We've always had really great experiences here, especially with the nurse Katie. My younger daughter is always catching something and they alway manage to see her same day. I recently called at 8 for my sick daughter and they got me in at 9:30. Katie is always very efficient and helpful-quick with the right diagnosis and treatment. She has also been helpful with different referrals and recommendations as my younger daughter has developmental delays. We continue to commute here even after moving to Stafford. read more

This practice has some key features we were looking for in a pediatrician practice for our newborn: - they vaccinate and are upfront about it, if you do not want your child vaccinated, don't bother coming here - newborns (and presumably any immunocompromised patients) are taken directly to an exam room upon check-in, instead of waiting in the waiting room with all the other kids that could potentially transmit disease - multiple practitioners with extended hours, same-day emergency appointments available After going to three visits so far, we have met two nurses and saw Dr. Paneer all three times. The staff have been very professional, I do not have any complaint. Dr. Paneer has been very pleasant and has answered all our questions. We never felt rushed or pressured to get in and out. Dr. Paneer and staff are knowledgeable and very competent. Will update if any of this review changes. read more

It's been a long time I came to the practice but the few times we saw doctors/nurses here have really stuck with me, and not in a good way. The expertise level and respect for science here seems lacking. Specifically, my son had some lesions on his face after a vacation and asked if it was an infection. They told me no, it's just molluscum and I should treat it with TEA TREE OIL. Yeah, and after that we'll pray over it, conduct a seance, and then do some acupuncture. I was not dumb enough to use tea tree oil but the lesions were getting slightly worse over a few months, so I went back and they recommended a corticosteroid. Fast forward another few months and it was even worse. I finally took him to my dermatologist and the nurse there immediately recognized the lesions as a bacterial infection and prescribed antibiotic ointment. It took months for his face to get better and several years later he still has some discoloration because Tysons Corner Pediatrics misdiagnosed it and let it go on for so long. The derm said he has some risk of permanent scarring because the infection was allowed to persist. Needless to say I switched pediatricians. read more

This place is hit or miss. When you call the receptionist will ask you a lot of questions just to say you have to talk to a nurse. Every time except once we got the same nurse and her answers were always scattered and wrong. The one time we got nurse Selena when calling in she was amazing! Request who you want your child to see. Some nurses make shots hurt, they pinch the skin and draw attention to the shot while others have an extremely gentle touch. Heather is WONDERFUL, but I stay away from Reggie- she has steered us very wrong in the past. You have to aggressively be your child's advocate. However I will say this- with rare exception when I have called for a last minute appointment they have made it work. For example- my child hit his head at daycare to the point that I was worried he might have a concussion and they didn't hesitate to get him seen. read more

We have only had great experiences with TCP. We've seen everyone in the practice, and they've all been extremely capable and kind. We particularly love "our" physician Dr. Yuth, who has such a great way with kids that our toddler literally asks about her during bedtime. We also have had great visits (you know, other than the fact that obviously someone was sick if we were there) with Dr. Paneer and NP Wingo, both of whom are very knowledgable and kind. So many times we've called at 8am when someone is sick, and they've managed to get us in there by 10. We are so grateful to be in this practice, and can't recommend them enough. I try not to post negative reviews unless the behavior of the business is egregious and if my concern(s) were not properly addressed. My son has been a patient at Tyson's Corner Pediatrics since birth. I initially met with Dr. Jander and after speaking with her and thinking she would be the PCP I enrolled him. However, my son did not see her and was seen by NP, Kathy Wingo mostly and Dr. Panneer rarely. This should have been a red flag but I decided to continue and not make a fuss. Recently, during my son's annual checkup I discussed all my son's milestones and some observations to NP, Kathy Wingo. It was apparent that she was not truly listening because when I explained my observations her response did not accurately reflect what I told her. I explained to her that she was not understanding and tried to help her understand. At some point during the conversation, she stared at her watch. The visit was a total of 15 minutes with NP, Wingo. When I received the summary of our visit it was wildly inaccurate and the language she used was inappropriate. I addressed this with the office manager as this is a child's record and as a medical professional you should be more mindful of your language, especially if the parent is explaining to you during the visit that you are not comprehending what I am conveying to. NP, Wingo updated her notes only to reflect that I had no concerns with my observations but did not update her notes to reflect that I did not agree with her summary of my observations, which was the reason for my complaint. As a medical provider, you must establish trust with your patients and I no longer feel like I can trust Tyson's Corner Pediatrics to truly assess the overall well-being of my child and listen to me. As a result, I removed my child from this practice. read more

