Staff (hosts, in particular) couldn't have been much more deplorable to us about it. We understand the policy, but there's a common decency to enforcing it in one's volunteer role (wearing a DNR hat). We're not loud. We respect other people, nature, and the place. Yet, there's 40' pushers with a jeep and 2 motorcycles who apparently don't have to abide by the same rules. When our guests did leave, the hosts thanked them for leaving loudly as they drove by. The campground was more than half empty, mind you. Sadly, we will think twice about returning if there are other options. If management values people coming here to camp on their vacation time, a close inspection of customer service might be a great way to approach that goal.

This was extremely disappointing and it certainly isn't worth the entry free to just see the three mock Indiana buildings they have here. Assuming however that you agent coming here to see Indian related memorials, then this park is very cool. There are trails to hike - a working farm to visit - playgrounds to play in. Whatever you would normally expect in a State Park. So like anything else - do your research before arriving. I unfortunately did not.

The staff is friendly and willing to help anyone with anything. The campground has various types of campsites. They range from fully shaded to side by side pullthroughs. They also have a tent area reserved especially for the tent camper. There is a clean bath house which include showers. Each site provides electric and water, including the tent sites. Over all Springhill Campground and Pay Pit is clean, fun, family oriented and a very pleasant experience.

On our walk we headed up a long winding sidewalk for a mile. We still hadn't reached the end before turning around and heading back. There were so many adorable dogs on the visit. There is a bathroom (outhouse style) and a path around a couple of the lakes. It would be an excellent place to have a gathering or just for fishing. Plenty of lakes and plenty of spots to throw in a line.

A boat launch and some river bank areas provide access for fishing. No toilet or fresh water service.

Unless you are planning on launching your boat into the Wabash, there is no reason to visit here…read more I thought when it said there was a link to the trail system, it is obscure. The rest of the area is surrounded by corn fields and private property. No visible trails can be seen, but google maps indicates you may be able to cross the river via the western bridge. I couldn't see the trail from the boat launch, so I hope you have better luck than I did. Review #1145
