My daughter has been there one year and has recently resigned her lease for her junior year at UNT! As a parent I like this complex because it's in such close proximity to UNT! There are a ton of restaurants and stores (UNT store and CVS) in walking distance which is nice because my kiddo didn't take her car up there! The complex sends out messages and reminders about rent and utilities being due which is nice! At first we thought the students working in the leasing office would be an issue if something actually happened but in fact whenever my daughter has has an issue they have been super nice and able to steer her in the right direction to get it resolved quickly! When resigning the lease her rent actually went down not up which was a very nice surprise! They also made transitioning her roommates so they could all be together super easy too! No place is perfect but for our student and family it has been great! read more

DO NOT LIVE AT THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX. I have lived here for three years, and the issues have been constant. The biggest concern has been mold. I had mold in both my first and second units, and it made me very sick. Management repeatedly dismissed it as "dirt" or "dust" instead of properly addressing the problem. I've also had my AC break multiple times, leaving me without air conditioning for days during the Texas heat. There is also a persistent roach problem they come out of the drains in the bathtub and sinks no matter how clean you keep your apartment. The hallways constantly smell, residents let their dogs pee in the hallways and elevators, and the trash chute rooms are filthy and rarely seem to be cleaned. On top of that, the gates are constantly broken, making it easy for anyone to enter the property. After three years, I can confidently say these are not one time issues they are ongoing problems that management has failed to properly address. I would caution a parent or student about renting an apartment here. The apartment itself was fine, but the management proved to be less than ethical in their business practice. While we were still under contract with them, the manager gave our unit to someone else. When we arrived to renew our lease we were told we couldn't because it had been promised to someone else who wanted that particular unit. We always paid our rent on time and owed them no money. We received zero notification from the manager that we would be unable to renew the lease "because it had been given to another student." Very disappointing experience. They lost a good paying customer. read more

So far it's been WONDERFUL! They have a very nice roommate matching app where you actually get to look through peoples profiles, which was one of the main reasons I came here as I had a nightmare experience at an apartment that didn't have that. That being said, my roomies are great and for the most part there's no trouble! Have yet to call maintenance, nothing has gone wrong with my apartment. When I moved in it was really clean, and now that I've gotten settled in it's really cozy! Amazing location too. Only downside is the price, really, but I'm willing to pay if I don't get fucked over with awful roomies that make my life hell. read more

It look nice from the outside...but it isn't! It's old and run down on the inside. Don't fall for the model they show you. The actual apartment you get is way more worn and dirty and has bugs. The elevators don't work and the garage gate is always breaking. So peoples cars get broken into or stolen. And you won't get any help finding out who did it. I would not recommend living in this apartment complex to my worst enemy. -They put up students as front people working the front desk and they don't know anything so it's impossible to get information and answers. The staff that I have met have all been extremely rude except for the maintenance men. It takes days and sometimes even weeks to get a response back. They really jack you around. -The fees are outrageous and they're always looking to "get you" and slap you with extra fines. -There is no kind of "roommate matching". A girl was allowed to move in who was convicted of theft in 2018 and she stole/ broke/ wrote on items of mine and my other roommates while we were away for the summer. Despite repeated attempts to contact management, nothing was ever done to remedy this situation. And then they slapped me with another move out fine. Don't do it. The closeness to campus doesn't make it worth it, all it means is you'll get all the noise from fry street. There are several other problems that others have mentioned on here and after living there for 3 years I can confirm they're all true. Save yourselves read more

So, this apartment complex couldn't get worse. Not only is it overpriced BUT i also receive threatening phone calls from a guy named Andres. He is such a jerk and does not care about anything, but your money. He claims he's doing his job, but that's just an excuse for him to be a jerk and rude about everything. He said "i'm not threatening you" as he threatens me with filing my papers to get me evicted ASAP unaware of my situation. It's almost as if he was excited to do this because I explained my situation and he really had the audacity to tell me that's not his problem!!!! Such a horrible complex. Ucentre has the absolute worse management and security staff. my roommates and I were threatened repeatedly but a girl we were living with who was also a prostitute and it took Ucentre 2.5 months to move us out of the situation. the doors, elevators, and gates are always broken & the second building ALWAYS smells like weed. staying there just to be close to campus is 100% not worth it. the washers and dryers also break easily & most doors in the apartment don't actually close all the way and will open slightly if the air is on or if the front door is open. the keys to your bedroom door could also stop working out of no where. also when maintenance or management stops by, they'll knock once and then enter your apartment without your consent regardless if you're naked or doing something personal. i encourage everyone reading this to live in a different student apartment or a regular apartment ( which is cheaper ) to avoid these problems. read more

