I am writing to formally express my disappointment with the most recent catering service provided by Silver Spoons. I have used Silver Spoons on five separate occasions in the past, and until this last event, the service had generally met expectations. Unfortunately, my most recent experience fell significantly short and demonstrated a lack of professionalism, planning, and customer service. The delivery driver arrived at our office at 9:53 a.m. for a lunch scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Despite Silver Spoons having catered at our office multiple times before, the driver was unable to locate appropriate parking or navigate to our floor. I was forced to leave an important meeting to assist him and coordinate access, resulting in a loss of valuable work time. Given the early arrival, I expected the food to be kept at a safe and appropriate temperature. However, the driver did not have any equipment to keep the food warm. When I contacted your office to request heaters, I was told they would need to be delivered separately because none were carried in the delivery vehicle. This should be standard practice when arriving nearly two hours early. When I later shared my concerns with Emily, I was told that heaters were not listed on my order. My response was simple: if a company chooses to arrive that early, it is their responsibility to ensure food quality and safety, regardless of whether it is explicitly stated on the order. The quality of the food itself was also extremely disappointing. The chicken and beef tips were described by multiple employees as tasting like a poor-quality school meal. This was particularly frustrating given the cost--$2,700 for a lunch that did not meet even basic expectations. What was most troubling, however, was the response to my feedback. Rather than attempting to resolve the issue or acknowledge the inconvenience caused, I received a defensive and rude email. After 20 years in this industry, I can confidently say this is one of the most unprofessional customer service experiences I have encountered. Between assisting with parking, coordinating setup, and addressing service failures, I lost nearly two hours of my workday. Good customer service is not just about fulfilling a contract--it is about accountability, communication, and making things right when problems occur. Unfortunately, Silver Spoons failed in all of these areas. Due to this experience, I will not be using Silver Spoons again, nor would I recommend your services to others. Silver Spoons was easy to work with, and the presentation of the items we ordered was overall, quite lovely. Because this was "takeout" I was expecting it to be served on those round plastic platters. However it was served on beautiful rectangular tile pieces that had been refrigerated and kept everything nice and cold. These dark (black and dark gray) tiles made a stunning backdrop to the elegantly presented foods, Their charcuterie platter was fantastic. The Mezze platter, however was just ok. I wish we had ordered double charcuterie or another one of their platters rather than the Mezze. The tri-colored cherry tomatoes were overripe (as in mushy), and the cucumber and assorted pepper slices were paper thin. They just didn't hold up. Pepper slices were so thin, and with the other things on the platter, they too got mushy. Our third item was bruschetta and that was a big hit. So in review: charcuterie and bruschetta... yes! Silver Spoons catered my 60th birthday party on New Year's Day - brunch with breakfast taco bar. Julia was incredibly helpful and easy/fun to deal with. The food was delicious with some of the best fruit I have tasted since summer. Tiffany, who ran our show, said they went to special farmer's markets every week to get the best (the kind King Soopers can never get). All the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Tiffany was a delight and great to have in our home. She kept things clean, refilled, and orderly. It snowed the night before and she even swept some blown snow from our porch! I can't even tell you how many people complimented the food and asked us who catered it! I recently used Silver Spoons for a small birthday party (15 ppl). From the "Disposable Party Platters" menu we had the Mezze Platter, Chicken Skewers, Balsamic Roasted Veggies, Artichoke & Jalapeno Tart Platter and ASSORTED MINI DESSERTS. Everything was flavorful and beautifully presented. I would have doubled the chicken skewers given many people had two vs. one (can't control that). They showed up a few minutes ahead for the setup time and the team member did a nice job arranging the spread, and advising on warming the skewers and tarts. Be sure to understand all the various charges on the first consultation call so the estimate isn't a surprise. I reached out to them just one month before my event, looking for a caterer to provide passed hors d'oeuvres for a fancy cocktail reception. Tiffany responded right away, we had a consultation call the next day, and Tiffany sent me a comprehensive proposal the day after that. I really appreciated how attentive, proactive, and efficient she was, and how smooth the entire process was, from start to finish. Silver Spoons is woman-owned, which is a huge plus, and they recommended a woman-owned bartending company, which was also great! The staff during the event was absolutely lovely. They had just finished setting up the stationary appetizer table and made it look super cute, chic, and rustic with decor that they'd brought with them, when it started to rain! (Thanks, unpredictable Denver weather!) They immediately moved the table to a covered area. I was really impressed by how adaptable and professional they were. I spent the whole duration of our event standing by the door and greeting guests, so it wasn't too long before I was starving and dying to try all the great food that all the guests kept raving about. The staff was awesome enough to bring me little plates full of the delicious appetizers! The havarti pastry tarts with fig jam are out of this world, and the Greek Magic Wraps are full of flavor and actually filling, as opposed to so many vegetarian options on other caterers' menus that are bland, unimaginative, and obviously just an afterthought. The dessert shooters were a huge hit! So creative and so much more fun than just the usual cookies and brownies! I lost count of how many guests asked who catered our event. Julia and her team were a pleasure to work with right from the beginning. We'd never hired a caterer for our holiday party before and Julia made it very easy by advising me on creating a menu that all our guests would love! She gave me honest feedback about how much we should order and what would be too much. When I called Julia the day before our event with allergy information for one of our guest she walked me through what would and wouldn't be safe for that guest to eat and even relayed all the information to the employee that was going to be at our event. On the day of our party the caterer arrived and made quick work of getting all the food out and displayed beautifully before our guest arrived and even brought some festive decor to display along side the food itself.
