I figured I definitely earned one, once I have finished my route. The stand is located to the left of the lumber entry/exit, which is on the right hand side of the store front. The owner cooked my Honey Bourbon Sausage to perfection, nice charred areas. The sausage was really tasty and only set me back $3. This thing was giant, longer than the bun by an inch or so. He has a good spread of condiments on the side table with relish, chopped onions, sauerkraut and hot peppers. To the left of the stand, two rows of picnic tables await. This reminds of the after-hours dog stands by the exit of night clubs, only this one serves more of the working type. The menu has a few options of dogs, sausages and brats, including meals deals that include chips and a drink. The dogs are served in an aluminum foils, which become my plate. If you need lunch and something from Home Depot, plan to eat at A&J's you won't be disappointed or broke.

Take-out places throughout downtown are dominated by chain restaurants; few if any meeting that criteria. I am so happy that I found this place. Walking around, I tended to be cautious and skeptical of food cart offerings and as this place is the in the middle of the pedestrian mall I passed it several times before stopping. It is fixed kiosk with all the amenities of a small restaurant. The food is extremely fresh and tasty, the service is very friendly and you can get an awesome meal for less than $5 bucks! I now go there frequently. My staples are the Chicken Caesar Wrap and the Turkey Spinach Wrap. I have also had the Mediterranean Pita and the Apple Walnut Salad. All have exceeded expectations. The kiosk also offers a rotating soup of the day (if you're lucky to hit a Jambalaya day; it's the best), Caesar Salad and a few other things that I can't remember just now. All of these items are $4 or less (soup is only $2) and they usually throw in a small cookie. All around, for take-out lunch this is a near perfect option. While I usually have to run back to the office, there are patio chairs right there in the middle of the mall and it's a sunny spot even in the colder months. Finally, the kiosk supports the main restaurant in Englewood which is a non-profit where anyone can eat regardless of ability to pay. (Pay what you can, or if you can't pay, volunteer for an hour or two.) I have not been to the restaurant, but it's great knowing that my lunch supports such a great cause, as well.
