This is a pretty spectacular garden. You enter through the front museum. There's a place to buy tickets for the museum that has costumes from their rose parades and more information. To the back is the garden that has several sections that you can walk around in the largest being the roses to the left with a water fountain and water features. To the right is a home garden area and a meditation garden and they're all very pretty but I recommend the roses the most for pictures. Be careful to stay on the paths and not walk on the grass. Parking is out front. The garden is free but the museum is $3 and we even got a book of the roses..

Our first activity upon arriving in Tyler. Gorgeous gorgeous place. The flowers are all so pretty and we loved walking amongst them. We took so many selfies and photos here and really enjoyed ourselves. The town is lucky to have such a place , I wish we had one back home. Will visit again.

Tyler Rose Centre is a free garden to public. They are 35 minutes from Lake Palestine where most of the club vacation home located. The rose garden includes the Tyler sign that you should not miss. You can form the Y shaped from the missing letter to make up word Tyler. The roses are row by row especially during the April spring time. Perfect time to visit. The visit of the entire garden will require 1 to 2 hours. Depending you want to smell the roses. The pink color, yellow, purple, and mix color smell the best. The red color has the least smell. We did see the dark black purple rose. Which is rare. Overall the facility is good with parking, restrooms and museum.

    Beautiful roses!

They have beautiful dresses from each year's pageant! That had some cool football stories. The garden was amazing. Walking inside smelled so nice. Walking in the garden was heavenly as well. Peaceful. Beautiful!

Such a nice array of so many different types of roses. The walk in the garden is so relaxing as you go in and out of so many different colors. The architectural work is from the 50s and it's really beautiful. They have a nice gazebo and a pond with some Koi. I can't wait to go back to Tyler Texas so I can visit these guys again.

Welcome to rose capital! At the Tyler rose garden I immersed myself in a serene escape full of rose gardens , fountains , naturally maintained landscape , and beautiful pathways. This rose garden offered the perfect backdrop to capture those must have moments! So don't forget your camera and be ready to capture your loved ones among the blossoms! At the rose garden center you will find the Tyler rose museum which offers exhibits, workshops and many resources for enthusiasts! The entrance to the museum portion is open to the public as well, for a small fee of 3$. There hours differ from those of the garden so make sure to check before heading out there. During my visit, I stumbled across a frequent visitor that recommended checking out the annual events held at the museum too! During the week the garden is not so crowded therefore the perfect location for a picnic , walk and relaxing day with or without company ! Food is allowed in the garden so bring a snack. You will find Plenty of seating areas from the grass to benches to gazebos. Pet friendly location as long as you keep them leashed at all times. Overall , I loved this place! This is a must add experience to those in love with nature, tranquility and historic places. I really enjoyed the meditation garden found here, I left renewed! The koi fish pond was my favorite. As for the memorial gardens it offered a nice historical touch to all . I will definitely be back soon! Admission: The 14 acre garden is open to the public , FREE of charge. Parking: Parking is located both in front of the rose garden center building and the back, inside of the garden, FREE of charge Garden hours : The garden is open daily (Mon-Sun) sunrise to Sunset .

Did you know Tyler was the rose capital? I didn't either but I see why. It was also free to go. This place was so beautiful. There was rows and rows of roses with lots of different colors of roses. This place is good for date night, a wedding and even just to get some peace. It is a very relaxing and peaceful place. When we were there, someone had rented out space for it looked like a family gathering. They had tables set up with food and lots of places to sit. They looked like they were having a good time. Very beautiful place that is free. If you are in the area, this is a must see. There is limited parking but you should be able to find a spot even if you have to park on the street.

This center is perfect for mid-sized conferences. It is very well kept, and taking a break next door in the luscious, green Tyler Rose Garden was a treat.

Huge rose garden that is free to the public. The roses were not in full bloom during our early fall visit, but stunning nonetheless. Wonderful place to take pictures and enjoy the beautiful garden.

Even in hot August, this place is beautiful!

I was SO impressed. Probably the nicest city park I have ever seen. You can tell how much time, effort, manpower, and money has been thrown at this place. The rose garden's weren't blooming much, but what was were beautiful. Really nice walkways guiding you from section to section. The ponds were beautiful. The huge trees provided so much shade. The lawns were perfectly manicured. Lots of people were enjoying the park, some taking graduation or wedding pictures. This is definitely a place to put on your to do list. AND, while your in Tyler, head north to Big Sandy. Circle M Crawfish will hook you up with some really good seafood. Enjoy!

Tyler is the world capital city of the rose industry. Here is a must-visit park. The parking was free when I visited on June 12th, 2021 in the afternoon. The admission was also free! The park was very big. However, I visited there during the " worst month". It looked like most of the roses were dead due to the summer heat. I should have visited in either spring or fall. Actually, the annual rose festival has been held in October. Anyway, I still enjoyed the park. I still see a few beautiful roses. I found Tyler is a sister city of Yachiyo Japan. Actually, there is a rose garden in Yachiyo city. Hope the friendship is growing.

Gorgeous pathways leading to the Idea Garden ...

