Frank did show up for the estimate, but when I asked about pricing for different options (A vs. B depending on cost), his response was, "well, if you don't know what you want you're just wasting people's time." Not only dismissive, but downright rude. Then, as we were talking, a Hispanic father in an older white truck parked near my home (across from an elementary school) to wait for his child. Frank's comment? "Oh geez, you call this guy too." No, sir, I did not, and frankly, that assumption was offensive, unprofessional, and a little bit racist. His estimate was higher than others I received, and to top it off, it didn't even include re-seeding or replacing grass. Instead, he brushed it off with a suggestion to just "do wood chips." I left the interaction creeped out, disrespected, and absolutely certain I would never hire him despite a neighbor's recommendation. Politeness, respect, and professionalism go a long way, and unfortunately, Frank showed none of them. Avoid this place.

This is my second project I hired Dahl's for and again I was not disappointed. Since my job was a…read moresmaller one, I made sure to get under contract before the season was on us, which meant I could be fitted in between larger jobs, and sooner than if I had waited to book them. They show up on time, ask me good questions and make sure I am happy all along the process, and they do a great job! If not for the straw laid down to help the grass seed, I would not see any signs of their work due to the cleanup they are careful about. Thank you to Steven, Nate and Brandon for their hard work and kindness all along. I had paving stones similar to my last project, so see the photos for examples. This time the work was in a different area of the yard, and it is covered up with straw so pictures don't do much good. However, trust me when I say it is quality work. I highly recommend Dahl's, but get on the schedule asap as they fill up for the season faster than you would hope.

They did replace the tree but unfortunately it was much smaller and we will have to wait for a few years to get any fruit. They did take $100 off for us to plant it ourselves. There should have been way better communication between the owner and staff so this didn't happen in the first place. The lead landscaper that was here working with the other guys said he "didn't bring his notes". We get mistakes happen, but you should probably show up with at least your notes to a job so you know what was asked to get done. Multiple areas the grass seed did not come up, so now we are left with weeds in spots we didn't have weeds before. The crushed granite patio has bare spots where the weed barrier is coming through. It's a very thin layer of stone and obviously not compacted tightly. They told us it wouldn't shift, we wouldn't have problems. It's been 3 months since it was put in and we already have an issue. We have tried calling and emailing several times for 2 months. We did get 1 call back that said they would come out to assess but it rained that day and they never called to reschedule or come out. Since no effort has been made by Dahl's landscaping to correct any of this, we will be forced to hire someone else to finish the job having to spend more money after being charged over 10k for something to be done correctly.

They didn't finish mulching the end of our landscaped bed and claimed they didn't know we'd want it done. We had to have them come back 4 times to fix what they said they would do in our contract and then we gave up on them. They are all about cutting corners and doing the cheapest job possible. Now it's spring 2017, you can't even tell we had paid for them to mulch in Sept 2016. We are pretty much where we began, only a couple thousand dollars lost.
