This is a great distillery! They have some good spirits and a great selection of mixed drinks to with them. The staff is super friendly and if you go during off hours you will most definitely get the "guy next door" treatment. The only problem is the same one that most small batch distilleries have: they make small batches and run out of their whiskies fairly quickly after release. The un-aged spirits (rum, vodka, etc..) are always in supply. read more

So disappointed. The reviews were so good, but our experience was the opposite. The spirits were OK but nowhere near the best Colorado has to offer. And that's the nicest thing we could say. The bartender was definitely over her head, unable to describe their spirits or the process for their infusions. The area used to make the cocktails was way crowded, and not kept tidy. The icing was when she used the jigger to taste one of the ingredients and without cleaning it set it back down with the cocktail making equipment. Yuck yuck. We planned to order food, but didn't. So this is within walking distance to my house and I was in HEAVEN when they opened it up because I don't very much care for beer unless it's after I've had my hard shots first. We've walked here a few times, well actually the Brewery next to it to watch games or the one man band singing nights and I slip over to this place to get my drink on. They make a mean BM and I had some signature drink that was tasty but can't remember. It's alway dead though and usually I see like a group of 4 or 5 friends sitting at the tables chit chatting. I've never seen it busy here and I do hope it picks up so they stay in business. It's a cool place and it's very quiet compared to the Brewery next door. It's a great place to relax without noise and have drinks. I wish though they had the food trucks out more often because I always seem to miss it when it's in. Best part is I can get loaded and just walk home, which is pretty hard for us because we have to walk a Big @$$ hill while somewhat intoxicated. lol read more

My husband, and best friend went here about three weeks ago. We had only found the brewery next door through yelp, but we saw this place and tried it. Let me tell you, this place was THE place for our evening. The cocktails are handcrafted and unique (you can get a variation if needed, but do yourself a favor and try one off of the menu), and they were so delicious! We stayed for several hours playing the board games, learning about the distilling process from the owner, and even ended up having a pizza delivered! If we were not just passing through the area on our trip across country, this would be our new local hangout! The venue is amazing, so much fun, difference spaces if you have just one, two, or a group! The owner said they host various classes and such (such as yoga, paint nights, etc.). Whistling Hare Distillery is SO. FABULOUS. It's a tiny little space with the cutest little bar and some of the best darn cocktails I have ever had! The owner is very nice and happy to answer questions (I had lots). I went with his recommendation for my first drink - a deliciously spicy Mule muddled with jalapeno, and followed it up with the bloody mary, packed full of tasty treats. The location is a little bit strange, but I happen to drive by it every day on my way to/from work. It's just a few minutes off the turnpike, so don't be discouraged - it's worth the drive! read more

A fun find in our neighborhood! It was pretty quiet at 4pm on a Friday I had off work recently. It appeared that we were the first customers of the day. We each got a flight (50% off with Yelp check-in!) of 4 different spirits they make. Between us, we tried the amber rum (not good), the aged rum (delicious!), the blue corn vodka (very good, can stand on its own or in a martini), and two of their whiskeys (dang if I can't remember what they were.) One was based on a porter recipe and was very interesting, a good sipper! I really appreciated how Sandy, the bartender and the head distiller, spent time chatting with us about tasting notes and what they were working on. It got busy as it got later. They make mixed drinks here too, though some of them are odd due to the liquor license they have (they can only serve what they distill, I believe... their martini is made with lemon juice AND olives. ???) At one point Sandy had his hands full with a party of 6 who all ordered mixed drinks. He painstakingly made each one and hand delivered to their table. The other patrons who came in while we were there were fun to talk to. I enjoyed my time here and will be back to support this local business. read more

Live less then a mile away and we were looking for a close place to have a drink. They ran out of whiskey but the vodka and rum drinks were a suitable replacement. Kinda bright inside, even at night but great atmosphere. read more

Love this place! They make great spirits and thoughtful drinks that accentuate the right flavors. Awesome atmosphere to hang out in their casual distillery environment while still providing excellent service. They make vodka, rum, bourbon, and gin to name a few. I've gone back a few times because I really want to like this place. I like the location and the atmosphere. I have invited friends and co-workers to join me in hopes that this time I will be wowed like I was at the beginning, but unfortunately that hasn't happened in a long time. Service is slow so drinks take a long time to come to the table. To order another drink we have to go up to the bar even if we are at a table but that could just be the way they have set it up. I have ordered an old fashioned different times I have visited and it's never consistent. The other drinks are hit or miss depending on who is making them. read more

Had a great time here. The staff was so nice. The space was a bit small but all in all we will be going back.

Stopped by about a week ago. Real nice speciality drink selection. Definitely will return in the warmer weather to enjoy the open atmosphere & refreshing drinks! read more
