When I first hired Renesha I was quite satisfied. The price was very reasonable and she has many years of experience. She never worked at my venue and took time to do a tour there. As I hired her for day of coordination, I had little need to communicate with her until a few months before the wedding. About 3 months before the wedding I sent her a website I created which contained important information for vendors. I never received a response which was okay as it was a work in progress and I would follow up again closer to the wedding. About 2 months before the wedding, I reached out to Renesha to schedule the final walkthrough. In her response to me, she tells me she double booked for my wedding day and her assistant would be my DOC. I expressed that I was upset about the way it was communicated to me as a "by the way" comment vs informing me when she knew that she wasn't going to be my actual day of coordinator. Her response to this was that she agreed to this other wedding before I hired her. This only further upset me as I felt completely led on from the beginning. She introduced herself to all my vendors as my DOC and told me during our initial consult that she doesn't book too many weddings so she can concentrate on each wedding. Plus, DOC isn't her full time job. Renesha tried to reassure me her assistant, also her cousin, was "already up to speed." I tell her that I hope she provided the website I gave her for my wedding details and she responded with "I always communicate everything to her (cousin)." Ten minutes later, she emails me stating, in reference to the website, "This link doesn't work anymore." I go to check the website only to find I forgot to publish it for public viewing this entire time. This tells me she never clicked on the link in the first place because she would have been able to tell me sooner. So there was no "it doesn't work anymore," it never worked and I didn't appreciate her trying to make it sound like she looked at the website before. This also tells me she didn't actually communicate this to my actual DOC. She further confirms this later by sending me a screenshot in an attempt to be defensive about forwarding the website. Her screenshot shows the day and time she forwarded the email which was the same day I questioned her about it and when she claimed she "always" communicated everything to her cousin. She also never thought to give me the name and contact information for my actual DOC. I had to ask her twice. And, she didn't even give me a phone number. With all of this, my biggest complaint is that Renesha was a poor communicator. She couldn't understand that if she couldn't communicate effectively with me, I couldn't trust she could communicate with her cousin. Her cousin's competence is reliant on the information Renesha relays since I didn't have the opportunity to directly communicate with her. Renesha kept thinking I had an issue with her cousin when I never spoke to her cousin or knew anything about her. Moreover, Renesha was dishonest which she exposed on her own, twice. When I interviewed other DOCs to consider my options, they all could not believe the stress Renesha put me through so close to my wedding. When I asked to terminate the contract and receive a refund, Renesha only agreed to 50% deposit refund and required me to follow up with her before I could get half my deposit back. On top of all this, I saw that she advertised herself in a wedding Facebook group. I wanted to warn other brides and wrote that I couldn't recommend her. She responded with "only because you thought so and you where compensated. Don't try to badger my company, that was your choice" which honestly pushed me to write a review. I wasn't going to bother wasting anymore of my time but this only demonstrated that she saw herself as not having done anything wrong. To say she compensated me is ridiculous. Renesha was great! We had constant communication with her over the entire planning period that was concise and very helpful. Renesha and her cousin were our day of coordinators for our event at the Line Hotel in DC. They showed up early and helped us through the entire day and event. They were professional, courteous to all of our guests, and had great attention to detail. And when we had any small things come up they were right on top of it and did all of the coordinating with the other vendors and hotel staff. read more

Hiring Renesha was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding day. Since the first day of contact, she was very prompt with responding to emails and very flexible. I hired Renesha towards the middle of my planning stages and my only regret is that I didn't hire her sooner. After our initial consultation meeting I didn't meet with any other wedding planners and booked her on the spot, because her energy was so welcoming and warming that I knew I didn't need to look further. She became more like family than a wedding planner and was able to help me with the biggest to the smallest details...i.e. bringing in extra help to assist the children in the wedding party, arranging wedding transportation,coordinating with all of the vendors and making sure they are all on the same page, and recommending awesome vendors for all my other needs. Renesha has a very calm, confident, and reassuring demeanor and on the actual day of the wedding, she did not disappoint. I personally had so many little decorations and decor for my wedding day and was so worried something would be forgotten, but she executed the layout of everything, flawlessly. She also executed the process of our rehearsal to perfection, making sure every attendant knew exactly what to do for the wedding day. I hired U Deserve An Awesome Day, Renesha Gooding to be my Wedding Coordinator for the "Day Of" & I hate to say I made the biggest mistake by hiring her! She was referred to me, Everything was good until the day I hired her for...she is discounted, yea but you get what you pay for #trust. I expressed to her on numerous of occasions of what I expected my day to be. As every other Bride, I wanted my day to be nonstressful, peaceful, an abundance of joy and creating happy memories instead I got the opposite. When my awesome decorator showed up at 8am she notice a problem and Renesha was nowhere to be found. So guess who had to deal with that issue "ME", the bride. I arrived to my venue at 10:30am and my day off coordinator was not there, when calling Renesha she stated she wouldn't be at the venue until 2pm and I expressed that was unacceptable, she came to drop off the bag I gave her at my rehearsal the night before then left. Vendors weren't there on time, why my "Day of coordinator" had not call them to give them their schedule or time of arrival and when I call to inform her she then calls my other vendors I hired for my production and spoke to them unprofessional & with attitude (which is again unacceptable). My wedding was schedule to start at 7pm on Sat. Aug. 12, 2017, the ceremony and cocktail hour was suppose to be outside however Mother Nature had different plans and it thunder stormed so you can imagined all the unexpected issues "I" had to deal with because my "Day of Coordinator" wasn't there, Renesha didn't show up until 5pm (2hrs before my wedding was suppose to start). Being a Bride and putting on one of the biggest events/productions in my life for my closest family & friends was the most stressful, disappointing days of my life. By the time Renesha showed (after promising she'll be there a lot earlier to my Matron of honor) I had stressed out so much trying to put out countless fires (i.e. Finding a new DJ, meeting with venue coordinator & decorator to see if we could move the decorations and the entire event inside, was there enough time to set up everything, could we convert one room into a room for the Ceremony, what do I do with my guest to keep them happy and satisfied, where will the cocktail hour be held & so much more) I dismissed her. I hired her for the Day of and she shows up 2 hrs before the start time was hardening, displeasing, unprofessional & unacceptable! I had already started having my Bridal party and family members doing her job that I paid a deposit (in advance) for and after the wedding, I waited 3weeks and still didn't hear from her I emailed her to express my disappointment and for a refund and she feels as if I don't deserve a refund. Hmmmm, it sounds like she's ok with taking advantage of those in a vulnerable state during their Wedding day. I highly suggest you find a coordinator that truly cares about your special day, your needs, your wants, and will be a servant to you, your groom and the Bridal party and dedicate themselves to your special day and last but not least make all your dreams a reality not a nightmare.
