Weekends are perfect for breakfast. This was my first time at this location, but I have tried the chain in Montreal. I took the 2 eggs with 2 meat boring I know lol (sausage and bacon for me). $11-12 is not a bad price you can pick your own meat combo. I loved that it came with a little bowl of fruits. Breakfast here are reasonably priced. Most breakfast in the area are $16-22. I did find that it missed flavour. Perfect, for your new year resolution. My egg tasted like they had been cooked in water (I know its probably not the case) (no salt here). I also found my potatoes and bacon could have been more crispy and served warm. Seems like everything was served cold. Reminds me of cora potatoes. Next time I come I will make sure to mention crispy bacon and potatoes. read more

My first time trying the place, it was a good experience. The food came fast, service was good. The breakfast bagel was a bit bland, when I added salt & pepper it turned out delicious. The strawberry French toast sandwich was so rich and satisfying. The coffee was extra charge, it doesn't come with the breakfast menu. Lots of parking spaces available. The crispy French toast makes me mad at all the other French toast I've ever eaten in my life. It's just incredible!!! The prices are beyond fair. We have been to Tutti Fruitti a couple times, both during the pandemic. We have only ever had the Breakfast Special (M-F before 8:30am), but it has been very good every time. Choice of eggs, meat, toast, and potato slices, with coffee or tea. The coffee is pretty decent for a brewed pot too. I think the price went up slightly, but that's true of almost everywhere after the pandemic - and it's still a great deal for a meal out! The restaurant inside is bright and open, and the makeshift patio is perfectly functional and quite nice nestled in the little end garden of the mall. The staff are all wearing masks and are very good at following the health and safety measures. Each time we visited, it was pretty quiet, and our food came out exceptionally quickly. I've been here a few times and I have had good experiences all times. The staff have always been great and friendly. The restaurant is clean and well kept. The space is big so it can accommodate large groups. The menu is big so there are so many good choices to choose from. The food is delicious and well cooked. I love how they ask me how I'd like my eggs benny cooked. Some places just assume or overcook the eggs. The potato hash is delicious and is a nice change from homefries served at other restaurants. The prices are also reasonable. It's definitely one of my go to brunch places to go to in barrhaven. read more

Avoid this restaurant (Tutti Frutti at Barrhaven.) It's like playing a game of Russian Roulette--You will not be assured of a pleasant breakfast experience and may regret it. Our experience began with a smug, rude, and condescending waitress. A far cry from our first experience here. The masks were off. A full restaurant and lots of waiting tips to be had. The waitresses and serving staff were indifferent to waiting customers. The waitress was so intolerable, we tried to pay for our drinks and get out of there and find another breakfast restaurant, but were met with more unbelievable rudeness. We found half a dozen people reluctantly waiting outside. We told them about our experience, and they said they had had the same mixed experience--we all left together! It's a shame Ottawa has such few good breakfast serving restaurants that we are so desperate to go to such places with smug and rude staff. I have to say waiting at the front door to be seated in a nearly empty restaurant for what seemed like 10 minutes is annoying, and then waiting 15 minutes for a tea is unfortunate as well. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a breakfast place I prefer over my own kitchen. While this place was good, the food still didn't wow me. I ordered the strawberry Nutella crepe which was a specialty item and it was good - tasted just like crepes are supposed to taste. I was disappointed by the lack of vegetarian/vegan options; however, that's usually a given at breakfast places. I almost finished my entire plate while my boyfriend's plate still looked full (not because he didn't like it but because there was so much food it took up two plates). He ordered a combo style with eggs, toast, sausage, bacon, homefries, and pancakes. The homefries tasted like frozen ones purchased from the grocery store which was very disappointing. If you're a foodie like me, you'll probably be indifferent to the food. If you're the type of person who cares more about the social aspect of eating out, this spot is pretty great for that! Came here for Sunday brunch. It was very busy but was seated right away. I ordered the Italian Sausage, Grilled Peppers and Arugula Eggs Benedict. The arugula was barely that, extremely wilted and inedible (see pic). The sausage was tasty and had a bit of spice to it. The potatoes could have used a bit more flavouring. I asked for medium poached eggs and they were cooked perfectly. The service was great - the server was very friendly. There were little flies flying around which was both annoying and concerning. I ordered the Mexican salad take out for lunch . The restaurant was empty , there was no excuse for what I received ! I paid $16 for a salad that had half the ingredients on the menu ! It had no guacamole , no black beans , no carrots , no cucumbers and no corn ! The chicken tasted like the pre cooked chicken you buy in a package at the grocery store. Incredibly disappointed ! Went here for the first time. The worst experience ever. We walked in there was a line up out the door so we went and how long the said about 15 minute wait. Well that turned into about 45mins. The staff was nice. When we sat down we asked if we wanted anything to drink. We order our drinks and everything than went fine. When it came to ordering our food. That was the worst experience ever. The waiter (also the manager) took our order. Just remember this part there is 3 of us meaning there are 3 plates of food. Well than the young couple in there early 20's walk in and side down behind us. They order there food. By this time we have been sitting waiting for food for a good 45 mins. Then our food is ready. The waiter tell the other workers to bring to table #____. As they are walking over with our food the very impatient couples behind us flags the woman down that has our food in hand and say "that our order" and of course I don't blame the lady she didn't know. So she gave them our order. She puts the woman's plate down first and she just digs in like a pig. Then the waiter comes over and was going to ask how are food is. But, we don't have it. And I tell they got our order and a this point we are all hungry waiting now for way over an hour. About to just get up and leave. The manger says we are remaking your order right away. He was apologetic. He gave us our food 25 mins after he said we are making the order again. Not to mention that the potatoes were slightly cold. Otherwise the meal was good. But definitely not worth having no meal discount or free meals. Over all we waited from the time we walked in to the time we walked out spent almost 2 1/2 hours there. I was excited when this place first opened and I understand there are 'growing pains' when you first open also,,, but its been a few months and it doesn't seem to improve. My husband and I went in for breakfast on a wednesday morning and our server was great so I thought we were off to a good start right? Nope. The potatoes were cold and the meat seemed reheated (I had the gourmet and he had bacon and sausage with 3 eggs) and it took almost 30 minutes to arrive. It was not busy at all so this is hard for me to understand. Then I found a hair in my pancake. Our server was apologetic, which is all well and good but when you find a hair in the middle of your pancake, well it turns a person off. Our meal was free but I doubt we'll be back. Anyone cooking should be wearing hair and beard nets and when I went to the washrooms I made a point of looking into the kitchen. There was a young man standing just inside the kitchen 'door' on his phone. I guess I know why our food had taken so long to prepare. I really had high hopes for this restaurant.
