This was an absolute blast! My 15 year old son and I took the two hour ATV tour with the trap shooting. We're both familiar with shooting shotguns and trap but my son was new to the ATV. Cassie, our guide, did an amazing job making sure my son was comfortable and she maintained a speed suitable for him until he gain more confidence. Safety and customer comfort were on the top of her list! The property is absolutely beautiful. Cassie stopped at several spots to point out wildlife tracks or other items of interest. When we got to the trap range, most of the equipment was set up and we spent some time blasting clays. Then back on the atvs for more riding. Time flew by and before you know it, we're pulling back into the lodge area to say our goodbyes. If your in the area and are looking for something fun and exciting to do with half your day, you got to try this place!

First time at this awesome ranch. We came up for a few days on 4th of July. We booked an AtV tour on Friday July 5th and we happen to be the only group. It was just our small family of 3. Grant the young man who took us on our two hour AtV adventure was a great guide. He stopped at different areas of the ranch to give us a little history. At the half way point we stopped at a cute little set up with water and snacks. Also a chance for my wife to catch up she wasn't as fast as my son and I who shared one ATV. Our 7 year old was too young to drive one of the big AtVs. He was a bit bummed about that. So when we returned to home base Ken the owner had a small AtV ready for my son to ride. He was super thrilled. They even gave him a surprise parting gift! Such a fun family experience. Will def bring friends and fam to check this place out.

We had a fantastic day here! My husband and I did the two-hour ATV tour along with about 30 of my co-workers. All of the staff we encountered were so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The ride was a long one, and even with our large group, they made sure everyone was accounted for at all times and no one got lost or mistakenly detoured. The terrain was perfect, with just enough turns, small hills and whoop-tee-doos along the way! The scenery was awesome. Definitely plan your clothing accordingly as you WILL get very dirty, but that just adds to the fun. They provide you with all the gear you'll need, but you can bring your own riding gear if you wish. Husband and I are definitely interested in returning sometime on our own to do the snowmobiles.

A little dirty after atv tour at explore sierra.

What a blast!! Ken and Kathy made us feel right at home and made sure we had everything we needed for our atv tour. Great trails, great views and a great time had by me and my 2 boys. Hope to go snowmobiling (if it snows again)! Do yourself a favor and bring your friends out here for a truly great, albeit dirty adventure.

My husband and I had an incredible time! Ken and Kathy were great guides, and the tour was beautiful! I would recommend this to anyone looking to escape the city for spectacular views and quality time with loved ones and nature. There were a few times when we tipped over and had to dig ourselves out of snow, but Ken and his employees were super helpful. I recommend asking about the conditions before the ride. Overall, this was an experience we will never forget! We had a blast!

I remember taking the mine tour and being amazed that it is a part of our local history. I met some friends on a chilly Friday evening for drinks and karaoke. There was quite the crowd already at 8pm and I could tell it was a popular local watering hole. All the patrons were singing along with each karaoke guest and having a great time. The bartender was a very nice guy that was doing a great job keeping up with everyone despite being the only one behind the bar that night. We made sure to tip him well. He was slinging fresh cocktails, fresh draft pours, and some ready to drink cocktails. A couple of us put our names and song choices in for karaoke, the DJ had pretty much everything available to him. The songs ranged from classic rock, classic country, modern rock, modern country, 80's chart toppers, and some obscure songs that a number of locals got pumped up to hear! I got up to belt out my raspy rendition of The Promise, it was fun to get to 'perform' in front of a crowd again. A couple others in my group sang their hearts out as well. We will be back soon!

I stayed at Upper Jamison Creek, and loved it. I made reservations about a week ahead of time on Reservecalifornia.com My site was very spacious, private, and well shaded. There were lots of redwoods on my site, some purple irises, and even some snow plant. There are a few lovely short trails that run throughout the park, like the one mile hike from the campground to the Visitor Center, or an extra mile to Camp Lisa or the Jamison Mine Complex. From the historic mine complex, the PCT is just three miles away. Or, you can also drive to the trail head and park there. In the other direction, the Trail carries on to a series of alpine lakes and waterfalls. Like other reviewers have said, it was very cold at night. Even in June, I needed both sleeping bags. There are several other amazing hikes within driving distance. If you look carefully, there are some free campgrounds, too. The only time this state park charges fees is to camp at the nicer campgrounds. All parking is free. Showers are free. Plumas Eureka is more accessible than some state parks. They Reserve disabled sites for people with disabled passes, which is something to keep in mind if you have a pass and are looking for a site at the last minute. Lots of gorgeous lakes and opportunities for kayaking, too. Pretty much as good as it gets for a state campground.

They paved the way for people like both of my grandfathers whom came to the United States in 1906.
