Unleaded gasoline was $2.19 per gallon when I stopped here to fill up on Saturday. I didn't get to…read morego inside the convenience store portion, but from the outside it seemed roomy. I would definitely stop here again, whether just for gas, or for a drink bottle or a snack. Or even to use the restroom, but I don't know what their restrooms are like (whether 1-seater gas station bathrooms or the multi-stalled rest stops), since I didn't go inside.

The gasoline prices at the Brookshires about half a mile down the road might be lower, but their pumps might shut off after a certain time at night. The convenience store also shares a building with the Whataburger in Malakoff, which I have also visited to eat in with friends or I went through the drive-thru window for takeout. There is also a doorway between the two places (the restaurant eating area & the convenience store), so you don't even need to go outside to go from one to the other (which is great in cases of colder or rainy weather!). I think the restrooms are on the Whataburger side, but I haven't actually seen them yet. I would definitely keep coming back here, since the pumps are well-kept, & so is the Whataburger eating area.

Things happen. Today is June 11 2024. Last night I went in, bought 3 A&W root beers as they were out of 12 oz cans of Dr. Pepper. .79 cents a piece is what they cost. That equals 2.37 plus tax. I figured/assumed the young Hispanic lady got it right. Nope, she did not. I handed her a $20 bill. She gave me back $12.00 plus some change. I did not check it. I assumed it was right. Today I went back to get a DR. Pepper. I pulled out my wallet and was short a $5.00 bill. I talked to her about it. Explained I knew I would not get it back and that was my fault for not counting the change in the store. That on top of her attitude about it ensures I will never do business in that store again. And they know the register was $5.00 over. To the owner. Enjoy your $5.00. In my book, she stole $5.00 from me and she knows it. This was my go to store, right around the corner from my house. Not anymore. They will not let me give this store less than 1 star. I have been doing business at this store for at least 20 years. I am done.

King Mart, a Phillips…read more66-branded filling station/convenience store in this Navarro County seat recently added a counter, some tables and cooking equipment to produce muy delicioso street-style Mexican food - tacos, burritos and quesadillas. Hamburgers are also in the menu. There is a lot of pass-through traffic between Dallas and Houston, so the owner decided to install a lunch counter. In talking with the owner, he admitted to never having been to Fuel City in Dallas to try their tacos. Instead, he brought in a local cook to develop their own menu. The meats - carne asada, barbacoa, pollo, lengua, etc. are all fresh. They also make their own salsas - hot habenero, mild red and mild green - and keep them in a warmer. I ordered the carne asada tacos on corn tortillas (flour is also available). You can watch as the cook dips the tortillas and then fries them up on the grill. They then place a generous amount of meat, onions and cilantro on top. They are served with lime wedges. The steak was seasoned nicely, dripping juices and very tender. At $1.39 each, the tacos are a tasty steal. This place does not have table cloths, silverware or china. Be prepared to sit at a small counter with locals or grab one of the few bench-style tables.

The staff is always super friendly and helpful, the shelves are stocked with literally everything I could ever need, and the whole place is clean and well-organized. Whether I'm stopping by for a quick snack, a drink, or just passing through, it always feels welcoming. I also have to give a huge shoutout to the restrooms: they are actually spotless, which is rare for most gas stations. You can tell they take pride in keeping everything clean and comfortable for customers, and that makes a big difference. Honestly, I never leave disappointed. Definitely a solid 5-star review from me. TigerMart is the place to go!! Forget Buc-ee's, TIGERMART IS WHERE ITS AT!!

It's not often I feel compelled to write a review for a gas station, but I just kept noticing great…read morethings about this place. For one, when I walked into the bathroom, it smelled--wait for it--NICE. It smelled clean and lovely, like a nice natural cleaner that costs extra because it won't singe your eyelashes while you're cleaning. The next thing I noticed was the Sonic inside. Y'all know Sonic normally takes three times as long as you imagine it should to fry up some frozen food and put some soda into a cup. But this Sonic? This is the fastest Sonic I have ever experienced. And the cashier was sweet. I'm pretty confused overall. Maybe we visited during some freak Twilight Zone situation. Maybe they hired new people who haven't yet sunk into desperation and boredom. I can't explain it, but I was sure to bookmark it for the next time we are coming home from Tyler and need a place for gas.

We had chicken fried steak with all the trimmings. Pretty good food and very much out of the way.read more
