But that's fine. I ordered a latte and ginger bread and was quite impressed. The size of my cake piece was very spendacious. I can imagine customers are coming back for second portions. Literally they did on the day when I was there. They also do lunches, besides all the homemade cakes and scones. Prices are very fair. I also browsed their gift shop. Lovely picturesque village. This is one of my Mum's favourite indulgement establishments! I love the Gift shop as it's chic and lots of things to pick and go ohhh! and AHHHH! at!! Cakes are all made by the owner and all fresh! Soups also are delightful on a cold winter's day. French presses come in mild, medium or strong and i always go for strong - keeps me buzzing until i get home! The cafe also do sandwiches and other edibles. It's small so it does get full rather quick. But have a browse in the gift shop and as soon as a table comes free the staff are please to come and fetch you. Nearby is ... DUNBAR (I've reviewed the Dunbar Community Bakery on the main st and it's a catch! It's also a mix of vintage, modern and new. By comparison to similar shops in Edinburgh it's quite cheap and they have a very good January sale. The store is really small and packed full of stock so if you want something from the back it may take a while to move everything so you can buy it. If you see something that you want then buy it as it might not be there when you come back the next day. The owner is super friendly and will recommend other things in stock if something isn't quite right (or too big for the space you need a table for). For small gift and pretty things for presents it's also ideal. Sigh, someone just buy me it all ok?

Even though it is touristy, it has an extensive selection of quality scarves and other wool/cashmere products. I purchased a scarf that cost something like £30 and i absolutely love it. The wool is great quality and warm but breathable and the perfect length. There is a wide range of tartan scarves at various price points. I contemplated visiting Johnstons of Elgin but their scarves are more than I'm willing to pay since I don't get to wear it more than a few times a year in Southern California. My little scarf has gone with me to the beautiful Highlands and goes with me on every trip to Scotland or colder climates now and I'm very happy with it. Service was efficient and polite as it tends to be there.