This place is terrible. Wish I could give them a negative review. Management is horrible. Roommates are horrible. You get an app before moving in to choose roommates and then they put you with random people. So what's the point of the app? When I moved in, the apartment was a mess. Dishes piled up, trash everywhere, crap everywhere, roaches / bugs everywhere. Talked to them multiple times about switching but unfortunately, they can't switch me. By far the worst apartment complex in Denton I'd rather live under a rock, they don't really clean before you move in, they just dust burley even that, they have the water bugs, maintenance can't do their jobs for some weird reason, Tv they supplied me almost caught fire. They're pretty mask off about how greedy they are. They might as well charge you a fee to breathe while they're at it. There is an electricity cap that I didn't even know about until I started living there, and you wind up having to pay this fee whether it was you who used up "too much" electricity or your roommate. If you want to pay your rent online, you're stuck with a $20 fee. It's also very difficult to get out of the lease. You have to pay about $200 just for the paper to find a new person to stay in your place, and you have to find someone to move in to replace you if you want to get out of there, lest you spend even more money. Your lease is a year long contract, so you're pretty much stuck there once you commit. Maintenance can be pretty slow. It's difficult to get in touch with a manager in the office. It's pretty much just young kids down there who really don't know what they're doing. Over all, this is a pretty horrible place for anyone to stay at, and I wouldn't recommend it to my worse enemy. My advice, if you can, stay at home. You'll probably spend less money. Or stay at an apartment that doesn't charge so much. The utilities aren't worth it! read more

They say utilities are included but we were billed over $80 each month even though both my roommate and I were barely home. When we moved in, carpet was torn up and stained, broken couch, TONS of small holes in the wall, and was just generally not clean when we got there. Also the parking situation is so inconvenient. When I moved out, I had three friends help me deep clean the place even though the apt was never dirty to begin with, and u Centre had the nerve to charge me over $200. They billed me $90 to repaint the walls that were already damaged to begin with?? I barely had anything hung up?? And then they charged a cleaning fee?? Screw these people for taking advantage of young college students. I want my money back read more

I rated this company one star, but in actuality it should be a -3 stars. I don't live on premises, but am a guarantor on an apartment. I'm beyond frustrated because my daughter was allowed to sign a new lease without getting additional approval or signature from me. They sent her notification in January for a lease that didn't expire until August, but I never received anything. Individuals in the office advised my daughter that she needed to sign in order to keep her space and that I could sign at a later date. NOT TRUE! First of all, I didn't find out about the lease extension until late July when I phoned the office to discuss prorated lease amounts for her final month. If you didn't do the math that's a full 6 months after they accepted her sole signature. Being the person financially responsible for the apartment, there is no way management should have been able to renew the lease without authorization and signature from me, the guarantor. I've contacted the office several times and was told there is nothing they could do but put her on a re-let list to get her apartment re-rented. Of course this is once all vacant apartments have been leased and where she falls on the re-let list. Here we are further into the lease that should have never been and nothing. When I contacted the leasing office again to find out where we stood, I was told my best bet is to find someone else who wants to lease the apartment myself and bring them to the office to fill out lease info. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. I'm overly frustrated and am looking at what legal options I have to get her out of this lease. Also, I agree with Hanna M. regarding the online direct payments. System is totally screwed up. Now, I make the 1hr+ drive to hand deliver my payment and receive a receipt. read more

U Centre is a middle tier apartment complex. There are several pros & cons. First I want to begin by saying Emily & Kasey are the best office staff. Nick has been helpful before, but my conversations with him have been brief. Sarah doesn't seem to ever truly be managing, Madison & Tanner are still new and learning the place, and Parish is very monotonous. When the office is overrun with residents, I oftentimes see Sarah, Tanner, and Madison in one of their offices sitting on desks and chit chatting and the poor community assistants are running around like dogs trying to satisfy everyone. Sometimes it feels like Parish says he can't do certain requests only because he is too lazy to. One time I needed paperwork sent to my email and Parish claimed he couldn't do it. I found that very interesting since it was simple paperwork. At the beginning of move in, the process was easy and efficient. My unit was clean and my room had been sealed and sanitized. I appreciated that. My room was however way smaller than I expected. I hate the way the room is laid out and the walls bend in awkward ways I can't even rearrange my furniture. The furniture and appliances are outdated and OLD. The fridge in my unit is SO small, I wonder how four bedrooms make their fridge work. The entire time I have lived here, I have put in several maintenance requests because my shower doesn't stay hot, but they never seem to be able to fix it. It's to the point that I go to an entirely different unit to take SHOWERS. Maintenance is usually very fast and on top of things though. They just can't seem to fix my shower water. The gym and study rooms are great, I've never been to the pool. The hallways of the place look like hallways of hell. So dingy and dark and filthy. The location of the complex is awesome and so is the parking garage, although my friend's car was hit in there and the office was extremely unhelpful in the situation. They wouldn't even check the security footage for him. Again, just Sarah refusing to be a functional manager. I feel so bad for the CA's Emily & Kasey. They literally look so depressed in the office and Sarah and Madison don't care! At all! Emily and Kasey are so sweet I feel so bad that they are always overwhelmed at the desk. Sometimes I just wanna go behind the desk and help them myself since Sarah and Madison won't! Nick the book keeper has even had to step in sometimes and Sarah and Madison do nothing. One time I was at the office and three other residents were in line, and the phone rang. Kasey couldn't answer since she was clearly assisting residents, and Madison and Sarah looked around the corner condescendingly still expecting her to answer! read more