Always looking for little day trips from Dallas, I stumbled upon pics of the Tyler Rose Garden online and decided I must visit (a little less than 2 hours drive from Downtown Dallas). The garden is open all day and free to enter and roam around. Ample complimentary parking right at the entrance to the garden. Very peaceful even though there were several people around. Although this time of year was not full blooms for the roses (May), the grounds were kept up very well and I could only just imagine how glorious the gardens look when in full bloom! On that note, I am planning a return the third weekend of October, which, in addition to the roses being in full bloom, the city itself hosts the Texas Rose Festival. So, throughout the gardens, stone walkways lead you to benches, fountains, beautiful flowers. While a huge area is dedicated to roses, there are also various other plants. There are a few bridges throughout, leading to a Gazebo, a pond, the different gardens (Idea Garden, Camelia Garden, Meditation Garden etc.). Very picturesque and great for a romantic stroll! I can see it as a location people use for events or to get their photos taken. I did a mini self photo-shoot myself :) Will definitely be back to visit when the roses go into full bloom!

Beautiful rose park. Came while it was hot so didn't stay as long as we'd like. Hope to come back one day.

Ask the Community - Tyler Rose Garden Center

Are the rose bushes for sale if how much?

They are not, however they do host an annual plant sale in April where other vendors typically have some for sale. If you don't want to wait for the sale, Chamblee's Rose Nursery in Tyler is where I got mine.

Designed and built by local riders and businesses, the intent is to open up cycling to everyone. That's exactly what has been done. This trail system can be enjoyed by all skill levels. It is essentially split into three sections that can be entered or exited off of a granite loop that can also be iced for a warm up or down loop as well as for runners or walkers or those with children. The trail is constantly being maintained and improved. The one thing I'm not happy with are that some of the trail in the last section is not marked well and you can find yourself riding a few loops over again or even riding the wrong direction! So be careful of this. The system has At least 6 miles of trails, this number may not be accurate anymore with the additions and in fact, my ride today ended up being 7 miles and I know I coulda pulled more out of it. Attached to the park are tennis courts, a splash pad, playground equipment, baseball fields, a small pound that is stocked yearly, and miles of hiking, biking, and jogging trails. Also, you can access the South Tyler trail system from here which is an excellent trail system that will take you all over the southern part of the city. The trail system is growing every day. Also located here is Tyler's newest Police Station so there's no shortage of police presence. I always enjoy coming to this park to run, ride, practice yoga, or just relax.

We booked seats in the Presidential Car, "Miss Joyce," and the experience was outstanding from beginning to end. The car features a comfortable mix of couches and chairs, with seating selected when you book your tickets. It created a relaxed atmosphere that made the four-hour excursion feel special without being overly formal. Our train attendant, Miss Joyce, was absolutely wonderful. She was warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout the trip, and it's easy to see why the car proudly bears her name. When we arrived at our seats, each passenger had a complimentary bottle of water and a snack box filled with watermelon, grapes, pretzels, and cheese cubes. The trip began with a champagne toast for the adults and sparkling apple cider for those who preferred it, which was a fun touch that made the experience feel like an occasion. Additional drinks, candy, and popcorn were available for purchase throughout the ride, and the attendants happily took orders and kept a running tab, making everything very convenient. During the stop in Rusk, we had time to stretch our legs and enjoy lunch. A converted railcar serves as a concession stand, offering items like hot dogs, nachos, chicken salad sandwiches, hoagies, and pulled pork sandwiches, with the option to purchase meals that include chips and a drink. There are picnic tables available, or you can take your lunch back to the train while it's parked at the station. We later learned that meal pre-orders are available, although we didn't notice that information when booking our tickets. The return trip to Palestine was a little quicker but just as enjoyable. From departure at 11:00 a.m. until our return around 3:00 p.m., the entire excursion was relaxing, scenic, and very well organized. If you're looking for a unique family outing in East Texas, we highly recommend upgrading to the Presidential Car. Between the comfortable seating, thoughtful amenities, excellent service, and beautiful scenery, it was an experience we'll remember for a long time.

Our experience was okay, but just okay. The train car was comfortable, though noticeably dated and in need of some freshening up. The bathroom was unpleasant -- no soap, no paper towels -- and it felt like the cars hadn't received any real attention in years. The train ride itself was pleasant enough, but too long for what it offered. The scenery consists mostly of trees lining both sides of the track, with occasional glimpses of meadows. Nothing dramatic. The train crept along at a snail's pace -- more, I suspect, to fill time than for any safety reasons. The midpoint stop was the highlight of the trip. We had dinner with live music in a lovely setting near a small lake -- genuinely enjoyable. However, the scheduled 1¼-hour stop stretched to nearly 1¾ hours, as we sat on the train for almost 30 minutes without moving before heading back. We arrived over 15 minutes later than scheduled. A few other notes: the train has no Wi-Fi, and the entire three-hour ride is accompanied by piped-in 1940s big band music. The first 30 minutes were fine; after that, it became tedious. Overall, I'd give this experience a 3 out of 5 -- and that's being generous, given the price.
