Renter beware of description online - I rented a unit online without going to see the site. I assumed that if they offered multiple floors there would be an elevator. There was not! My unit was on the second floor and i had a split unit that should have been next to each other. However this one had a unit in between my two units. While there it was very busy with people returning trucks. So i was never really help. But a U-Haul employee from another store was there helping out. When i asked what i need to do to cancel my unit it is not what i wanted. I was told its best to go online and do it. I couldn't find anywhere online to do this. I then called the 1-800 number the lady who answered was helpful but said the store needed to do the return. That i still haven't received anything on. I will never use them again. read more

**Find another installer--or do it yourself.** All in all, I got ripped off by U-Haul. I paid U-Haul to install a tow hitch and wiring on my 2023 Honda Passport. The hitch itself was bolted on securely--I'd certainly hope so. But the rest of the experience was a mess. Thirty-seven minutes after I dropped off my vehicle, I got a call saying it was ready. I paid $165 for labor, which means they charged me over $200/hour. For that price, I expected professional work--not something that looked like cousin Clem had slapped it together in his backyard. When I picked up my Passport, I noticed the wiring connector wasn't mounted next to the hitch. I asked the installer to show me where it was, and he opened the hatch, lifted the rear floor cover, and pointed to a wire dangling from under the trim. He said I was supposed to just pull it out and hook it up to the trailer. Then he claimed that to mount it properly next to the hitch, he'd need to drill a two-inch hole into the body of my vehicle. I was stunned. I'd watched U-Haul's own installation videos, which clearly showed a grommet that allows the wire to pass through the frame--no drilling required. I filed a complaint with U-Haul, which was forwarded to the same location. They told me to come back and they'd "make it right." When I returned, the installer (James) insisted he'd have to cut the wire to get it through the hole. Again, completely wrong--U-Haul's own video showed that the 4-wire flat connector fits through without issue. At that point, I told the General Manager I'd do it myself. I didn't want James touching my vehicle again. The GM was kind enough to give me a mounting bracket for free, and I left. Later, I discovered that the left rear seat button no longer worked. I suspected James had disconnected the switch and failed to reconnect it. Sure enough, when I removed the trim to properly mount the bracket and route the wiring, I found the seat connector - which was indeed left disconnected - and reconnected it. And yes--James was wrong again. The flat 4 connector passed through the grommet hole with zero issues. I mounted the bracket properly and finally have a clean install, instead of the hillbilly setup U-Haul left me with. read more

We moved out of state and reserved a storage space sight-unseen. Couldn't be happier. Climate controlled storage meant our items have been safely stored for 3.5 years and access is secure. A code is given to you to enter and exit, in addition to a padlock on the unit. Cameras are within the building and I never felt unsafe if I had to run and grab items. I admit...I'm that person who rummages through left over items, up front, but I also donate. Great quality. Affordable. read more

The person who checked me in was great... from there it went down hill. I got over charged on my mileage (it was only 17 not 43) and then they charged me $8.04 for gas, which is their price for 2 gallons. So... a brand new cargo van only gets 8.5 miles to the gallon. The worst customer service! Inattention while completing the rental agreement resulted in the customer completing services that had been requested, multiple times, as part of the rental. Customer Service was not prepared and it took almost 30 minutes to locate the correct equipment. I do not recommend using this dealership. read more

I rented a cargo trailer, there were some problems with my hitch, Ryan had been helping an elderly lady put boxes in her car then came and immediately helped me with my vehicle. He was very nice, professional and took care of all my trailer problems. He did all this while also assisting one of his team workers who was having difficulties with moving a trailer. Ryan kept a smile on his face, it was 110 out and he wore many hats and did so with such grace and professionalism. He is truly an asset to your company. I rented a pickup and had no issues but a day later I rented a 15ft truck and was told to bring it back at a quarter tank. when I got in the truck it was on full and brought it back a little under full. 3/4 days later I see charges on my account and was told it was for to putting gas. This could have been a clerical error done by the person checking in the trucks but Dontae refused to resolve the issue and explained unless I have prof the charges would stand. He assured me corporate would do nothing and did not take into consideration that I put too much gas in the first truck I rented so how is my integrity in question. Its giving scam likely read more

Charged $107 for 10 foot truck that we drove approx 25 miles, less than an hours time, $30 of which was a surcharge for what they said was less than 1/4 tank. Unless they emptied the tank there is no sure way of assessing 1/4 tank as the fuel gauge didn't seem to move and no sure way that the tank was 1/4 full? Asked to have the $30 removed no such thing. I have rented trailers many times at this uhaul location without much problem. Today I was told they need to take a picture of my driver's license on their cell phone. It didnt seem right. They said this policy started over a month ago, yet two weeks ago it was not done, and it was the same person assisting me. Jesse Ashcroft started getting in the conversation, raising his voice and yelling at me. He started accusing me and said its people like me that do not privide information is why they are having issues.... I asked to speak to a manager and Jesse said he is the president of the company. If it is indeed true, he is one rude president and definitely will never use his service again! He drove me out of the store yelling at me! He said go use Budget! This was a nightmare. I flew in on a one way flight to AZ from Texas because I needed to drive all my furniture out to Texas. I had my father in law set up a one way attachment moving trailer and he went in the week before to confirm our reservation. Uhaul guaranteed that there will be a truck for us on that day. If not at that location they will have one at a different one. The day comes and we go in to get the truck and they say they don't have our truck and that there's none available in the area. Basically said SOL. John said he would give us a call in the next hour about a different truck and we did not hear anything from him. We even tried to call and our calls were dodged. This is very poorly ran and I would not recommend this business to anyone. I ordered and paid in full for a hitch and wiring install at my local U-Haul 2 weeks before taking it in. When I arrived for my appointment, they did not have the wiring ready. Mistakes happen, I understand. After leaving my car a second time, I arrived 10 hours later to find that my car is still not completed and not even close to being completed. Being frustrated and needing my car back, I asked them to put everything back to the way it was . While driving I realized that my rear left lights no longer function. The car is a month old and U-Haul missed up the wiring. The most frustrating part was that U-Haul didn't communicate with me at all. When I asked for explanations I just received excuses. I have lost trust in the store and don't trust the store to fix the issue. I'm more concerned that they will cause more electrical issues. read more

