I was told by Hope that she will not stay a minute past noon because she had a graduation to go to. I told her i would get there asap and then she further told me that i needed to get there before noon and again said because she would not stay over 12:00. I replied that her problem is not my problem and i have a reservation. She then said you can't talk to me like that and took it upon herself to cancel my reservation. read more

I had to drive a 26 foot moving truck for 1700 miles, sitting on a metal bar with a spring poking into my pants. On top of that, the lights would stay on unless I would turn them off before stopping the engine. Never get a truck from this location, unless you have the time and the required daylight to check things out thoroughly. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. I reserved a truck, set my pick up time for 1pm and drove from California to pick it up and get my things from my storage. The day of my move as I'm driving to California, I get a phone call from Mary, informing me I need to go to this location for my truck and oh by the way they close at noon. I inform her I'm on my way from Cali and my gps says I'll be there around 11:48. She agains says we close at noon. So I drove straight threw no bathroom breaks no food and arrive around 11:40. They pull my truck out and it's a massive piece of junk. Top torn open, dents. I take the keys go out side and instantly know this thing is too big. I got back in where another person tells me he can't promise anything but he'll see if we can switch it out for a smaller one. He comes out to me and says we'll cancel your trip but can't get you a smaller truck. I ask why? Because it's now 5 to noon that's why. Mary refused to switch my rental. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Do not rent from here. read more

Literally on a strict budget and needed to move. I got quotes from a few truck rental places, budget seemed to have the best. For a 16 foot truck and approx 50 miles they quoted me 56$ with my discount code and I was like great! I see my bank account a week later and they had charged me over DOUBLE of what they quoted me. I called to ask for an invoice and they said I would have to COME to the location and pick it up because they can't email anything. Wtf?! This is 2019, they asked if I had a fax machine..at my place of residence..seriously, will never use them again, very unhappy about their scam ways and surprise "taxes, fees, special tax, etc" stick with uhaul, at least they're up front about what is getting charged and you're not surprised a week later... read more

We rented a 12foot truck to drive from Phoenix to Dallas. We ONLY had an antique bed frame, vanity, chair and 2 boxes. These were family heirlooms and important to stay in the family. We went to pick up the truck and they only had a 16 foot truck! I said we don't want a bigger truck!!! They said that is all we have and take it or leave it. We were on a time crunch so we took it. The clerk INSISTED the gas mileage was the same. I doubted her but we took the truck anyway. We later looked at the Budget website and the website does have an average difference of 3mpg more for the smaller truck. Long story short we spent $150 more in fuel than we needed to based on their lack of truck availability. We complained to Budget and they DID NOT CARE!! They basically don't care what you rent, you will get what they give you or so long to you. Their "Terms and Conditions" state they can do this for any rental. In short Budget Truck Rental are Liars, con-men and then they simply don't care one little bit about customer service. I am so disgusted by their lack of customer service and ability to rent appropriate truck sizes. They have no means to rent you what you actually want unless its a 16ft truck because that is all they have. read more

UNSAFE TRUCK - DO NOT EVER RENT FROM BUDGET on 67th AVE and BELL ROAD in Glendale, AZ. The truck they rented me had SAFETY ISSUES and they did NOT care. I called and made them aware that the passenger mirror that would not stay in place for longer than a few miles and they blew it off. Well, the problem persisted on my 300 mile trip and I had to stop several times to get out and adjust it again only to have it not stay after a few miles. (Yes, I tried duct tape) Ok, so, anyone can rent a moving truck - what if it was someone who had never driven large vehicles (or on an interstate), towed trailers, etc??? Someone would have been hurt or died!!! Not to mention the other issues such as the alignment problem I had to overcompensate for the whole trip. Compared to the afore mentioned, the other inconveniences such as disgusting filth, smell, non working interior light, non working usb charger, no radio if you did try to charge.. is small stuff. Seriously, DO NOT rent here. I'm pursuing every avenue I can to file a complaint and make people aware of their nonchalant attitude regarding safety - they put at least one UNSAFE truck on the road - not acceptable - one too many. Oh, and the $10 off the bill? Really? That's it? They could have refunded the entire bill and I would still post this because it is UNSAFE!!! I would love to see maintenance records, an inspection report, what an independent mechanic would say today about this truck. Totally unacceptable and their lack of concern over safety is very disturbing. Stick with UHAUL and Penske even if the rates are higher. Go with SAFETY first for yourself, your loved ones and everyone else on the road. read more

