I've been contemplating whether to leave a review or not, but at this point I have no option but to say that this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a company in general. The entire process is very disorganized, and the lack of communication or follow up is incredibly frustrating. Jacob did two projects for us: our backyard and then our front yard, several weeks apart. During the first project we experienced issues with communication, which we did speak to Jacob about and asked that he please do a better job at keeping us in the loop. He said he had some personal issues he was dealing with. We're understanding people and get that life happens, but we also believe business is business and needs to be kept separate from personal life. Professionalism is important to us. He then apologized and promised to show up promptly the next morning at 8am. We didn't hear from Jacob until 10am, and only because we reached out to him. He was having truck issues. At 1pm he said he would finally be arriving to get started for the day by 2pm. At 2:30pm Jacob was still not present. He finally called at 4pm to say that he wasn't going to show up at all for the day. Imagine our frustration. We experienced more than several days of late starts or no shows over the course of 5 weeks total for 2 projects. Unacceptable. Turf boys is the only company that asks for 80% up front for turf and deposit money. 20% is given after the project is complete. Before the completion of our first project he ended up taking the full amount of money without notice and blamed his secretary. He failed to correct the issue after finally getting ahold of him 5 hours later. The project still took 4 days more than it should have. Our 2nd project brought on new drama. Jacob contracted 2 individuals to help with our front yard. We were impressed at first with their work ethic and respect despite their rough appearance. Everything was going great with them until they started to complain that they had yet to be paid by Jacob. Matters got worse, and heated words and threats were exchanged on our property. Luckily we had a law enforcement neighbor to help diffuse the situation. The contracted workers were not allowed back as they were a threat to Jacob's safety as well as ours. The final outcome of our projects looks great, however we are now experiencing some issues with water seeping through our front lawn turf, our potted flowers are dying where Jacob did the water irrigation for us, and we still need a border put up between our yard and our neighbors. Needless to say, we're having a hard time tracking Jacob down again after multiple calls, texts and voicemails. He still hasn't shown after saying he would come to address the issues 3 weeks ago. Like I said, the projects look great, and we are happy with that aspect. I just don't know if all of the trouble was worth it. Buyer beware. Hopefully you have better luck than us. read more

Jake and Westin of Turf boys Inc just finished installing turf in my front and backyard along with some landscaping and installation of a drip system that will drastically reduce my water use. What was most impressive from these young professionals is they showed up on time, were clean with their work and finished on time as promised. Eric Winter installed the drip system and worked all day Sunday to finish the job. After he was finished he proceeded to clean off the patio and put all the furniture back to its original place. You would never know by the end of the day that we had some major landscaping work completed. Would love to have given a higher star on this company, except for the fact that they literally never responded to a request for pricing and henceforth never will receive our business... Now, you may be thinking, "Give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe it just slipped their mind, etc...".. Here's the thing... On July 9th, I reached out for a quote. Spoke to Jacob on the phone who said he would respond to my email with more information and pricing. I emailed immediately the same day. A few weeks went by and I had received zero response so I forwarded the same message back to the appropriate email that I received from Jacob with a "May you please respond to my below email". AGAIN, I didn't receive a single response via phone call or email. A week later, I decided to give them a call and see if I could get ahold of them for this project. No response on my initial call, but I DID receive a call back. Okay, that sounds somewhat promising, right? WRONG. Jacob told me that he would reach out to me that same day with the quote so that I could discuss it with my husband and we could go over our quote. About 7pm, I still hadn't received anything... Reached out to Jacob again with a "Haven't received the quote?".. no response.. The next day: responded with the same text: "Haven't received a quote or any responses whatsoever?".. still no response. So being that your initial contact with a company should be the one that wins your business or the one where they are fighting to EARN your business, I would have to say that my experience at this point has been far below even a low standard for a business. Not only did I not receive a single quote, but after a month+, I still haven't even received any responses one way or another with this company! I would never do business with this company at this point due to their lack of communication and blatant disrespect. read more

We had our lawn installed about three years ago. While the installation was perfect, we experienced a problem with the actual material. Westin and his crew came back on three different occasions to resolve the problem of the lawn laying down in spots. It was finally determined that the product was defective. The manufacture replaced the product but refused to reimburse us for the installation. Westin went to bat for us and got us a full refund on his installation. Not only did Turf Boys do a beautiful job (both times), they also helped us resolve a problem that was not caused by them. We can not say enough about Westin and his crew.