Robert Ryan is the man who assisted my mom and I at the front desk, we were very calm because he seemed to be having a bad day but he was cussing and hitting the desk because he was frustrated with whatever he was doing on his computer. we didn't say much but when we did, we asked a simple question and he pinched his nose and shook his head. Throughout the whole interaction he was chewing ice with his mouth open. He was very passive aggressive towards his coworkers, specifically the guys who cleaned out our u-haul. We arranged to pick up a truck this past weekend 3/26 and it was a nightmare. They suggested we use contactless check in so we could pick up the truck early so we showed up around 6:30a and tried to follow instructions from the text we received. I'm fairly tech savvy having spent the last several years working in IT but there instructions were horrible. We reached out to 3 people who worked there and I understand they may have not been on the clock but you would think one of them would have a bit of customer service tendencies and offer to assist. The best advice came from a rude person who simply said you have to download the app and follow instructions but he didn't know anything else. You may want to train you employees on features you expect your customers to know inherently and I would highly suggest some basic customer service training. I'll never use this location again. I've used Uhaul for years and this is the worst experience I've every had! read more

To start with I opted for the Truck Share option so I don't have to wait in line. I stood at the counter that was for Truck Share customers. After being ignored and 3 other customers being helped I finally asked if I was in the wrong place. The employee asked what I needed and I simply pointed at the Truck Share sign. He made some calls and told me my truck was being cleaned and 40min later I finally got the key. I had made a reservation and it still took 40min. I moved 20 miles away and tried to return the truck to the closest Uhaul to me. I got told I had to return the truck to the original Uhaul that is an additional 20 miles away. I was never told I had to bring it back to the same store and was told by the manager at that it is in my contract. Let's be realistic, these contracts are like the "terms and conditions" nobody reads and agrees to. So I was made to drive the truck 20 miles out of the way and take a Lyft back to my vehicle. I cant help but wonder if it was so I could be charged an additional .79 a mile. I rented a moving truck to move, why would I want to bring it back to the same place? I spent 20 years in the military and used Uhaul many times for my moves. I had never run into this kind of poor customer service. read more

Staff was friendly but we have been waiting over two hours for something that should've taken what they told us would be an hour. The original quote for installation said specifically what needed done but for some reason the person working on the vehicle took an hour just to find that out... Very frustrating. We would've brought another car to get our other errands done had we known it was going to take so long. Adding to this review 3 1/5 hours it took to install break light hookups for a camper trailer. They quoted us around 45 mins to an hour. Towards 3 hours they kept saying 5 more mins. Finally I went outside to the garage to ask how much longer that we had to be somewhere and the manager said it'll be fine then walked away! I walked a few mins and went back inside and he was cashing my friend out but I just thought it was very rude. My husband just had wiring for a trailer installed in my Jeep at this location. IT WAS DONE INCORRECTLY. I am SO BEYOND UPSET. When you pay to have a "professional" install wiring, it should NOT be coming out the weather stripping of the door to plug into the trailer. Rented a 15 ft. truck last week to move some things to Flagstaff. Truck performed well and was clean. Pick up and drop off (in Flag) was friendly and easy. The only negative was that the gas level was at a little over a half, which for leaving it at that level, made it more difficult. They should have had it at full. read more

I rented a cargo trailer for the weekend, and everything started out great. On the way to our destination a car flagged me down to tell me a piece of the tire hit them, and then we waited 2 hrs for roadside assistance, annoying but okay we dealt with it. Then on the way home we had a pit stop to eat, and noticed the other tire was also falling apart! So since we were in a small town I proceeded to a tire shop and got it changed, saved the tire and the receipt so I could get reimbursed. Once I returned the trailer he said I should have called roadside and that he could only reimburse half of the cost! Never asked if we were okay, how it happened, nothing! Half! That was not my fault or responsibility! They have no customer service because they know there's not many other options for us! They don't care! Now they made money off me and got 2 new tires! Do not rent from this location. POS system went down during transaction and then they required cash only. Had to go to bank to get cash including $100 deposit. Returned truck and person with owner shirt was clueless. Tried to charge extra for miles when miles were under amount in contact, tried to charge for gas for not being full not contact said 3/4 tank which it had more. He relied on computer versus listening to the customer and reading contact. Finally agreed to give $100 deposit back but wanted to put on a card vs cash. We said no we wanted cash as we didn't trust it would credit card since we paid in cash. Received deposit back in all $5 and $1 bills. read more
