The pieces were lifting up and it was not safe for my kids. I have had no money to do any home improvements since we purchased this home. Nick responded to my quote post and offered a really unbeatable price but unfortunately I had to cancel on him because we had a leak into our downstairs ceiling that I had to prioritize. Eventually we had two more leaks and I posted again where he commented. I remembered that he told me did drywall the last time and this time we needed a large amount of drywall to fix the damage from the leak. I legitimately have no extra money and he was willing to work with me to pay with credit card and definitely tried to give us a good deal. He ended up doing the drywall, finding a another leak and repairing the cause, installing a new toilet, and tiling the upstairs bathroom. He got this all done in a two week span. I am really happy with the work done especially with the budget we didn't really even have. On another note, I didn't read the reviews until after I had already placed half my deposit and I got super nervous and immediately contacted Nick. He was able to ease my nerves, provide an explanation when he didn't owe one to me, and showed me he was accountable and had good intentions. He is a kind and respectful man that kept his word. We will be using him again when we have money in our budget for other projects needed in our home.

Work started on April 25, 2022 and was supposed to take an estimated 5 days and $9,500. He was paid $4,750 by us, $1475 by our eastern border neighbor, and $1,500 by our southern border neighbor. I thankfully stopped the northern neighbor from paying his portion, and stopped our southern border neighbor from paying the rest of his portion. So he received: · $4,750 + $1,475 + $1,500= $7725 or · 81% of the agreed upon $9,500 for the job We are completely unhappy with the way this business has been executed for the following reasons: · He received 81% of the money and only completed a little over 30% of the job. · He told us that he'd already SPENT the money received and yet SO LITTLE of our job has been done which leads us to believe that he spent that money elsewhere. Also, he refuses to provide receipts for materials or payroll to show us where the money has gone. · The job had been estimated to take 5 days and it has now been going on 7 weeks. · He and his team only work an average of 1.5-3 hours any given day instead of working full days quickly and efficiently to get the job done. · He has had 2 family emergencies, 1 wedding, 4 sick days, and 9 days of no work without an excuse. Only ONCE did he inform us that he wouldn't be working that day. Every other time I had to contact him to ask what was going on. His working hours are terribly few and inconvenient as they drag the job out. · There is a strong lack of communication with us residents when problems arise-once regarding property lines and irrigation, and another time with regards to the removal of palm tree roots. Both issues could have been discussed in detail beforehand and NOT caused severe delays in work. · Our eastern neighbors were displeased by the untidiness of your work and the mess that was left behind, and we tend to agree. Once the back hill fence on the eastern side was "completed," you left the irrigation out of place, trampled plants, and a massive amount of dirt covering the landscaping on our side. It will take us many hours to clean up the mess and erosion caused by your work. We have already spent upwards of 3 hours as a family of 2 adults and 3 tween kids shoveling, raking, and hauling dirt, debris, roots, and other leftover junk that should have been disposed of per the contract. It will take us many more hours to clean it up and get the hill back in serviceable condition. · We will sue him in small claims court and issue a complaint with the CONTRACTOR'S STATE LICENSE BOARD who can issue fines up to $5,000 (It is illegal for an unlicensed person to perform contracting work on any project valued at $500 or more in combined labor and material costs).

I needed a one-time service done- lots of misc. work including removing ivy, removing lots of stumps, cutting/edging grass, trimming bushes, cleaning out planters, etc. He gave me a very good price and was at my home the very next day to start the work. Although I felt the job was much harder and took longer than he anticipated (especially the stump removal), he did not try to raise or re-negotiate the price. He was very polite and a really hard worker. I felt like he didn't try to rush the job, but treated my house like he would have his own. To make a long story short, I've hired him on a monthly basis for regular maintenance, and would also recommend him to fiends and family.
