kitchen. Um...they weren't busy. At all. I'm really not clear how that didn't happen. They then managed to produce it on multigrain bread (since they were out of English muffins, which they hadn't told me when I ordered). It was fine, but nothing special, and not worth the extended wait. Overall, it's a cute space, but service was terrible and they didn't have some of the things on the (small) menu. Has potential but need basic biz 101- you don't close a kitchen when u have people standing in line to order -- that were standing there for 20 min and the minute they get to order you close kitchen.
