My daughter informed me that during her entire pregnancy last year she had to stand during 1 1/2 hours of her daughters' classes. I asked the desk why they were allowing all these parents to stand while they all had chairs and she said that they stopped the chairs. She stated that "you always have the option to drop off your kids". Noting that the employee had her toddler at work with her and that after using Freespoke it stated that 460,000 children disappear each year in the US, I asked her what protection (locked door, safety precautions?) they had in place for us to drop off our 5 year old and 8 year old unattended in a busy center. Her child isn't even left at home with a sitter and she had no reply. It is disrespectful and inconsiderate with their "take it or leave it attitude". Especially since the employees were ALL utilizing chairs at the desk. There is no reason they couldn't put stackable chairs (that they had previously) available with the request for parents to put the chairs back when done. They aren't the only game in town and my daughter has plans to switch places soon. Disrespect!

PLEASE DO YOUR SELF AND YOUR CHILD A FAVOR AND DON NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS PLACE…read more My daughter attended pre-k for a total of 7-8months and it was the worst decision I could've ever made in my entire life, she was physically hurt, by other students multiple times, which I understand kids are going to be kids, but my issue was the adults "in charge" did not do anything to address the BULLYING that happened on a daily basis, the aggression was outrageous and not handled properly by the teachers or director Amber. She was also yelled at very aggressively by a grown man, the teacher assistant Mr.Joey on her second day, mind you she was 3 going on 4 at the time and it was her first time being away from her parents, HE needs to be fired and investigated because he's a very aggressive person, i witnessed him yelling at kids and I also saw him on the cameras pulling kids by the arm he should NOT be around kids, I let this incident go and try to give the school a second change, but things got worst, they change teachers about 3 times or more, there's no structure, the kids are out of control, there's VERY poor sanitation, expect your kid to be sick on the daily basis, because THEY DO NOT CARE TO KEEP A CLEAN SANITIZE AREA for the kids. NOW, the school director Amber Wussow DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, she's very under qualify, all of our incidents were reported to her (which I hope she still have them on file) And she was no help, the most we got from her was a "Sorry". I truly hope someone higher up reads this and does something about the school and the school staff. It's very sad that parents are leaving their kids in the hand of people that's not qualified enough to be around children. PLEASE IF YOU DO SEND YOUR KID HERE PLEASE CHECK THE CAMERAS DAILY EVERY SECOND IF POSSIBLE, I PROMISE YOU'LL SEE THINGS THAT WOULD MAKE YOU WITHDRAW YOUR CHILD IMMEDIATELY.

The coaches are very young but sweet girls and I'm sure they are excellent VB players but they don't know how to coach and develop players. They are emotionless on the sidelines and tend to focus on just one or two players. I honestly think my daughter grew and learned more from her middle school teachers than she did at MI Elite. As an organization, I would have hoped MI Elite staff would have seen that our team struggled all season to win games - we barely won any and typically lost our matches In 2 games. Why didn't our coach get some help?. It was an expensive and disappointing season across the board :(

But that doesn't make you a coach. Stonefaced, what she lacks in personality she compensates in passive aggressive manipulation. Tournaments are poorly coordinated because there is little to no communication as to the schedule, timing, location etc. Parking and seating is non-existant Attemping to communicate with the club is impossible. Reeder (the Wixom coordinator) is too busy sleeping in the office. The facilities are dirty and smell like BO! To sum up our experience... sad. Will not be back and i do not recommend to anyone. For the exorbitant price, i expected much much more.

