The woman you deal with whom I assume is an owner is not friendly, helpful, or anything but surly. We reserved 24 furniture pads with the truck we were renting, and she proceeded to tell us there were no pads available when we went to pick up the truck. Then she admitted that she didn't even call the Uhaul dealer who was 5 minutes away to ask them if they had pads - told us to find another Uhaul place to check! I am an Active-Duty Service Member utilizing this location for my PCS move and I would never recommend ANY MILITARY MEMBER or person utilizing this location for a U-Haul vehicle or services by any means. I am not sure if there was a prejudice issue against me with the owner Mary, but it was pretty apparent from the start something was off, and I just wanted to get the truck and leave. Mary was extremely rude, unprofessional and had poor customer service etiquette. It started with me asking clarifying questions to Mary about the equipment that I preordered, and it appeared that my questions seemed to bother her. I left that alone and figured "it's early in the morning". Because I was doing a one-way U-Haul move Mary asked me EACH location I was driving to for the milage, which quite frankly is none of her business. Mary states she just wanted to make sure I am not going over the milage and that I will pay in the back end if I do, okay got it. Without asking me was the card on file the one I would use, she ran the card then had to reverse it since I wanted to use another card. All she had to do was to have the courtesy to ask. Mary appears to be irritated at this point, and the time came to sign the paperwork I asked, "can I see the gas gauge prior to me signing the agreement?". Mary in an unprofessional tone said, "I CAN NOT GIVE YOU THE KEYS UNLESS YOU SIGN". I am not going to drive off, you have my license and information, why would I, but at this point I just wanted to leave but I refused to sign until I saw the gauge. Then Mary demandingly keeps repeating "Let's go, Let's go to the truck" and stormed off. I am not a dog, and I won't just hope to, on your command. I was appalled by the services and unprofessional mannerism I was receiving. Thankfully I was able to see the gas gauge since Mary opened the truck. I even asked her "are you okay"? Mary stated I'm fine, but I have customers waiting. Mary must have forgotten that I am a customer as well and I then asked, "are you the manager? Mary stated proudly yes, I am the owner. I then said I shouldn't be spoken to like this, and this is unprofessional. Then Mary threatened not to give me the truck, are you kidding me! So sad I was shocked by this threat but as some of you know with a PCS there is a time crunch, and I had to leave. Mary walked back to her office to help another customer. Not a "did you need anything else", "thank you for choosing U-Haul", "did you need me to pull the truck out", nothing. She continued to help another customer, and she was not finished with me and handed me the key from her door. I left with no issues and when I dropped off the truck at the next U-Haul facility one of the managers told me this was not the first time, they had heard of issues from Mary at Boerne Import Auto Werks, which is embarrassing for a business. Once again, I do not recommend this location for their business ever. read more

Mary ought to be the front spokesperson for UHaul! I have dealt with a lot of uhaul locations. This is the best yet. She gets my customer loyalty. No need to go anywhere else. read more

The lady that worked there accused us of lying about the gas level when we were dropping off the truck. I had barely gotten through the door before she got confrontational. I was completely blindsided, I had never met the lady before and she was calling me a liar, saying I wouldn't get a gas discount (no idea that was a thing), being extremely rude. I tried to explain that there must have been a mistake, I had reported the gas gauge exactly as I had read it when we picked up the truck. Was there a way she could show me the discrepancy she was seeing? She simply stated she knew the exact level of gas in the truck when we picked up via the app and that we lied. I genuinely had no idea how to respond, it was almost comical how certain she was about something that absolutely did not happen. I offered that maybe the dial in the app had glitched, but I absolutely had not lied. She just kept saying we wouldn't get one past her and she was charging us for the incorrect gas level. We went back and forth, and she started getting really heated. After a long day of moving, I found myself incredibly drained by her behavior. I put my hands up and told her she was the boss in the most placating tone I could manage, trying to get her to calm down so we could do the drop off inspection and I could leave. Dealing with her aggression was not worth a gas credit. Overall I left that place feeling upset, confused, and a bit amused. I would never go back to this place again, and if you ever rent from UHaul, make sure you take a picture of that gas gauge!! read more

The woman who came out to get my keys was immediately rude and condescending. She began by telling me in a very accusatory tone that I damaged the side of the truck, but the damage was preexisting. She declined to show me before pictures, but insisted that I was responsible. She informed me that I should have pictures from pick up, which I do not have nor was I informed I needed to obtain. Then, when I pushed back using her same tone, she told me to leave the premises, which I did. She later charged me $260 for “overhead damage,” which isn't covered by damage protection. When I called UHaul customer service, I was told by UHaul that the damage was obviously pre-existing and well documented in previous contracts. So, not only is Mary extremely rude and condescending, she's also a liar who seems to enjoy using her very small amount of authority to provide horrible customer service. Do not use this location if you can avoid it. Terrible experience all the way around, and nobody needs that kind of aggravation when moving is stressful enough as it is. read more