Sub par unit doesn't even include a microwave. The inside of the building is an absolute dump. Awful roommate matching. Asked for non smoking. Got someone who smokes inside. Checked that I was fine with pets. Don't do that if you don't want a roommate who doesn't clean up after their pet. Many other problems with roommates that the office refused to do anything about. Prone to bugs if your roommates don't do their dishes or take out their trash. And if you end up with truly terrible roommates, it's $250 to switch and there's no guarantee your new roommates won't be terrible too. Walls are paper thin. Anything your roommates are doing in their rooms or common areas, you can hear as clearly as you can in the room. Outside walls aren't very thick either, so if there's a party going on outside, have fun trying to get to sleep. Elevator in the garage is broken. There is no parking to be had on the bike racks because they refuse to cut down and haul off abandoned bikes that have obviously been left there for years. Vents directly over the door allows everything in the kitchen to waft into the bedrooms. So if your roommates decide to stink it up, you get to enjoy the smell. Tiny balcony was not even big enough to park a bike on. And since there was no bike parking in the garage, I had to park mine on the street. All student apartments seem to want only your money, but this one is one of the worst offenders. The only redeeming quality about this place is that it is close to campus. Otherwise, a worthless dump of a place to live. read more

I give them one star only because there isn't a lower rating. The management are no better than common thieves and will extort you to pay for damages and repairs after moving out even though they say nothing to you while moving out. They call and harass you and threaten to ruin your credit rating until you pay them. As you can read from the vast majority of others they don't fix anything so what is the extortion money used for? If i could give a 0 star review I would. These apartments are acting crazy like they have no idea what they are doing. I have called for the past 2 1/2 months to talk about moving in early because if I didn't get to move in early, I would have to commute 4 hours away with my cat and come right back. With that, since i have called multiple time this summer, basically everyone who works there knows my situation and has tried to work with me but it had unfortunately backfired on them because all the stuff they have told me were basically lies and it seems like they didn't get trained in what to say at all. This was a big problem because i was promised a lot of things and those weren't fulfilled in any way. I am already a depressed resident of the complex and I haven't even moved in yet. Sara, the manager, was very hard to get stuff out of. It was either she was in a meeting or wasn't there and whenever I would get a hold of her, she would tell me to email her. I did that... multiple times... no response. How unprofessional. With that being said, i will be calling American Campus next with explaining what really happened. read more

