Our guide, Sean, was fantastic from start to finish. Before the trip even began, he was extremely communicative with my friend who made the reservation, ensuring we knew exactly where to meet, what to bring, and what to expect. As someone who appreciates clear logistics while traveling, this was greatly appreciated. Upon arrival, we met our fellow paddlers, many of whom were fellow National Park enthusiasts visiting Congaree for the first time. Everyone was friendly, excited to be there, and Sean helped create a welcoming atmosphere before we even launched our canoes. For a little context: I am absolutely terrified of snakes. In fact, during my first visit to Congaree a couple of years ago, I considered doing a canoe trip but ultimately chickened out because I couldn't stop thinking about my slithery nemeses lurking nearby. This time, I decided to be brave. While several members of our group did spot snakes along Cedar Creek, everyone was incredibly understanding of my fears. When one was spotted, my canoe companion and guide were kind enough to help turn our canoe so I didn't have to see it. It may sound silly, but it made a huge difference and allowed me to actually enjoy the experience rather than spend the entire trip anxiously scanning the shoreline. And enjoy it I did! Paddling Cedar Creek was really scenic and surprisingly relaxing. Between the reflections on the water and the towering trees at times, I felt like I was in a scene from The Notebook. If you're visiting Congaree National Park, I highly recommend adding a paddle trip with Palmetto Outdoor to your itinerary. Great communication, great guide, great group, and a fantastic way to experience part of the park that most visitors never do!

The paddle was leisurely and Andy had a lot of good information about the park's history and ecology. He takes care of all the setup so you don't have to drag a canoe at any point. The cost was a good value for the experience. I would recommend it to anyone looking to visit.

Then gave me some spots to park but too far I couldn't use the showers or pool without help. I was new to nudist. It was at first frat like fun for adults. I had men slapping me on my ass including the owner's husband. So I slapped anyone back who did to me first. I thought it was playful. I did for several years. Then I was kicked out. Not once was I told this wasn't acceptable. They used this after I complained about Ada rights. I tried to fight for the disability harassment but got too sick from the stress they caused me to continue. I was hospitalized.

US Army/Retired and happily single- go check the rates page for why "I" would not want to go here when another great SC park welcomes ALL folks with a consistent rates no mater your sex/age,... if you had a great time at Cedar Creek, well they must have liked you I guess- you fit their criteria. As for the clothing optional environment ( I did not know they "went there"),...., I could care less though it is ODD for anyone to want to spend the $$$$ and be clothed around nudists, you can be a LOOKIE- LEW at local gyms for under $50 a month in the locker rooms, and go every day ! LOL!!! (why I don't go to the local civilian gyms, tired of complaining to gym management about this really suspicious behavior and nothing is done to stop it) *CHECK their Rates page and draw your own conclusions and then compare with other parks in South Carolina be a well-informed patron. Always check links to see just what each park Identifies with. **Better nudist environments to go to in SC, even if they are a bit farther still great for a day trip and consistently warm and welcoming family environment membership that does background checks on all those wanting to enjoy a healthy naked environment which is what this whole lifestyle is traditionally about. As for the 3 stars, probably too kind. I tend to stick with AANR, American Association for Nude Recreation approved parks- their logo is always clearly posted proudly on parks' websites.

We wanted to try the bar on property but it never seemed to be open even during the stated business hours, that was annoying. My room was on the 2nd floor and had 2 queen beds, a chair and a dresser with fridge. Features I appreciated... the full length mirror on the closet door, double shades on the window, hairdryer, magnifying mirror and bathroom nightlight. No coffee maker in the room, there are some for guests to use in the hallways on each floor though. Be aware that some rooms have skylights with no cover directly over the bed. My room did not, thankfully, but a co-worker got a room like that and was very uncomfortable and of course the sun blazes in at first light right in your face. That needs to be addressed, imho. Enjoyed the walkability and location. Valet parking only as is typical of this area of Columbia'.

I didn't know such a thing existed, THEN I saw the HINGES on the bathroom stall doors- seriously, what is going on- I love historical architecture and I have NEVER seen hinges so ornate! Then I looked up- copper paneled ceiling and the floor was gorgeous too. And there was a chandelier. I mean- the bathroom stunned me. Tomorrow I want to look around the other spaces more to find other gorgeous details!!! And seriously- imma need to ask for a tour upstairs. Show me MORE! PS- staff is wonderful for this event!
