We wanted a quiet place, where we could rest and take a load off. Man! Did we ever find a hidden gem! The owners were super nice, as well as the seasonal folks who took us for a quick cart ride to see the Fallen Rock. This year, we wanted to get away for 10 days over the 4th of July weekend. We didn't think long before we remembered how much we loved this campground! They were so accommodating! We had the same spot of our one=night visit last year. We met many more of the seasonal folks, and their dogs (we brought ours with us this time!) We have already make a reservation to go in the fall next year for the covered bridge festival. In closing, this is the nicest, cleanest park we have stayed at to date. The owners have obviously put their hearts into this place. They feel like family. Oh, and they put on a fireworks shows that rivals the ones in DC!

We stayed here during the Covered Bridge Festival Oct. 2012 and 2014…read more First the positives: It is the ONLY full hookup RV park in Rockville, IN. It is within walking distance of the town square and all the venders in the downtown area. The daily rate of $32.00 seems reasonable. The couple who operate the park are friendly and helpfull. The park is attractive, there is laundry facilities (we didn't use them) & bath and shower facilities if you need them ( we didn't use them either). Now the NEGATIVES: If it rains very much the park turns to lots and lots of mud, which it did the week we were there. The park is older & was designed for older RVs, ie 20-25 ft. long & only needed 30Amp hookups. We tripped the breaker a couple of times. We also had electrical problems with the park hookup as did another RVer, his kept going on and off one day. The park is owned by the operators father who if you have a problem refuses to come to the park. He shows up long enough to create a problem then leaves and the couple who run the place are stuck trying to solve what he caused, she says "you'd just have to know my dad", not a good answer. Two of the 3 entries are difficult to maneuver thru if you have a newer (and longer) RV such as a big 5th wheel. Half the park is on the LOW end of the park and if it does rain very much it becomes a real mess, one guy had to spread hay just to pull out and he didn't have a big trailer either. We had a 4 wheel drive Dodge or we probably would not have been able to pull out since we were on the low side of the park. One guy hit the metal corner post at the entry with his trailer ( mostly his fault but still it is a real problem where it's at but it's protecting the power pole that's also located at the entry) not good either. I gave this park 3 stars mainl because the couple who run it are nice and are "stuck" much like we almost were otherwise I'd rate it a TWO !!If you do reserve a site request one on the high side of the park and you'll be better off.

One of the first things I noticed when I began traveling to Putnam County regularly during my…read morefather's illness and after his death was that Rockville, Indiana is not actually far from Putnam County. While Rockville is mostly known for the Covered Bridge Festival, it's also home to Billie Creek Village. Billie Creek is smack dab in Parke County. It takes its name from the nearby Williams Creek. It's a 70-acre history museum and park with around 38 historical buildings/structures and an abundance of antiques and such. Buildings are mostly mid-19th century to early 20th century. The 1913 Schoolhouse is considered a highlight. You'll likely think of a place like Conner Prairie when you visit, though truthfully I thought more of a place like Chesterfield (minus the alternative spirituality focus). There are three covered bridges (all on the National Register of Historic Places) Billie Creek has an interesting history. It has closed at least a couple times due to financial issues. It was purchased in 2022 and is currently free to visit the buildings (though there are events that do have a price and there's a general store and a cafe in the Gaebler building now). I will note that you can visit from 8am-4pm daily, however, the cafe is 6am-2pm. Buildings include an 1830s cabin, the general store, a village bank (was a 19th century post-office), a blacksmith shop, Burr Mill, Chataqua Pavilion, a doctor's office, Governor Wright Home, a maple syrup camp, refreshment stand (built in 1911), St. Joseph's Catholic Church (built in 1886), Union Baptist Church, and quite a bit more. There are events throughout the year - the website has been redeveloped (I submitted the new link) and is quite nicely done with the schedule. Is accessibility perfect? Definitely not. These are historic buildings and accessibility simply isn't always workable. However, it's better than expected. This is also a more casual experience. Don't go expecting all the scenes and scenarios and cosplay that you'll find at Conner Prairie - this is a historic village that for me is more relaxing, more immersive, and pretty amazing to experience in Rockville (which is, in itself, a beautiful area). If you're visiting the area, Billie Creek is a great stop along with the area's covered bridges and Raccoon Lake not too far away. For kids on summer vacation, this is definitely worth a stop!

Members enjoy cheap prices on drinks at the bar (and of good quality and quantity). The food is fairly good and at decent price. There are also various activities such as joining the Dart League or signing up for country line dancing classes. This place is not for everyone and its heavily populated by the older generations; however, cheap drinks and good company are here.

So once I saw the Bureau on the historic downtown map, I went back over to check it out and pick up information. The name is a little confusing as on the wall, it's called visitor center and on the map it's call visitor bureau. The inconsistency makes it tough if you are searching Yelp based on name. The center is quite nice for a small town with coffee and restrooms available. The staff was friendly and was working on a project when I walked in, but stopped to talk and answer questions. They have flyers and maps that were helpful. There is 2-hour street parking available. The Bureau is directly across the street from the Courthouse.

All of the front desk, staff are incredibly pleasant and helpful, and the connected restaurant/bar (the fluttering duck) is very affordable, usually lively, and has great food and options for the price.

Everything I had hurt when I woke up. Called front desk for solutions and the manager Robin could have cared less. No bathroom fan. The air conditions lowest setting is 68 but it doesn't even cool to 68. Their 68 is more like 73. Great town, great potential but needs some major updates!

Our daughter is graduating this weekend from DePauw university. We made a reservation for 2 rooms…read moreover a year ago. I feel bad that it took me this long to write a review. This is our 4th stay with the Doc's Inn and each stay was always amazing. The building is old and creaky but that gives it the charm. If you're looking for square and plum walls, perfect floors and doors this is not your spot. But if you want some old world charm and want to feel that you're living in your grandmother's doll house this is your spot. The furniture and china also match the overall theme. Most rooms still have a window air conditioner but we don't usually use them. On this trip our room has access to the 2nd floor roof deck. Some rooms have a king sized bed and others have smaller ones like full, so be sure to ask when you reserve. The staff are really awesome people. Katelyn and her mom are really so hospitable. It is such a pleasant stay and the conversations are great. Finally, these folks put the "breakfast" in bed and breakfast. So far we had a great rice porridge with a slice of roast beef, a green chimichurri, some sliced fried garlic, smoked tomatoes, and a fried egg. Our second breakfast was some smoked brisket with fried eggs. Then we had a homemade biscuit, bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and my daughter had the yogurt parfait. Also each morning there is always something fresh baked to nibble on. The food is amazing and we are always happy when we are smart enough to reserve early. As my youngest graduates we feel great pride and happiness but also a sense of loss for some of the great places, like docs inn, and the great people of Greencastle we will miss.

This is a beautiful restored Victorian that has four unique bedrooms. Visit the website for pictures and explanations, but the Doc's Inn is truly amazing. Kaitlyn, the chef, or Janna, or another stand-in, will provide you with the most amazing and unique breakfast experience that you will find in any bed and breakfast. I highly encourage you to check out their website and book your next visit to the area here!