The distance to the UNT campus is one of the only good things about living here, that and the large balcony. Upon moving in, our apartment and my bedroom was covered in cat piss and they refused to remove my carpet for two weeks. They insisted on cleaning that carpet making the smell worse and acting like "replacing the carpet after a pet lived there" wasn't apart of the lease. The elevators are always broken, and so are majority of the kitchen appliances. The second building smells like weed a good percentage of the time, the maintenance staff always shows up unannounced and will walk in regardless of what may occur. They "claim" to have cameras In the garage, but can't tell me who has hit and ran my car numerous times now or keyed my car. My apartment was actually even broken into and they didn't do a single thing. They just brushed it off because my money is not important than my safety. The management is a literal joke, no sense of urgency not even if it includes my safety. Lastly, the apartment doesn't communicate on any level so the information passed down is always different. They tell us one thing email something totally different. If I were you, I would seriously consider if it's worth it. You pay a chunk of money to a complex that couldn't care less about your well Here we are folks, a couple months later. We used to live on the first floor and had very creepy vibes from the apartment and also a break in which didn't help us feel safe in any way. So we move to the fourth floor and at first it was all fine and dandy... but when I say roach you say infestation .. yeah huge bug problem. When I say huge I mean you get the all nine yards of roaches, roach eggs, roach feces!!!! I only gave one star to the maintanance people because they are actually nice. The office sucks and no employee is on the same page. I tried doing direct payments online from my account and they kept taking the wrong amount out and charging me late fees. Then they added up (while im trying to reach someone and they didnt respond to me) and now they want me to pay a good $600 when THEIR WEBSITE WASNT WORKING. One of the girls in the front literally said it may be their website so i'm not sure how its my fault. Then the first building is nice because thats the one they show, then the second building is complete crap. Cameras don't work, its never clean, the gates are always broken. They literally dont care about residents one bit. They tow your guests ten minutes after they get there while theyre parking app is slow. It's nice to be by campus and Fry st but its not worth it at all. They are terrible. They also threatened to evict me for not paying the late fees (that arent my fault) then said "Well if you've been in touch with a manager just disregard that." So after they threaten you and bitch them out then all of a sudden its okay. This place is seriously the worst. I thought about hanging signs around this place warning people not come close to signing a lease. 8/26- Frustrated that I'm already having to write a review, but hoping that maybe THIS will finally warrant some positive result. Moved in a little over a week ago, and I'm pleased with my apartment and the amenities, everything is what it seemed it would be. What I'm already incredibly displeased with is the management and how they're choosing to resolve resident issues. I was assigned my parking place the weekend I moved in, and I've spent maybe a total of one day parked in my spot. After many (many) calls to management, different cars being parked in my spot, and a growing frustration, an email was finally sent out to residents regarding towing in reserved spots. That was five days ago. The same truck (that both my guarantor and I have complained about every single day it's been parked there) has been parked in my spot since before that email was sent out. Coming home tonight and realizing the SAME truck is in my spot has left me absolutely speechless. Out of all of my calls and emails, I've gotten one response and it was the first time I had to call. Don't know how much longer I have to ask for something to be done, considering the email they sent out said that violators would be towed (obviously this isn't true). This isn't a cheap place to live, and it's absolutely not my job to enforce the rules that management has put in place. I cannot believe I'm having to write this review less than two weeks into living here, but it feels as if no one in that leasing office cares. Hoping this issue gets resolved somewhat soon, because I had high hopes for this place. *UPDATE* 9/3 I thought this issue had finally been resolved when I placed yet another call and complained about the same truck. What I (finally) found was that the person parking in my spot was under the impression that it was their spot. While I'm still completely confused as to how that could have occurred (other than the fact that management has been anything but clear when it comes to parking), I was just relieved to know that the person was moving their vehicle and hopefully this parking issue would come to an end. I received another call from Shelby in the office later that day, explaining the situation again and reminding me that if someone is ever parked in my spot again, I had the power to tow them through Texas Impound. I'd already been given their contact information by the first woman who assisted me earlier in the day, but it was nice to be reminded of this service. Flash forward to tonight when I got home. To my surprise, there is now a different car parked in my spot. As you can imagine, I'm extremely frustrated and less than patient with this situation at this point. I call Texas Impound to tow the car, because as much as I'd like to be nice and just ask management to ask them to move, that route hasn't exactly worked out in my favor. On the phone with Texas Impound, I was informed that they aren't yet towing at U Centre. What I find completely incredible is how there was an email sent out by management informing residents that towing was being enforced in reserved spots and TWO different staff members both told me I had the power to tow and provided me towing information, yet when I am stuck in the very situation I keep finding myself in, apparently towing isn't being enforced here yet? Words cannot describe how infuriating this is every time I come home to find someone in my spot and to be able to do absolutely nothing about it until the office opens at 10am. I don't have the time or energy to continuously have to call or go up to the office to be able to park in the spot I'm paying for. Getting so so so tired of this. Can't wait to deal with this again in the morning!! read more

Greedy. I pay so much in rent for this place. U Centre looks so nice from the outside and the tour but inside it is trash. The elevators are broken left and right, both the elevator in building one and the elevator in the parking garage are broken right now. Its not secure, anyone can sneak in. Building two is always a mess. You can hear EVERYTHING your roommates do so if they bring over a 'guest' you better have headphones. Wifi is down far too often. I'm only giving it one star just because of how secure the apartment is. do not live at any of the American campus apartments. they find any way to raise the rent and if you have a problem they make you figure it out. you are not taken seriously and they do not care about you except for your money. yeah you can walk to class but there nothing worse than living somewhere you have problem at and no one cares to fix it. management is terrible, when you sign your contract they lie to you and then once its signed you find out all the horrible things they hide. be aware that the pictures they show you are model units, you unit looks like a dumpster compared to the model. I was promised clean roommates and a clean apartment but when I got to my unit, there was molded food in a pot, crumbs everywhere on the counter and floor. the trash was piled up and dishes were full in both sinks. I lived there for two months until someone finally decided to clean the sink out. when I signed the lease I didn't want reserved parking one of the employees pushed it on me and told me I could cancel it at anytime, well that was a lie and so was my unit. do not fall in love with the apartment just because it looks nice and has all these great things I promise you wont use them and that aren't that nice when you use it. they recently installed wifi (even though everyone has their own) to raise the rent however while installing the wifi there has been no internet. its three weeks before finals and they decide to throw this on us! believe me they may act like they care but that all a joke, they want your money, and when you want to cancel your contract you can forget that. you might as well throw thousands of dollars down the toilet.
