At check-in, I was told they "had lost their certification" with Humana, my insurance provider, and the cost would not be covered as it had been in the past. Downtown Billings, MT. office Careful this place will scam you if they think you have good insurance or money. They will tell you your teeth are rotting or something similar and blame Acid Reflux. They will show you xrays of teeth that just need cleaning but will say its something that needs expensive work. If you tell them you want to wait on getting work done or get a second opinion they will tell you they cant get you in for two or three months(which is a lie), but they can do it now. I just needed a crown and was told I needed $3K in work, but my cousin(In California) is my normal dentist and she reexamined me and said I didnt need any of what they said I did. This place has gone downhill. My bridge came loose and I asked about having a new one made. The female dentist (I don't remember her name because I saw a different dentist every time I visited) said "nah, bridges are a pain in the butt to make" . I cannot speak for everyone at this practice, but I can't speak for those who took care of me at a very difficult time for me and for them. I am from Western New York and was on vacation when my minor tooth pain became very intense. I was told I might have a fractured root before I left on the trip. I called at 7 AM on a Thursday, they got me in at 8:30 AM that day with only one doctor on staff. Kimber who assisted throughout was incredibly sweet and kind. She made me feel wanted even though I'm sure I threw a monkey wrench into their day. Dr. Rodriguez was equally kind and patient and never made me feel like I was putting him and his schedule under duress. I thought for sure the tooth would need to be pulled, but Dr. Rodriguez felt it could be saved with the root canal which he performed and had me out of the office by around 11 o'clock. I cannot express my gratitude for their kindness and patience at a time where I was in pretty desperate need to relieve the pain. I will always be grateful to these people at the downtown location. My first visit here was weird. It felt suspiciously like going into a car dealership and the up-front salesman feels you out, then sends you to their boss in the back. Don't get me wrong - they did a fine job cleaning my teeth, but when I was first called back, I had this little interview where this woman asked me what I wanted my teeth to look like 5, 10 years from now, and she wanted to sell me all the bells and whistles like teeth whitening, Invisalign, etcetc. When I insisted that all I wanted was a check-up and cleaning, she finally brought me back to the hygienist. The dentist eventually came around (wasn't Turley, but a partner), and he was pretty nice. Told me I probably need to get a crown redone but that I could schedule that in the future. All in all, it was fine - I'll go back one more time and see if the vibe is the same. If so, then I'll shop around for another place. read more

After lots of research and comparisons I decided to try this dentist based on all the good reviews and we were not disappointed! The ladies here are awesome! They move very efficiently and don't waste any time but at the same time they are caring, gentle and address and concerns that you may have. Kim was my hygienist and as I told here when she was finished that that was the most pleasurable teeth cleaning I've ever had in my life! She really was amazing at doing her job. I can't remember all the ladies' names that I met but I don't want to leave any of them out because everyone that I came in contact with was truly wonderful! The waiting area was clean with beautiful decor. They have tvs mounted that you can watch while having your work done, and they give you awesome goodie bags to take home. Went to turley on a weekend because they were the only place open. Needed to get a rootcanal done. Paid for my rootcanal and they said I'm going to need a crown to be placed on that tooth as well. So I put extra down for the crown. Scheduled my next appointment for the crown appointment, and as I was getting ready for my appointment they called a 1/2 hour before i had to be there; saying the dr. Was sick and I needed to reschedule. Rescheduled 3 weeks out, when I was done getting my crown on the lady at the front said I needed to pay for everything! Had to tell the lady the date I had last been in and tried to double charge me. She finally found the date and said "oh im sorry you did pay". After I got done paying the rest I owed for the crown, I now had a $0.00 balance once again. As I was walking to my truck I turned around and went back in to get a receipt. After 2 weeks I got a bill in the mail for $159.00!! So I called turley up to figure out this new balance I owed and they proceeded to tell me they made ANOTHER MISTAKE!!! About as good as it gets. My root canal and crown was done in one session, by Dr. THOMPSON, was relatively painless and done within my time frame. The staff were all very friendly. The office was clean, modern and comfortable. I was allowed to spread my payments over 3 months. I'll definitely will be sticking to these guys. Initially, I was referred to TDC by a friend. I had to get my braces removed(simple process). My situation was a bit different, in so much I had them on since 2008. When the economy crashed, I lost my job and benefits. This forced me to move far away from my then current Doctor. I thought a local Dentist would be able to remove them, however each one I went to sought to over-charge me. Subsequently, I had to keep my braces on my teeth till just recently. I visited Turley Dental in May of 2014. I did not want to write a review because my experience was negative, but I feel that I should let others know about what happened. My first visit for a dental cleaning and x-rays went great. I was treated well by the staff, my appointment moved along in a timely fashion, and the hygienist did a great job. I did have the feeling that the office was a little too big to really keep things personal to each patient, since I was shuffled from person to person during my visit(s). They did make the effort to keep it personal (just didn't quite succeed). The x-rays came back showing a few dark spots; some tiny cavities in between my molars. FYI, I am a person with pretty good dental hygiene; I brush daily (or twice daily), and floss nearly daily. As a person who has no training with dentistry, I trusted the dentist implicitly when I was told that the cavities should be drilled and filled. Two subsequent visits, $770.00 out of pocket (after the insurance paid; good insurance too), and several fillings later, I walked out feeling good about what had been done. I did have to go back in and get two of the fillings adjusted, which was a major annoyance, having to wait for time in the dentist's schedule to fix something that should not have been a problem in the first place. I also had a ripped gum caused by the drilling for one of the fillings, that took over a month to heal (still brushing and flossing daily). Since then, I have visited another dentist who had to re-do one of the fillings that fell out in December 2014 (fillings should last longer than that). I had to pay the entire $350 out of pocket, because Turley had completely maxed out my dental coverage (it was good coverage too). While the new dentist was looking at my teeth, he noticed the other fillings. When he looked at the x-rays that were sent, he was visibly shocked that they had been filled. When I questioned him about it, he answered that before they had drilled and filled, the little cavities between my molars would have refilled themselves with correct treatment. I would have done that treatment in a heart-beat, had I been given the option. I do not have that option now. I would like other people to know that at Turley, you get great care for the cleaning and the x-rays, even if it is a bit impersonal. But, please, get a second opinion on fillings, for the sake of your wallet. read more

