First off, the cafe / bakery is located in the quaint and cosy town of Richmond in Ottawa inside a historic hospital that has been converted to the bakeshop and owners home. As you enter, you're greeted by the most kind staff who make you feel welcome right away (bonus is that they are very kid friendly as well) We ordered the brunch special which was a raisin French toast, home fried, bacon and sausage along with tea and a butter tart. While the food here shares names with things you think you may see elsewhere, there is no comparison. It's next level. They baked the bread for the French toast in house and everything is meticulously prepared with real attention to detail. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed while the food quality is that of a fancy restaurant. On the way out, the owner gave out son a baked apple fritter that was so delicious. I give this place 5 solid stars for service, food and atmosphere! My only regret is not taking more photos - I will try to get some on my next visit which I assure you, there will be plenty of.