We have been coming here since our daughter was born (now 4) and we used to have Dr. Kappa who we liked a lot. When she left the practice we were worried but got Dr. Jander, who is pretty grounded and has a good bedside manner. The location is very convenient for us, and the building is older, but the facilities overall seem fine to me (and more importantly, clean and taken care of). Sounds like there were some negative experiences based on scheduling etc. We've been pretty lucky so far, the few times we've had to get our daughter in due to something we perceived to be an emergency, they were able to squeeze us in, for which we are thankful for. We (my wife and I) would recommend Tyson's Corner Pediatrics. read more

We changed to Tyson's Corner Pediatrics a year and a half ago and we love it. We have never waited more than 5 minutes. The front desk and nurses are friendly and helpful every time. They can get us in for "sick" visits very quickly and always answer the phone. I cannot say enough good things. read more

I wish I could give them zero stars! Dr Jander is the worst dr ever I've seen! She treated me like an ATM. And when I called them to ask why they sent me for annual check up they said she spent more time than normal with your kid? and I tried to explain that Dr asked over and over don't you have any problems? We didn't keep her! She was the person who asked 2-3 times and it doesn't take longer than usual! I never go back to this office! read more

This is the worst pediatrics since my first child doctor heather for the second time diagnostic my child wrong and gave antibiotics and fever kept going up till we went emergency even I called at mid night spoke with sleepy head nurse or doctor who knows she like reading a paper so she won't intrepid her and ask question . Doctor Yasmeen is alright but never there , I could of done better job better than these stupid doctor make all the money of us and children's - 0 star if I could . read more

We have been seeing the doctors and nurses here since our son's birth in April 2016. Our first visit was rocky - to the point I considered finding another pediatrician. We waited over an hour to be seen - he had come home from the NICU the day prior to that visit, so thankfully, they had us wait in an exam room and not the reception area. But that's an absurd wait time! I wasn't willing to continually do that. Despite that initial visit and our long wait, we were pleased with Dr. Jenko that day. She was kind and thorough, but a bit quick for a first visit with a newborn. The next visit we saw Dr. Anez (fun fact - she was my husband's pediatrician many years ago!) She, too, was thorough and answered our questions but I didn't feel any particular draw to her. I wasn't sure I would feel comfy asking her all of the questions I had about our son. However, who we really have clicked with and feel confident with is Heather Fedak, CPNP. She is the absolute best with our baby! He loves being held by her and she is so sweet to him during the exam and otherwise. She is knowledgeable and answers my questions thoroughly and simply, without opinion or judgment. Once I asked her a half an hour worth of questions, unrelated to that particular visit but things I wanted to ask, and she took the time to answer every last one, since she didn't have a patient behind us. I feel totally comfortable with her! We always request to see her now for any office visit. And happy to report, the most we have had to wait since that first visit has been about 10 minutes. Also, we have been able to get an office visit the very same day I called with a concern. Also, the techs here are so sweet and also are great with our babe! They always make a fuss over him when he's in - and as a first time mom, it's great to see! :) UPDATE - We have been patients for a year. We LOVE Dr. Jander! My son is comfortable with her, she takes the time to answer ALL of my questions (more than a page's worth at his one year appt,) she is kind, warm, and reassuring. The more times we've had to call - for a question ranging from fever, bumps on the head in his crib, to symptoms of severe pain - we have had an answer within minutes. Either I've been able to speak with a nurse right away during business hours, or a nurse has called back within 3 minutes (literally) of me calling after hours. I could not be more pleased with our decision to take our son here. read more

