A staff member offered to help for a $100 clean-out fee, and also mentioned a $25 fee to cut the lock. She was kind, professional, and I appreciated the assistance -- so I paid both fees. About a week later, I received a call from a man who began yelling and cursing at me, saying I was treating their business like a trash service. It turned out he was the owner, Garrett. I explained that his employee had offered the service and I had paid for it in good faith. Despite that, he continued being rude and argumentative, and ultimately refused to refund the $100 clean-out fee. Ironically, the contract itself states that if items are left behind, there is a $100 clean-out fee -- so I'm unsure why this situation was treated differently. It seems I could've just left the items and been charged the same amount, without the stress and mistreatment. Garrett repeatedly emphasized that he's the owner and questioned why he'd spend his time cleaning units -- yet again, his employee offered the service, not me. At one point, he even made a comment about how much money he has, which felt completely unprofessional and irrelevant. I will never rent from this facility again. This was not only poor customer service, but also deeply unprofessional behavior from someone representing a business. I would not recommend doing business with them.

We rented a storage unit for just over a year, and each and every single time we needed correspondence from Garrett he was either rude and short with us, condescending and insulting or just completely ignored us. It didn't seem to matter in what way we tried to contact him. We tried calling, texting and emails. We only received information FROM him when he felt the need or was legally required to inform. If you do agree to pay and sign the paperwork for a storage then he's finished as far as he is concerned. Only Two times in over a year did he make contact. First time we had the wrong lock. Ok, no problem, but to ask what specific one we needed we had no idea where to purchase and he didn't feel the need to say. So we bought a different lock, but it is now unfortunately for us that last month he contacted us for the 2nd time to say our storage had no lock on it. Turns out it was broken into and we decided enough was enough and removed all of our personal items and made sure it was clean. We sent him texts with pictures to prove we had vacated and kindly asked since we were on auto pay if we would be receiving a partial refund and the cancellation paperwork to indeed verify our agreement had officially been terminated. We waited weeks for a response and then I get my next invoice for December and tried to ask him again. NOTHING! To this day still nothing! We even contacted the police and filed a report and then police officer informed us that this was such an often enough occurrence and he has been asked/told to get cameras for security purposes. So it seems he doesn't care about his customers at all. We've also contacted the better business bureau (BBB) for Indiana and filed an official complaint about his business and his business tactics. ZERO STARS! Do not go to Garrett at Affordable Storage. The rates are decent but what you pay for in the end isn't worth it. As a ex-Army brat and wife who had to move all around the United States and use other storage facilities before this was the worst service ever!

Regarding the outside storage spots at this facility, there is no security on this facility as the…read moresecurity fence does not run along the backside of the property. It appears a thief actually walked around the side fence carrying his battery powered saw and cut off the catalytic converter from our vehicle. Based on that lack of security and that their outside storage policy is you lease at your own risk, I would not recommend this being labeled as an "All Secure..." facility and we will be moving our unit elsewhere. The risk is yours if you lease here!
