Registration for the team was done online and wasn't too complicated. Before our first game we had to obtain players cards - the process was easy and only took a few moments. It was also easy to get another later in the season when I lost my original one (whoops!). You are required to give the card to the employee out of the field before the start of the game so they know that every player on the turf is registered. We played the full season and our games ranged from around 6PM to as late as 10PM. 10PM is brutal especially during winter. It was freezing outside and freezing inside. No matter their efforts the field area is still quite cold. My team and I warmed up in the bar area but a dedicated warm up space would be really nice as the bar area was quite crowded most times and made finding a place to stretch hard. We didn't have any of our games rescheduled so I appreciated that as I was worried we may face that concern. Luckily our schedule remained the same throughout the season. I will say as a new player the inconsistent refs were a challenge. One game a penalty would be called, the next nothing. One game they would add players based on the time elapsed and the score, they next they would tell us that only happens in the children's leagues. Not very helpful for those of us brand new to the game and trying to learn the rules and flow. I will say what I appreciate the most about this place is how understanding they were. I was asked to play on a team the following season and after one game realized it wasn't a smart move for my foot. I called and explained my situation and the employee was nice enough to refund my money for the season and let me off the hook of playing. That was very kind. I got a check in the mail about a week after I called and I was grateful for how easy they made it. I appreciate the customer service and it kind of out weighs the awkward parking, cold field and inconsistent refs.

At the end of the month I felt much improvement. The facilities are fantastic! In the Physical Therapy part the equipment is top notch and the staff keeps all the tables and machines sterilized after each use. The other parts of the Sportsdome looked very intriguing for use as a year-round practice facility. There was soccer practice field, a 3/4 size football field, basketball courts, volleyball courts, golf practice area, baseball facilities, plus other areas that we were unable to see. There were tables outside of the practice areas so the parents could sit and watch the children practice through large glass floor to ceiling windows. They even have a snack bar with alcohol sales for the parents to pass the time while waiting for their kids to finish. Reno really needed this kind of facility to give the youth somewhere to practice yearly. It's nice to have the rehab facility right there if a child gets injured.

So many parents, siblings, and other relatives are on the sidelines with the biggest smiles on their faces you can't help to be happy. Rounding up so many little blessings to play soccer is almost impossible but that's part of the fun. You never know how a kid will act in the beginning. My daughter isn't the most social little girl but even by the end of a 30 minute class she is excited and happy. What else could you ask for? Little leapers is gift I hope every parent gets to experience.

Classes are 45 minutes long and the coaches are great! It gets the kids energy out as it not only is physical but with toddlers it teaches them to listen and follow directions! They teach them warm up drills, color matching, run after hula hoops, kicking the ball, stacking cones and knocking them down with a ball. Every class is different! Is toddler-parent centered so you get to be in the field with your little one! You pay annual fee and then you pay a separate fee for the season such is about 2 months long. This can all be found in their website. Once walking into the sportsdome you are greeted with people watching from the outside looking into the different games, kids and their patients sitting at tables eating, or just hanging out. On the left side is a big indoor field and the right the field is divided in half with a net, that is where soccer sprouts is held! If you continue go to straight you pass by the hangout which serves food and at the end you'll see the basketball courts. Living in reno this is a facility to host outdoor sports inside! It is a big facility to host different sports or even events! Parking is spacious which is nice compared to the north location. We are happy that this location is close to our home!

We knew that indoor soccer is aggressive as we have an older daughter who played for several years in a different state. The referees where we used to play may have missed some calls, however never was a player left on the field when they were down and injured. Tonight my son was shoved by a straight arm push into the boards. No call was made even when my son did not get up. The parents, coach and players were all screaming at the referee that a player was down and still the referee ignored the fact that a player was not getting up. When the opposing team's goal keeper finally got the referee's attention, the referee finally stopped the play to check on the player. When my son still was not able to get up unassisted, our coach was called over to help him off the field. This athletic center was ill equipped to handle injuries even though this is a contact sport. Their first aid kit did not contain ice packs to provide basic first aid. This is not the first occurrence with poor game management and refereeing by the assigned official. Having been involved with soccer for many years and having a husband who is a certified referee this brings up the question of what level of proficiency the officials associated with this establishment actually possess?

Snacks, drinks, toys, etc. There was a food truck in parking lot for those wanting a bit more than arena food. There were bleacher seats to sit on or a balcony area (for a higher ticket price). There is a bar that I didn't go to. A few local vendors selling random items behind the bleachers. The audio/visual system worked well enough to hear the announcements and see the scoreboard.

Usually if you fight in a game you're not allowed to play and are suspended but if you're family rules don't apply to you! As for the fields they're always in terrible conditions because they do tend to have bailes, events, parties, anything really the night before games which leaves them little time for a quick clean up which really doesn't do much. My son has been having fun with great basin youth soccer league for the past few years…read more Like most leagues, it's sort of volunteer run when it comes to the teams and coaches but the field staff that sets up the games each week is top notch. They've done a great job improving the field and making sure that kids get more game time then time chasing the ball all over with the addition of the bumpers. The first season they didn't have the bumpers in place but in the past two seasons, we've seen them, and they've proven to be a huge Improvement. The teams are manageable sizes and the kids all get a lot of time on the field. The coaches do their best to run practices and consistently teach the kids at the appropriate levels. My son is super engaged when at practice or the game. Sure, you still have to lug a lot of stuff from the parking lot to make it comfy, but it's a blast watching your kid enjoy their time playing the game.

Nice use of the old stadium property…read more Since the new Ace's ballpark was built downtown, this spot has been converted to soccer fields. The space actually looks much improved- well maintained grass, new fencing and elimination of deteriorating buildings. This sight has a regulation adult field and two junior fields. Plenty of easy parking on both the east and west sides of the fields. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, lawn chairs, and your own shade. There are no trees for blocks and only grass to sit on. But now, it's been turned over to the more exciting and captivating sport of soccer. Yes I LOVE baseball, but soccer has grabbed my attention. The immediacy of each touch and second makes it a nail biter even when it's a scoreless game. So we were here for a UNR women's game against St. Mary. The UNR women were dominated the whole first half but were able to make the right substitutions and bring the game home 2-1. It was a good game....but it would have been better to watch at Mackay where everyone can see. These fields are better suited for the family size games where it only get's "one deep" on the sidelines. Of course the advantage here is that you are REALLY close to the action, as opposed to having the action across the track and on the field at Mackay. As I said in my tip, the grass is pretty nice too. Parking was plentiful when I was there, but it may be horrible when the family goes down there for the youth soccer weekend games. Our daughter is on bigger fields, bigger fields that aren't as nice. You can tell this whole space is still in a slow process of re-purposing with the empty foundations and the now oddly placed park structures all about. But the park is really coming along and we look forward to more improvements in the future!