TOTAL SCAM.. FRAUD... STEALS MONEY... ACCUSES CUSTOMERS OF LYING .. See attached receipts. BUDGET IS A SCAM - keep all receipts - make sure addresses are on receipts are they will deny them. WORST experience EVER! HORRIBLE customer service. They charged me for not filling up the tank and when I called Mary accused me of trying to pull a fast one saying MOST customers disputing gas charges conveniently "forget" then try to get out of the charge the next day. She did everything but call me a liar.. I went down in person and Hope argued with me about Mary claiming I was trying to scam them for the gas. Claiming Hope was there when I spoke to Mary on the phone. Flat out argued with me saying no she didn't every time I clearly explained to her the details of the conversation. condescendingly.. Then FLAT out refused to take my receipt and kept arguing relentlessly with me. They CLAIM THEY filled the tank up the next morning exactly 8.3 gallons. I went 102 miles. Trucks get 8-10 miles a tank. I showed her my receipt she claims the receipt didn't show the address of the gas station. I said if the truck was given to me on a full tank and only 102 miles were put in the truck and my receipt says 8.6 gallons were put in the truck then obviously the gas station was within 2 miles of them. Hope asked me to leave the store and told me if I had a problem to call customer service. Cust serv hung up on me TWICE - said they didn't believe this happened that the stores have no way to overcharge, yet they charged me for gas I already put in the truck. Then asked me to email a fake email address the receipts and it auto rejected the email then I called back and they said they gave me the wrong email no one had heard of the email they originally gave me. Then gave me another email and no one ever responded. Impossible to get through. Please tell me how THEY put in gas to a truck and I have a receipt for putting almost that exact amount in as well. Who's the liar here? Where is your receipt? I have given you guys my receipt in person, in an email and now on here. Yet you still stole my money saying I did not fill up the tank. My husband, my grandfather, myself and our four pets were moving cross country. We had our dodge ram and a large budget truck hauling my camry. I was driving our dodge ram with our four pets while my husband and grandfather followed in the budget truck. WITHIN 20 MILES of leaving our home in Peoria, Arizona- my husbands flashers go on and he pulls over. My husband calls to tell me that they just got a FLAT ON THE HAULER that my camry is sitting on. ARE YOU JOKING? The pets do well when they are moving but when they sit still- the dogs begin barking and the cats begin meowing. My husband finally tells me to keep driving and he will catch up with me soon. Well, "soon" comes and goes as it takes budget 3 hours to get to them. During that time, we won't be making it to our hotel in another state. We end up having to get a new hotel reservation in New Mexico and I end up unloading checking in and unloading everything including the pets all by myself. Finally, at 3:00am, my husband and grandpa arrive at the hotel. Everyone gets some rest and we wake up around 6:00am to catch up on missed time from yesterdays nightmare. Once again, my husband goes to the budget truck and this time A DIFFERENT TIRE IS FLAT on the car hauler with my Camry. At this point, we are all frustrated and exhausted. We call Budget and explain the situation. They say it will be a few hours before someone can get to us. At this point, we are well behind schedule and again wont make it as far as we would like to. We decide to unload my Camry and the 3 of us end up all driving separately. I drive the ram, my 80 year old grandfather drives my camry, and my husband drives the Budget. At this point, we are praying the Budget won't breakdown because we will be completely out of options. Our second hotel has to be canceled and another reservation made elsewhere. We have lost out on hundreds of dollars at this point and I'm concerned we won't make it in time for our previously setup appointments. These include: meeting the realtor to get our keys, meeting with the movers, AT&T to set up our phone and internet. I also have to be back in time to start my new job. We finally make it to Charlotte, NC at 1:30am when I have to be at my new job at 8:00am. I am beyond agitated and exhausted. Budget completely let us down. Our safety was of no concern to them and I would NEVER rely on them again. Clearly, the tire pressures and reliability of the equipment are not checked regularly. Their customer service and roadside assistance was below par. Not to mention, we got the best car insurance just in case something were to happen. In this case, IT DID. Overall, customer service said they will look into this case and we should call back within 10 - 14 days to see the status of the case. Again, Budget does not care about me as a customer and they do not take any responsibility. They heavily lack on the dependability of their products. I BEG YOU FROM MY FAMILY AND PET FAMILY TO YOURS- GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR SAFETY AND WANT A COMPANY TO RELY ON- THIS IS NOT IT! read more

