Our twins started at Tutor Time right before the pandemic started. We transitioned them from a brand new daycare in the same area where we were not getting the vibe that we wanted. We immediately loved the administrators and teachers at TT and were happy with our decision to make the change. We have been impressed with their re-opening procedure due to COVID and we feel that the kids are in a safe and clean environment. We are also extremely pleased with the teachers and the activities that the kids are doing in the preschool 1 classroom. The teachers are not only helpful but extremely responsive via their App and do give lots of updates throughout the day. read more

Both of my daughters attended here. My now 6 year old started at 18 months old. By the time my second daughter arrived I felt things were going well at the daycare and decided to put my younger one in around 5 months old. At that time I felt comfortable with all of the staff. My younger daughter was being cared for in the infant room by a primary caregiver who I later observed on one of the cameras yanking a utensil from my older daughter's mouth because lunch time was over. I spoke with the administrator at the time and notified them that this was unacceptable and this woman shouldn't be working with children. At that point this particular teacher was not the primary caregiver for either kids and I felt comfortable with their primary caregivers. I felt the situation would be handled appropriately by the daycare as I really did trust the administrator at the time. Then this past year my younger daughter who was now 3 notified me that this same teacher (who was helping in her room that day) hit her with an I pad, threatened to put her in time out and threatened to call her mom all because my daughter wouldn't stop crying. This particular day when I picked my daughter up this teacher made it a point to tell me that my daughter had a "hard morning" and cried for an hour after they went to the village, which I then said oh that's not typical for her. It was typical for her to cry at drop off but not randomly during the day for an hour. The teacher told me she thinks my daughter cried because she didn't want to leave the village. After my daughter opened up to me about what happened I felt this teacher was intentionally trying to cover her tracks. Even if my daughter was upset or melting down she was 3 years old, it doesn't give anyone the right to verbally abuse her and hit her with an object. I notified the administrator who now was a different person and told her about this and I do not want that person caring for my child ever again. I was told this teacher most likely wouldn't be coming back so I assumed something else happened with more children. Months later I find out there is an open investigation about this women abusing multiple kids including in the infant room with a baby possibly having a broken leg from the abuse. If this woman was held accountable years ago these other horrific incidents would not have occurred. I pulled my daughter immediately and notified the interim admin the horror that this facility chose to keep this same woman on staff despite so many red flags and no communication with me regarding these new incidents despite my report of abusive behavior with my child notifying me she was hit with an I pad. This place has gone down hill horrifically. They will hire anyone with a pulse and do not care about the safety of the kids. The cameras give a false sense of security, unless you can stare at them every minute of every day do not trust this place. After talking with other parents I come to find out that while my now 4 year old was in the infant room with the reported abusive teacher there were other parents reporting she was "mishandling" their children (this was FOUR YEARS AGO) and she was still not fired. There were many complaints against her but she was a reliable worker in regards to showing up for work, they needed bodies since they were always short staffed so choose to keep people who should not be working with children. My daughter who is now 4 still talks about this teacher who was allegedly abusing other children as well, she tells me "Miss xxxxxx" is so mean" "Miss xxxxxx wasn't a good teacher." Run! read more

Tutor Time Itasca has been our children's safe space since 2014. In the 5 years we have been their customers, the experience has always been very positive. The facility is super clean and well lit, the staff are very friendly and professional. The children always come home well cared for in good spirits. Meals are well spread throughout the day and there are plenty of activities to keep the children stimulated. Lots of reading time, great teaching curriculum and update Apps are awesome as well. Very clean and professionally maintained facility. Teachers in infant rooms were great(Special shout out to Miss Linda who was our favorite). My little one had rough start but got attached to the teachers soon after. I liked the fact that teacher used to notice small things like swollen gums or little one not being in good mood, but sometimes it used to stress me out (worrying if something is wrong with little one's health). I soon learned to use my mommy sense to distinguish between real problems and just one off day. I think as child care provider, it's their duty to point out any odd thing. I would surely recommend this place to my friends. I only took off 1 star because it was little expensive than I would have preferred. (It's still cheaper than Bright Horizons in area). read more

My 17 month old daughter has been attending for a couple of weeks now and so far, so good. The administrative staff is super friendly and helpful. Pricing is competitive. I have only been able to have limited interaction with the teachers, but they seem nice and update the app frequently with pics and info about my daughter's care throughout the day which is appreciated. She gets excited when I mention she's going to go to school so that's a good sign as well. Certainly worth giving them a try. read more

We put our 6 month old in Tutor Time and in the 3 months she's been there we couldn't be more pleased! We visited other centers and Tutor Time's layout and cleanliness stood out by far and unbelievably they had the best pricing too! The administrators & teachers are beyond words phenomenal- they keep us updated throughout the day with several pictures, videos & text updates on the app. They do a ton of creative activities that I never would have thought a baby could even do. We do a lot of TT activities at home & when I post to social media, many of my friends are excited to try with their own kids. TT staff answer all my crazy questions about my child's development, diet, habits, etc. , point out new things that she's doing and offer great advice without making me feel oblivious. Being around the other kids, learning toys, activities and staff has definitely positively contributed to her character & development. She's excited to go to school everyday We are beyond grateful for TT and the great experience we've had so far. read more