Been going here for years. Really like the Dentists and staff. Needed an emergency crown replacement after a 20 year old crown decided to call it quits in the middle of a sandwich. Showed up and everything done on the same day. Even squeezed in a check up and cleaning while the crown was cooking. All in all really happy with how things turned out. Awesome staff and dentist! They went out of their way to make sure that I was comfortable and knowledge about what was going on. I actually drove 5 hours from eastern Montana to come here after terrible experiences with dentists here where I was treated like I was a waste of their time to come in for a broken tooth! Agree with a previous rating - they definitely use "car dealer" tactics and are pricey! It was apparently too much to ask to be informed that bad cement was potentially used during a procedure until AFTER the failure of 2 crowns (No mention of it after the first one popped off, only fessed up after a 2nd one popped off 3 weeks later). I realize they don't make the cement, but I expected some moral / ethical behavior about being informed regarding its potential use on me. I regret giving Dr. Turley's office about 7 years of my business, but fortunately, I finally caught on to their "true colors" in the last year or so. When the phony smiles and shine of the office started to fade and the cutting costs and corners become evident, it's easy to see this is not a quality place to go. See through the facade and save your money/benefits - find another dentist. It's probably time for Dr. Turley to retire - maybe the other dentists can salvage the practice. read more

I have been dumped into depression for years because apparently my mouth needed urgent work done, but there was no way I can afford it. Two dental practices, both in brand new extremely fancy facilities on the West End of Billings, proposed $10,000 and $11,000 treatment plans respectively for me when they were supposed to help me. The first wanted a $6,000 cash deposit before he would start. The second pushed me into a credit card to pay for a $3,000 portion of the plan, after which I was harassed to continue with the rest, but I never did. Two years later, I got the opportunity to go to a large dental practice downtown Billings - Turley Dental. They were friendly, as they all are. They did a complete cleaning of all my teeth, and advised me about matters, but assured me I'm okay. X-Rays of my entire mouth were taken, and the dentist went through all my teeth, showing me exactly what he's looking at. After an hour, the assistant who did the cleaning, and the dentist, were satisfied that I'm good to go, and that I should come back for a cleaning in 6 months, nothing else to do at all. Total cost, $100.00. The other dental practices are all extremely friendly, of course, that is how they, in their plastic friendliness, make you believe you are special and they will take care of you. It is clearly not true. They are interested in fooling you into forking over unbelievably large amounts of money. Dentists like the previous two, are found everywhere, and I wish there was a way to shut them down. Please do NOT believe everything they're saying. Turley, on the other hand, I believe at this point, is trustworthy. I can only hope I won't be disappointed in the future. read more