I rented a truck from Franklin, Massachusetts to Glendale, Arizona. I have had nothing but problems from the beginning and no response from your company. The truck was dirty, trash from previous renter, dunkin donuts growing fungus and other trash under seats. Upon getting the truck it which was scheduled to be picked up at 10am the associate was not available, stating paperwork was not ready. After an hour wait he then informed me that the truck was at another location and that I would have to go pick it up and just text him any inspection issues. He was informed that the ramp was broken. He was informed that the speedometer did not function properly. In addition to the headlights, windshield wipers not properly functioning. Which made it impossible to drive the truck in the rain or at night, leaving my children and I stranded on the side of the freeway for 2 hours durning a lightning storm. I was also told that any DEF that had to be added to keep the receipts and I would be reimbursed at my drop off location due to the DEF tank having a leak. He did not response to the multitude of malfunctioning parts on this truck. Upon arriving at the drop off location I informed the new associate of all the issue and presented the receipts for the DEF and was told that it was not her issue and I would have to eat the expense. This has been the absolute worst experience Ive ever had. I cannnot believe that anyone would think it would be okay to have this truck in service especially knowing that children would be passengers. I asked about returning the truck early and was told I was not able to return it early and had to keep it the full time. read more

Customer service training is needed for all staff except the young man. The ladies are rude!! They claimed we did not top tank off when we had and then charged us another $10. We turned the truck in a day early and was told that didn't matter. Asked for keys back to take somewhere else and was refused!! Clear and simple go somewhere else for Budget truck rentals will save major hassle. read more

What ever you do; don't rent a truck from Budget! They are horrible! I made a reservation for a 24 foot truck this past weekend. I arrived at the location to pick up my truck for the move and the lady at the counter tells me they don't have the truck. She offers me a 16 foot truck so (2/3) the size I needed. She acts as unconcerned as could be. Then she makes this my fault by saying what did I expect I only made the reservation that morning. Does that really matter. She offers to call her boss, then 15 minutes later tells me he is not back in the office until Monday. She refers me to customer service, where I talk to 1, 2, 3 people then finally get my issue escalated to a supervisor. The supervisor tells me, too bad. He then says he will have the inventory manager call me back. The call back time frame is an hour and fifteen minutes to two hours. At the 2.5 hour mark I call back in and after talking to 1,2,3 people I get told the inventory manager will call me when they get to it. There are a lot of people who are waiting for a call back because there are not trucks. I go ahead and cancel the reservation. About 45 minutes later I get a call from the inventory manager. He says they don't have any trucks that I requested. Again he can get me a 16 foot truck. I express my frustration, he tells me he completely understands because the system is really bad and he spends his day trying to fix something for the unhappy people. SO at the end of the day I rented from Uhaul. They took care of me, they were cheaper, and the staff was much better! My guess is Budget tells you they will get you the truck you need only to downsize you into a truck that is too small. It helps them move their inventory on less frequently used trucks. Never say never, but it will be a cold day in July before I even think about renting from Budget. read more

*** TOTAL SCAM*** STAY AWAY*** The staff is rude and unprofessional. They pulled a cheating move charging us for a windshield that was broken when we picked it up. The Agent claimed it was not a big deal at point of pick up and asked to sign the forms- when we arrived the agent went straight for the windshield and didn't even look at the rest of the truck. I was charged for a windshield in addition to having conflict with scheduling. I spent 800 dollars for three days and they still had to cheat me out of the cost for a windshield. So check your windshield- they will probably put it out on the lot and do the same to another trusting customer. Is business this bad, Budget has to cheat and steal from its customers. Hope to read about this company when they get busted or go bankrupt over their shady practices. Thought I was alone, but it seems I am not the only one writing about Budget's borderline criminal activity. read more
