I've rented tools twice from them now, and I know tools. Both times.., excellent service and tool quality. I had never used them before, instead I had used the other place in Ludington to the east, same road. I went into them for a metal detector, which they didn't have. Not that the one they had was rented out, they just didn't have one. So I asked if they thought Tye-1 Jay would have one, whom I had never rented from. Bad question, the Grand guy basically couldn't say enough bad stuff about his competitor. I thought, REALLY.!.? So I went down there and the men behind the counter were knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful. After completing the transaction I told them about my "just prior" experience at the Grand place. Well I thought between those two exchanges Tye-One-J Rentals was the class act and are now my first choice of places to rent from when in need. Not that I wouldn't go back to the place to the east, I'm just not into people who seem to need to do their business by making disparaging remarks about "The Other Guy". So I read the other reviews before I wrote mine.., all I can say is when it comes to tools I found them to be very adequate.! read more

Larry delivered the trailer in a very timely manner. However, if he had some assistance, he may not have had to open the canopy so close to the fire pit that we could not make a fire. The trailer was clean and in great condition. Larry is still a good guy when called for help. The 'IMPORTANT NOTES FOR YOU, OUR VALUED CUSTOMER" sheet could be clearer. It reads Camper includes: toaster, coffee pot, basic kitchen utensils, 4 place dish settings, basic pots/pans. I would add: 1 roll toilet paper, no paper towel, no trash bags, no coffee filters, no dish soap, no ice trays. THIS WOULD BE EXTREMELY HELPFUL. Larry and Cam, not sure of the spelling of her name, went above and beyond to help us with the outdoor canopy lights that needed replacement that were not working. It would also be helpful if Jim, the owner, could use better phone manners when speaking to customers on the phone. read more

We rented a camping trailer from Tye-One-J Rentals in July, 2019 and were very pleased with the system. We have camped at L.S.P. many times, but since moving to Arizona 7 years ago we could no longer drive with our camping gear. We rented a cabin on Lake Hamlin several years and it was fine, just not so convenient to the State Park, where family members were staying. We saw the T-1-J campers advertised and decided to try one this year and it worked out great. Larry and Jeff did a great job of placing and removing the trailer for us. The only 'issue' was that cell phone service in the campground is not good, so it is good to pre-arrange the times when you go to town. Cost wise, looking back at the cabin rental in 2017 vs. the camper rental and cost of the camp site at L.S.P. this year, the camper rental + state park was $160. less. read more

Delivery and set up of the trailer was very efficient. Set up was 20 minutes after Tye-One-J was notified that the campsite was open for occupancy. The trailer was in great condition. The propane grill is a nice add on. Washing dishes in the outdoor sink in the trailer allowed us to use park tap water, instead of draining our tank. Also we were able to dispose of dishwater in the back of the site which prevented us from overfilling the grey tank. It was great that the trailer came with a large outdoor ground mat for under the awning. As we had two severe rainstorms and it helped prevent dirt from coming into the trailer. This trailer was a 28 Ft. Salem Camper with Awning, and Slide Out for plenty of room and sleeps 8. On our next trip to Ludington State Park, we will rent this trailer again. Nice Job. read more

We recently rented from Tye One J a camper. The service from the company and the product rented was very good. Our delivery person, Larry, was very nice and delivered the trailer within the timeframe that we discussed. Larry was very knowledgeable and went over everything with us. He delivered several other campers to our campground and checked in on us to make sure we were satisfied. We did not have power to our outlets inside the trailer. I called Larry and he answered right away helping us quickly resolve the problem. Tye One J provided us with a worry free and great experience. Several people within the campground stopped and inquired about the rental. We were very happy to tell them about the great experience we had and will rent with them again next year. read more

My family was in Ludington to camp for a week and rented a camper through another site. It was an old camper but NOT well kept. We could not stay in it (smelled of mold and mildew). Instead of scrapping our vacation we went to Tye-One-J and were able to rent a BEAUTIFUL and CLEAN (!!!) camper for the week and get it on the site the same day! The owners were very nice as well as all the people we encountered (repair guy for the awning motor that was fixed within a day, the pick up guy and even the brother of the owner who was in the same park, came to check in with us and see if everything was good). Being able to rent this camper saved our trip and made our vacation SO much more enjoyable. I would definitely rent from this company again! Thanks! read more

We rented a 28 foot travel trailer with one slide out for one week to be placed in Ludington State Park. The trailer was clean and beautiful on the inside. One of the smaller cupboard doors was loose, so we just did not use that one. The trailer was placed in a perfect position on our lot, we had no issues whatsoever and everyone we contacted regarding this rental seemed friendly and knowledgeable. Not only will we be renting from Tye-One-J Rentals again next year, we will have at least two other families doing the same. read more

We sold our pop up camper a couple years ago, but didnt want to miss our annual camping trip to ludington-going on about 15 years now, and not ready to purchase a new camper yet,.or tent camp again :) My sister had rented a camper from Tye One J a couple of years ago and were very happy, so we decided to give them a shot...so glad we did! My family rented a 28 foot trailer for a week of camping at the state park. The man I dealt with over the phone was extremely pleasant. We gave our site number prior to arrival and when we arrived the trailer was all set up and ready to go! Air was on and everything was extremely clean and well-appointed. Camper we reserved came to our campsite within minutes of our arrival to the campground. The delivery driver was very polite and helpful with explaining the inside and outside workings of the camper. The cleanliness of the entire camper was amazing and the kitchen stocked with cooking utensils and plates and coffee maker really was surprising. I used TYE ONE J RENTALS for the first time this summer. We rented a camper for a week. TYE ONE had it delivered by the time we had gotten to our site. The camper was very clean, up to date and we could not be more pleased. We had a slight problem with water leaking and they came out immediately and had it fixed with in minutes. I barely survived a phone call about tent lighting options with the owner. I'm pretty thick-skinned (former lawyer) but this man was so absolutely and incredibly rude that I will never, ever spend a penny of my money with him. Awful. Horrible.
