This is a pool that garnered 9 world records just a head of the Bejing Olympics, where Michael Phelps got his historic 8 gold medals. Those outside the sport possibly never gave a thought that a pool could even be disassembled, trucked across the country and put back together again for competition. Let me assure you that community leaders in the Richmond area had a plan for this historic tub. A plan that would end up having an incredible price tag of 22 million. This facility would host world class swimming competitions and bring awareness to water safety in the Greater Richmond area. The pool's physical location would be in Chesterfield Co. in Ukrops Park. The naming rights would go to Collegiate School, a private school in Richmond acquired major funding for the venture. However, it is the Ukrop family who provided the major funding, and land that the CSAC would eventually set on to make this all a reality. The USA club team Poseidon Swimming host meets and practices out of the aquatic center. Poseidon with it's significant fund raising was considered serious player in making this dream come true for not only for Richmond, but for Virginia. The plan that had been agonized over a four year time frame became a reality March 13, 2012. This spectacular swimming facility boost an eight lane 50 meter pool which is the olympic trials structure. Not to be left out an 8 lane 25 yd warm up/cool down pool for competition and a warm therapy pool. Spectators are not left out in the 7,000 sq ft mezzanine that can hold up to 700 fans. Parking is plentiful all around the building. Even new exit ramps off the highway were installed to make it easy to access the CSAC. This aquatic facility is a shining example of a dream one community had to bring not only world class competition to Virginia, but also the awareness and importance of water safety. The presence and prestige of a pool of this stature is a tremendous economic boom for the Richmond area too. The GRAP Greater Richmond Aquatic Partnership manages the pool. Memberships are available to those in the community. Lifeguards and staff are friendly. Pools and common areas super clean. Overall it's a vast improvement over my NY Y. I'd have given 5 starts for the lack of interest in my complaint: Request the therapy pool (jets treadmill) guests wear headphones or buds instead of blasting their music. People yesterday all wore earplugs because one entitled woman insisted on playing her music. "We've gotten a lot of complaints about her" the desk said. Yet nothing is done. Just a simple request! I've never experienced such complete selfishness - yet they don't care and allow the space to be dominated by loud inconsiderate guests. Headphones are cheap. This person isn't autistic just a creep.

A short walk away was a cross and benches for Devotions, meditation or a Sunday service. The cabin had a fully equipped kitchen. There were Two full bathrooms and one even had a bathtub. In the middle of the cabin was a sitting area with two loveseats, a couch and large chair. Across from that in the middle were several large round tables and chairs. The cabin was equipped with a large screen tv. We only used it to show a short picture presentation,so not sure if it had cable or an antenna. We were there in November just past when the leaves hit full glory but they were still vibrant and colorful. This is a great camp. In other areas they have lots to do. Something for everyone at Westview on the James.

We are in the middle of a very bad experience with the director of the camp Denny Flaherty. Our son…read morewent to camp last week, and on his last night (Thursday) we were called by the fire and rescue squad at 12:30 am that our son was in in ambulance on his way to St. Mary's hospital. Several children were sprayed in the eyes and face with bug spray. My husband met our son at the emergency room and was there from 1-4 a.m. WE NEVER RECEIVED a phone call from the camp explaining what had happened. Not that night, nor first thing in the morning. We called the camp on Friday around 11 am to get some questions answered. A staff member answered the phone and said the director was not there and he will call us back. He also mentioned it was a "late night at the camp" and we obviously knew about the situation. I was floored, this was the response from anybody who works at a child's camp. A parent has every right to call and ask why there child was rushed to the emergency room in the middle of the night! After that phone call, we went to pick up his belongings at the camp and still had no clarity on exactly what happened that night. A staff member said we would get a call on Monday from the director. We finally spoke yesterday, (Tuesday) and he had the audacity to ask what we could possible have to say to him! He said we were harassing his staff by leaving messages to call us! He said we were contacted by the fire squad, and took no responsibility that the camp should have called us too. We still do not know the entire story of what happened. Denny was dismissive and rude and I cannot believe a "church camp" has a man like this in charge. The way he handled this situation that was scary for our family is not at all the kind of man Jesus would be proud of.

I would not recommend this daycare. Our experience was fine until moving to the 2 year old…read moreclassroom. In summary we experienced inaccurate information from the director, an abscense of supervision in the classroom that resulted in injuries, a lack of updates in the daily portal, and an overall lack of parent/teacher communication. We expressed concerns with the lack of structure in the classroom and behavior issues among several kids (ours included). We were told on various occasions "The 2 year old room is chaos" and "The staff is overwhelmed." We were also told our child is copying the other kids and just going through a phase by a teacher's assistant when we would check in. After multiple kids were placed on "behavior plans" (ours included) we were told our child hasn't shown enough improvement in behavior and we will need to leave with a week's notice. The very next day our child was pushed to the ground, climbed on and scratched all over his neck and face by another child. We were told the incident "Got rough, and the other child is on a behavior plans and was sent home for the day". We are at a new daycare and seeing their day to day operation, I am so impressed by how the classroom operates calmly and smoothly throughout the day. There is proper supervision in the classroom and we have not had any behavior issues with our child or any other child at our new school/classroom. There was no structure, leadership, guidance & supervision in the 2 year old classroom at Bundle of Joy.

There were a few things I didn't like but in this day and age unfortunately it's hard to keep staff. A lot of their staff were extremely young and had opinions of how I should discipline my child. This was brought to the Director and Assistant Director and they were able to fix this problem and I was very appreciative of their help. Ms. Ashley the Director is very nice she cares about the children and it shows. Each child from when I've drop my child off gets a hug hug before going to their classroom. I would highly recommend Tuckaway West to anyone who love a small center setting and wants to feel more like they are in a home away from home setting.

Even on my days off my oldest actually requests to go to Tuckaway to be with her friends and enjoy the activities the teachers have planned for them that day. As for my youngest, I am definitely one that is referenced as a "helicopter dad" by my friends but I can confidently say that I feel the infant teachers at Tuckaway are competent and caring which more then puts my mind at ease! The director at the Innsbrook location is very sweet and kind and the rest of the staff seem to be right on par with that attitude! I couldn't be happier with their service! I don't typically leave reviews but I felt it necessary based on how well they take care of my family!
