There aren't enough words to describe how incredibly blessed our family was to find Cristi! We started sessions with her when our daughter aged-out of the public, district speech program at three years old. Before Cristi, our daughter spent several months working with a district provided SLP and her speech and clarity just wasn't improving like we had hoped. Had we known the difference in the level of knowledge and care Cristi provided we would have switched long before we did! After just a couple sessions we saw huge progress in our daughter's speech, language, clarity and confidence. Ms. Christi is a phenomenal SLP. She is patient and uses sessions very efficiently. Her goals for our daughter were data driven and she used a lot of different tools such as games and activities that made learning fun. My 5 year old daughter was struggling to pronounce her R's. I sought therapy through Turvey Talkers. Christianna was patient and kind. She provided difference exercises and activities each week to challange but motivate my daughter to self correct and retraining her speech. She followed up with me to help continue the work at home. Cristi was absolutely amazing! She identified a speech issue in our 8 year old that we had been unaware of previously. I had a lot of questions and Christi talked to me about what she heard, how to correct it, and developed a great plan. She was able to correct the issue in 6 weeks of small group sessions. Our son is very shy and she was able to get him to open up and build his confidence right from the first session. Each week she sends a thorough update home electronically, along with videos, and some exercises and skills we can work on during the week. We are SO glad we found Cristi from Turvey Talkers for our 3 year old daughter! Over the last 1.5 years we've had three different speech therapists before we found Cristi. No one compares at all to her energy, thoughtfulness and especially her effectiveness with speech. We are honestly shocked at how much our daughter has progressed in the past few months with Cristi. She went from saying random words here and there to 3-4 word sentences and being able to express her wants and needs to us (almost too much!! :)). My 5 year old son was struggling with his R's. His Kinder teacher said it was developmentally on track to have that struggle, but my wife is too Type A to wait for it to get better and a big believer in early intervention. I am so glad we reached out to Ms. Cristi!! She makes Speech Therapy fun and we can see weekly improvements in his pronunciations. She taught him to be aware of the sounds and now he emphasizes getting them right on his own! Each session incorporates games and it keeps him well engaged after a long day of Kinder. Ms. Cristi also gives us simple homework assignments so we can work on what we've learned throughout the week. She has an enthusiasm for speech therapy that draws him into enjoying the work.