I won't give it even one star if I can. worst experience ever so far. I once called in and wanted to make an appointment at Friday because my daughter had no school that day, I was told 11:30 is OK and I was all set. Then 2 days later I called in to confirm, I was told my appointment was not scheduled since I didn't register my daughter online in time. OK...I went ahead to have her registered and made another appointment at Tuesday, I was told I am all set this time and I only need to arrive 15 minutes ahead because this will be our first visit. Tuesday I pulled my daughter out of her class and applied half day time off from my work, but when we arrived we were told there is no appointment for us, AGAIN! I tried to argue but no use, I feel like really no one cares about you here. "the only thing that I can do is I can make another appointment for you ..." ??? I wasted half of my work day and let my daughter to quit her class just to make an appointment in person here! I heard many negative feedback from my friends who is working near tysons about this pediatrics, but I thought that won't happen to me, and it looks I am wrong. the only thing that looks good is this pediatrics seem to be near to my son's school. anyway...I made the 3rd appointment and I was told this will be it. I'm not sure what will happen to our next appointment. too much surprises! I feel like being played with and not respected. I won't hesitate to turn to other pediatrics once I find another one around us. I won't recommend this pediatrics to anyone. read more

Not very good. My kid is in a fever 104 degree. The nurse come and tell us to take off her cloth so she can weight her. After she weight her she tell us don't put cloth on her cause the doctors will come see her in a minute. Then no one is come. No nurse. No doctor. I ask the nurse could I put her cloth on. But the nurse said No. My kid was naked for 45 minutes except doper on her. She is not even a year and half old. How come they ignore a patient like this. Finally the doctor come. She tried to tell us she's been busy since morning. And she woke up at 6:30 she haven't go her appointment because she is busy. We're so mad but what can we do. We need her to check on my baby. The doctor told us we weren't on the schedule and we got so surprised. Cause we just made appoint two days ago in front of that front desk lady. The fact is. That front desk lady forgot to put us on the appointment book but she knows and acknowledged us. It's really a "wonderful" experience isn't it? read more

This practice is fine. I've thought many times about switching, but they don't annoy me enough to go through the hassle of finding someone new. The wait times to be seen upon arrival are consistently long - at least an hour almost every time, even when I schedule one of the first appointments in the morning. (And I do appreciate that they take kids on an emergency basis and that may bump me back). The secretarial staff seems to be at least somewhat unable to remember their policies and will give varying information at varying times. Additionally, I am slightly offput by nurse Reggie's "Breast is Best" button that she always wears. Everybody knows it is true, and the button only serves to make women who can't make breastfeeding work feel bad. However, the physicians themselves seem nice and responsive to questions and comments. They do call back and remember what is going on with my children from visit to visit. Fortunately, I feel as though my children have had pretty straight forward medical issues thus far. read more

I scheduled an appointment for my daughter for a second shot she needed to get. I arrived and they just told me that they did not have the vaccine. They could have called me before hand and told me not to come. Poor management. read more

We have had pretty good visits with this practice. We liked Dr. Kapa and Dr. Jander along with Nurse Fedak and Nurse Selene. We had an appointment with Dr. Carr for an unexpected illness and were hugely disappointed by his demeanor and his patience. I realize that working with young crying children is hard, but he was especially gruff and unkind. It made a doctor's appointment more unpleasant for our child and left us feeling just uneasy. We are rethinking our choice for an office, sadly. read more

We had just changed insurance and had yet to find a new practice when my infant got sick. In an all too common insurance hassle, I had to make several calls to other practices before I found Tysons corner pediatrics. They kindly took down my information and instead of making me wait or turn me away for inconsistencies in checking coverage, they told me to come in and it would be sorted out. They had an appointment the same day (star!) They were kind and patient despite my arriving without my wallet and insurance card - we've all been there, as a sleep deprived and frazzled parent, but they made me feel welcome (star!) we were called back within minutes (star!) the MA who took my baby's vitals was exceptionally kind (star!) the room had an adorable mural and toys/books for the kids (star!) Reggie the NP was kind, knowledgeable, and gentle with my baby (star!) finally they electronically ordered my prescription and sent an email visit summary (star!) If I could give this practice 7 stars I would. I stumbled upon this wonderful group out of necessity for a sick appointment and for that I am grateful! read more
