Then Lisa came along, and I can honestly say she was an answer to my prayers. She was kind, calm, and so easy to talk to, it felt like talking to someone who genuinely cared, not just someone there to do a job. Lisa helped us sort through everything with such care and clarity. She's incredibly organized and really knows her stuff, antiques, collectibles, you name it, she had the information. She explained what items were worth, helped us decide what should stay in the family, and gave us honest, practical advice for the rest. What I appreciated most was how she found ways to save us money and avoid unnecessary stress. She even helped us come up with a plan to sell the remaining items, which feels much more manageable for our family. She never pushed or rushed us, just steady, respectful, and knowledgeable. I don't know how we would've gotten through it without her. If you're dealing with an estate or feeling lost in the process, Lisa is skilled, trustworthy, and has a very big heart. I felt supported the entire way and we are forever grateful for her services. I wholeheartedly recommend Lisa. Margaret N.

I found Lisa of Lisa Rae Appraisals to be Trustworthy, Conscientious, Involved, Decisive,…read moreKnowledgeable, Resourceful, Caring, Kind, Open and Honest, a Networker, a Mover and a Shaker when needed! She is an Estate Services Specialist and Guide, an Estate Liquidator, and Personal Property Appraiser. I tasked Lisa with a 30-day window to accomplish an overwhelming estate clear out which involved getting a garage, yard, shed and packed 2-story house emptied before snowfall so that we could list the house for sale. Not only did she do it, she completed it on her own. She made extraordinary use of her network of resources to deal with transporting items for auction and donation. This powerhouse woman is not an organizer or a declutter specialist but she does apply those skills at the same time as she gets the job done. She is efficient and she is effective. I have never known anyone to accomplish this much in the way she did and in the time she did. I've referred to Lisa as a machine because the pace she worked, the way she worked, the decisions she made, the diligence she applied, the zigging and zagging she accommodated when faced with scheduling or priority changes was nothing short of phenomenal. Not once did she complain. Not once did she quit. Not once did she fail in her promises. Lisa is a unique mix of passion, personal experience, practical knowledge, previous on-the-job training, standards of operating and ethics. She is compassionate, considerate, conscientious of both your loved ones' stories and legacies, and she balances that with the family members' values and beliefs. Lisa is also conscious of environmental effects to avoid landfill wherever possible. She is socially conscious in helping others in society who need a hand. She is resourceful. She is well-networked which is a talent all its own. I have zero hesitation introducing or referring Lisa of Lisa Rae Appraisals to anyone. Save yourself the time, effort and cost doing it yourself. Bring her in at the beginning. Lisa can provide you with guidance and direction for the who, what, where, when and how BEFORE you start eliminating anything other than obvious trash. You do better when you know better and if I could do it over again, I would have brought Lisa's expertise in from the start. Lisa knows the tools, the techniques, the players in the estate services and liquidation services industry. She understands the behind the scenes, the reputations of the various companies and people and the systems. She works for you; not for any single alliance. She knows which connection or contact is best for your situation based on your needs. She understands what sells and what won't. She knows how to combine items to make them easier to sell. Lisa is a rare find because of her background, her history and her training. You will be hard pressed to find anyone with her mix of skills. She doesn't just 'know'; she 'does'. Working with Lisa allowed us to manage the estate with care, compassion, awareness, respect and kindness while we grieve. We did more than anyone could, should, expect of us and what we expected of ourselves but Lisa brought it all to conclusion and allowed us to finally process our grief 9 months after our loss. We met Lisa in late stages of clearing the estate after experiencing a family death and an additional family member's aging considerations but if you are ready to make progress before your end of life, contact her now. Meet with Lisa of Lisa Rae Appraisals at the beginning of your journey. Even if you never hire her ongoing services, Lisa will give you insight on how the process can be resolved from the outset. You may find (as our family did) that she was the right answer all along. Brenda C

My mother recently passed and I was looking for a good place to donate her items. I wanted to…read moredonate to a Women's Shelter or to Ukrainian refugees but I didn't have what they wanted/needed. You see, my mother liked to collect pretty things, and my family doesn't have the space for all her salt and pepper shakers, Christmas decorations, eagles, owls, wolves, chefs, dishes, etc., etc. But I didn't want to just shove them off to just anywhere. I wanted it to mean something. Thankfully, I can do that here. I came to the MCC on the recommendation of a friend who volunteers with the Yeg Water Warriors. She told me that MCC helps YWW as many other organizations in the community and beyond. I Googled them and found that it was even better than I'd been told. I can breathe a sigh of relief that the sale of my mother's beautiful things will go to good causes, as she would have wanted. Staff was excellent and helpful. We checked the store out before we left, and found it to be clean and organized. We bought candles and a jacket. I'm going to be back after I declutter my house to bring them more, because I support what they do. I think I'll buy some of that coffee too. Thanks everyone at MCC for making me feel better about giving away my Mom's beautiful, but space consuming things.