Not a real Montessori school, demonstrates blatant disregard for student well-being. Your money…read morewon't go towards your child's education here. We withdrew after 7 weeks. Where to start... When my older son was so riddled with anxiety one day he refused to get out of the car at drop-off I knew I had to spend some time in the classrooms to see first-hand what was going on. Up until this point we had heard stories from the kids, were suspicious of the lack of work being done, and had already had a meeting with the headmaster over a separate safety issue that was going on at school. What I found when I visited the classrooms was virtually no academic work being done, the core components of a Montessori program not being delivered, and a hazardously frigid cold building. HAZARDOUS SCHOOL BUILDING. At $17k+ tuition, you'd think a school would have basic necessities like heat. I've attached a photo of the thermostat from inside my 2nd graders classroom on the day we pulled him out of this place. 52 degrees in the 3rd week of October. I was told it was "too early" to turn on the heat. See attached violation from the City of Pontiac building department for no heat and not maintaining a temperature of 68 degrees. This citation was a week after we left. Let that sink in that another week went by before they corrected the issue of freezing cold classrooms. FALSE CLAIMS TO BE A MONTESSORI PROGRAM. This school claims to be "fully accredited" and we were told (in writing) that they were a member of AMS (The American Montessori Society), yet when I verified their membership status (see attached letter from AMS) I found out they haven't even been members since 2020. NO INDIVIDUALIZED OR CHILD LED LEARNING (i.e. not Montessori). Kids had same lessons assigned. The Upper Elementary and Middle School are grouped together under the same lead teacher (we were not told this when we signed up). Montessori should have a 3 year age range, not 5. I observed my 4th grader and my 7th grader working on the same materials, and that work was way below even the 4th grade level. The teacher (Ms. Carey) admitted to giving my 7th grader the wrong math and science work for the previous 7 weeks. Ms. Carey admitted that our kids at 7 weeks into the program did not have the materials or the adult support to work on anything beyond what was setup for the classroom for the start of the school year. CHAOTIC STRESSFUL ENVIRONMENT. A Montessori learning environment is supposed to provide a peaceful and quiet environment where students can work uninterrupted for long periods of time. This environment was so chaotic and full of constant interruptions (including flying sharp objects being thrown across the room and other safety issues) that my kids were nervous wrecks. My older son's friend was hit in the face with a pair of scissors that someone threw. DOCUMENTED LEARNING LOSS. In the 7 weeks we attended this school, my kids went from having great grades and high scores on their academic testing from the end of the previous school year in Math, to failing the math placement tests for the school they attended last year. We now are paying for weekly private tutoring to get caught up. This is all well documented.

My kiddos and I have visited Jaycee park twice while their summer program kids were there, and I'm truly writing as a warning to parents because I would be heartbroken if I had my kids here given what was going on behind the scenes. The number of kids running around screaming curse words and calling each other derogatory names was honestly a bit shocking. I notified one of the girls who seemed to be in charge, because one of the boys was being bullied and I felt for him. I was just told he was new and they knew he was a problem. As I left the park, one of the kids that was being loaded into their van screamed "suck it lady." The driver and girls didn't seem to flinch. The second day, there were no less than 20 kids (some as young as 5 years old because I heard them talking) and 1 girl in charge who couldn't be much older than 18. I've worked at many childcare centers and am a teacher. That child to adult ratio is absolutely not acceptable. Please raise your standard as a childcare establishment and parents please be aware.

Unfortunately, our experience raised several ongoing concerns. There were multiple instances where our child was picked up extremely dirty, with dried mucus left on her face to the point it made us question how closely basic hygiene needs were being monitored throughout the day. Additionally, water cups were not being properly cleaned. On more than one occasion, we opened them at home and were met with a strong, unpleasant odor resembling spoiled milk. Another major disappointment was the lack of support with potty training. Initially, staff seemed encouraging, but once they were informed how frequently our child needed to use the restroom during the training process, the support quickly stopped. We were told they only take children every two hours--which is not how potty training works, especially in the early stages when consistency and responsiveness are critical. Because of this, we ultimately had to pause potty training altogether, which was incredibly frustrating. I also feel it's important to mention concerns regarding staff professionalism. The attire we observed--such as spaghetti strap tops, very tight clothing, and extremely short shorts--did not reflect what I would expect in a childcare setting. When caring for young children, there should be a higher standard of professionalism, both in conduct and presentation. Overall, while the initial friendliness is appreciated, consistency in care, cleanliness, and professionalism is essential--and unfortunately, that was not our experience.
