Generally I've had reliable service, but the dynamic pricing scheme is crazy! One night I took a ride 2 miles that cost $7. Later that night, the same ride cost $16! Even with rising gas prices I don't see how they can justify doubling the rate. And don't get me started on Uber Eats! With the hidden fees, once was definitely enough. I waited for my driver to arrive at the hospital after my post-operation appointment with my surgeon. The app informed me that my driver had arrived, but I didn't see the car, so i decided to call. A man answered with an angry tone and said he was at the hospital's main entrance. I asked him to please drive to door F and he huffed in anger and hung up. I saw the car drive up soon after the phone call. The license plate number (ATH8558) and car type (white Buick Lucerne) matched. The driver's name was Lon and he was a white older man. When I first got in the car, I asked the driver to state my name for extra security. He stated my name with a very angry and annoyed tone of voice and asked if I checked the license plate number and car. I said "yes". He then asked, "Now, how do I know you're Jessica and not some person scamming me for a ride?" I thought that was very rude of him to say, but I am not a confrontational person, so I stayed quiet. I did inform him quickly that I recently had surgery and did not feel safe driving yet. He had no response to this information. I paid attention to where he was driving but I could not see the GPS screen on his phone as I was in the backseat. I noticed when he missed the second to last turn. I then told him that a turn was missed, so he can pull into a nearby driveway to make a simple left turn in order to return to the road. He appeared not to be listening to anything I was saying. He waited as he thought the house we were in front of was my address. When I didn't get out of the car, he said something to the effect of "Are we done here?" I was surprised by his remark because I just explained to him that he missed a turn. He apparently was not listening to me. I reiterated what I had just said. He then just moaned and groaned in anger and hit his steering wheel in frustration. He began yelling at me that this was my fault as I should have told him where to turn. His GPS was on, so I did not think it was my responsibility to navigate the drive. I told him the GPS probably made a mistake, and he complained that it was my fault and he said that the road is a busy road. This comment was strange to me because a professional driver should be comfortable driving on busy roads and backtracking to the correct location if a road was missed. I believe this is part of the job. I told him again to turn the car around in the large driveway and then make a simple left turn to get back on track. He did not move the car for 10 or so seconds and then angrily yelled, "But the road is busy." At this point, I was shocked! The road is really not that busy and all he had to do was yield to traffic and make a simple left turn. I could see the intersection and pointed it out to him. I then felt uncomfortable and unsafe with his yelling and behavior. I decided to get out and walk a mile or two home. I was worried because I have nerve and muscle pain as I just went through abdominal surgery. As I was walking on the side of the highway, he drove up next to me. He seemed to be able to make the simple left hand turn back on the highway after all! I wondered why he was complaining about making the turn when I was in the car. As he drove by me, he rolled down his window and laughed and said, "I'm going to take your picture!" He then said in a sarcastic and demeaning tone, "You look beautiful" as I walked alone next to a highway crying in pain. I yelled that I just had surgery and that I would report him. He laughed and drove off. This man needs to be fired and I need a refund. This man is a danger to society and can not be trusted when interacting with the public, especially individuals who may have physical limitations. He is unable to follow simple directions and is unable to control his emotions or handle minor inconveniences. read more