We are thrilled with the staff and programs at Tutor Time in Itasca. We have two children enrolled there, a 3yr old and 4yr old, and they both love going to daycare. Furthermore, we have seen developmental improvements in our children that we didn't see when they attended a different daycare system last year. Poorly managed. It is really a shame, when money is clearly the only motivation behind a facility caring for children. My 2 kids went here for about 7 months, until I hit my breaking point and abruptly pulled them. Drop off here was always a disaster. My daughter at 2 years old was being dropped off with kids "school aged". Often, I would drop my 2 kids in a room with 1 teacher to 20 kids. I'm not exaggerating. I would bring this up as a concern and be told my the assistant director, Jenny, "oh well sometimes we just don't know until someone tells us"? If that is true, how could that ever be acceptable? Do you really have no idea what's happening in your center? There are fancy cameras everywhere?! Why is this place always so under-staffed? To fill staffing guidelines the directors would push around kids in a 4 seat stroller-like thing. They use their cook to fill in but still they weren't hitting the minimum kid to caretaker ratios. Food here is disappointing. Lots of beans as the main dish. Lots of yucky casserole like dishes also. Needless to say my kid was always hungry here because lots of meals were not appetizing. The teachers here are great and caring; they really are. It seems they are doing the best with what they have. I sent my son here after for pre-k. I was sold a story about learning plans and kindergarten readiness. He truly made little, to no progress. I finally realized how little school work they were doing after my teacher conference. The teacher showed the 2nd semester workbook and it was only about 1/3 of the way complete. She was good enough to date pages showing how little they used it. After looking through the book it was obvious months of use were missed. All in all, Tutor Time Itasca is really a disappointment. This place is also expensive. The understaffing; considering how much I was paying just blew my mind. Aside from the teachers some positives are the app that allows you to feel more engaged with your kids day. Although, there were many days were it wasn't used or updated at all. The center provides a class called Bobby Bear Fitness which both of my kids really enjoyed. read more

Our 1 year old son has been attending Tutor Time in Itasca full time since he was 4 months old and he loves it. Being a full time working mom, it was hard at first to leave him all day and it made it so much easier because the school has an app that they regularly update throughout the day. I can see the food he eats, his diaper changes, naps, activities, pictures and videos. I love being able to work, have my adult time and also be able to check in on the app when needed to make sure he's doing ok. As a mom, this is everything! They have lots of toys for him to play with and they do a variety of sensory activities, finger painting, circle time with the other babies, and more. My son has developed very strong social skills and is more at ease with new people and I strongly attribute this to him being in daycare. The management and teachers are also very knowledgeable, professional and they take excellent care of my son. The facility is also clean and very safe. I could probably find 100 more nice things to say about our experience with this facility. Highly recommended! read more

While my son was at this tutor time, his teacher left out a bottle of bleach water. My son and another child were able to spray it into each other's faces and breakfast without the teachers even noticing. My son then ate his breakfast which had bleach in it! In fact, the teacher had no clue that this had happened until my son told her. She didn't even believe him, but called me to let me know that he was saying this. She wouldn't even admit to me that there was a chance that he had gotten a hold of the bleach bottle because 'it was in the same spot as when she put it down'. The teacher and the director did not even call poison control until after I did and told them what poison control had said. They repeatedly tried to put a positive spin on the incident, saying that 'bleach is only an irritant' and that 'the levels used were safe'. When I discussed the incident with the director the next day, she told me that we didn't definitely know that my son ingested the bleach, only that he and the other child said that he had. The scariest thing about this whole incident was that unless my son had mentioned it to the teacher, nobody would have ever known about it! This was not the only incident that occurred but it was the final straw. My children were on the waiting list for a much better school, but after this incident occurred, I pulled them out immediately and chose temporary daycare rather than allowing them to return to this center. In one of the rooms, there were toys that had jagged metal. My daughter was playing with one of these toys and her stomach got scratched and her shirt got ripped. The director called me to let me know that this had happened, but she seemed more concerned that my daughter's shirt was ripped than she was that there was a toy with jagged metal around toddlers and that my daughter could have been seriously hurt. My son often came home with bite marks and bruises but without any accident report or mention of any incidents from the teachers. Whenever I questioned them about the marks, they would immediately blame my son and say that he was aggressive. However, whenever I spoke with the teachers outside of these occasions, they always told me that he was doing well and got along with his classmates. His 'aggression' was never mentioned until I questioned them about aggression against him. Whenever any problems occur, their first tactic is to blame the child in question. The children are under-supervised in general. While I was dropping off my son one day, there were about 8 kids and 1 teacher (much less than their standard ratio of 2 teachers for 24 kids). However, there was a boy swinging a large piece of wood (about the size of a 2x4). The teacher didn't even notice it until I mentioned it. Children are often kicking, biting and throwing things while the teachers say little or nothing about it. If this happens while parents are present, what happens when parents are not around? There is an extremely high teacher turnover rate at this school, and the director is not always forthcoming about changes. Some teachers just 'fade away' without any announcements. New teachers will appear in their place, leaving the parent to wonder if that teacher is just a sub for the day or if perhaps this is a permanent new teacher, which should be discussed with the child. On another occasion, a notice was sent out that the teacher was leaving the school, but she simply moved to another room a week later, after I had already explained to my son that his teacher was leaving. Children are allowed to watch movies far too often in the classroom, starting as toddlers. My son was allowed to watch PG movies when he was 3, without the school mentioning it to me at all-it only came out through discussion with my son. read more

Been going here on and off for four years, and never had a single issue. I couldn't ask for a better place to put my daughter!!
