I went 2x/week for 4 months for acupuncture and herbal tea supplement (which I drank twice a day…read morereligiously), all as recommended due to my build up of stress and wanting to get off of anti-depressants. We identified I had a yin deficiency, which I have heard from other practitioners before. I was told I have inflammation from the "heat" from the yin deficiency. All made sense to me. There was no type of improvement that I could see. I was uncomfortable during the acupuncture and was barely relaxed. I've seen other practitioners and did not have this kind of experience. I really wanted to like this practice so it was disappointing. I wanted to commit to doing it for a year, but I just couldn't hold out because I was actively suffering through the acupuncture. (And I'm a fan of it!) What really got me was that Dr. Hou would see me every week and say the exact same things for 4 months. "Tongue getting better." Or "Toenails are still dark red (low oxygen) but getting better." This on repeat for 4 months. There was no visible or internal improvement on my end. I committed completely and took her suggestions. I tried to tell her my concerns, but she had no answers for me. Just that it will take a long time and that my "cells need to grow." If I had a dime for every time I was told my "cells need to grow," here I would be rich. I understand TCM and have no issue with waiting, but the constant "you're getting better" was suspicious. I had a bad feeling about it. I was basically told to wait a year to see improvement, but the repetition felt very "snake oil salesman" to me. Not to mention, the place seems like it hasn't been deep cleaned in a very long time. The tables are uncomfortable. The prices are decent, so if you want to give it a try and see if your issues resolve unlike mine, give it a shot! I saw a lot of great reviews so I really wanted to give it a solid try. I've been treated by Dr. Wang over the years for numerous different complaints. He has a great…read moreunderstanding of body energy flow and has a very unassuming, unostentatious manner. He expertly sticks in the needles where they need to go to affect the problem zone and then gives you a little electric current/pulse in addition through the needles. Then you are under the heat lamp and listening to spa music while the treatment ensues...for about half an hour. You are flat out on the table in a zone....in and out of sleep while the acupuncture remedy is working to cure your pains.... Truly its been a great way to address the root of blockages in body energy that cause pain (as Dr. Wang explains it) or muscle sprains and injuries in normal terms. (Dr. Wang switches between Chinese and western medical terms to help people understand the root cause of pains). I can't recommend Dr. Wang's healing approach and effectiveness more highly. The fact that I have gone back for over five years and find his treatments consistently effective should tell you a lot.

I went to Dr. Hu over six months ago because I could not get relief for the pain and numbness in my leg that was caused by slipping on black ice in February of 2015. I tried chiropractic treatments, but the numbness remained. Before I resorted to the opioids and nerve blocks of traditional medicine, my sister (a functional medicine specialist) suggested that, if I tried acupuncture, my numbness might go away.  I did; it did. It was like a miracle. I am able to walk again without discomfort. Dr. Hu's skill in using the appropriate treatment regimen has been so satisfying that I intend to continue working with her to take advantage of her skill in using acupuncture to promote overall well-being.  While I still don't know how those needles work, I do get the point--pain relief, renewed energy, and overall well-being.

I showed up and they told me I didn't have an appt with her and had to go with someone else since she had a client coming in 30 minutes. When I pushed back and asked if the other client could use the other masseuse when they came, the front desk said okay. Then I began my massage, and after 30 minutes the masseuse was switched out without ever discussing this with me. When I said something upon the conclusion of the appt to the front desk the woman was nasty and unapologetic. She said the other client booked before me, so they had priority with the masseuse. She took no responsibility for the scheduling error and started attacking me, asking if the second masseuse wasn't good and what was the problem. I will not return to this establishment.
