I spoke to a Rhys/Reese about a screen replacement for my MacBook Pro. That model requires TrueTone calibration after replacement, which can only be done with Apple's software. uBreakiFix claims to be an Apple repair partner that uses OEM parts, so no problem, right? Nope. He hung up on me after confidently insisting that no such feature has ever existed and that he was going to hang up if I kept "arguing with him" (by asking him to confirm it with a simple, quick web search), and that "anybody can put anything on the web". I would confidently insist, in turn, that insecurity and bluster are no replacement for an actual skill set and that uBreakiFix needs to raise the bar to actual competence when they hire people, or at least make sure they have the ability to do basic research instead of falling back on huffing, puffing, and impotently flailing. This place is awesome. Bare bones and work. They are very helpful and willing to work through techy things for you. I was neevous it was going to the typical "we cant do this and/or that". Ira B. helped me with the repair of my galaxy flip and he took the time to explain the process to me and was extremely knowledgeable. If you break it, they will definitely fix it. This company is the worst. They never fix anything, they never stand behind their work and they are the rudest people you would ever want to encounter. I spoke to a manager there who was so absolutely devoid of emotion, I thought she had been dead for six days. She was unprofessional, obnoxious, and couldn't have cared less that I'd spent hundreds of dollars with them and was still stuck with a Zune MP3 player that did not work. Her answer? "Don't use a device that's 20 years old." That's the kind of service you can expect from these people. DO NOT SEND YOUR DEVICES TO THEM. Avoid them at all costs. They are reprehensible. They will cause you misery and anguish, charge you a lot of money and go laugh in a corner when you tell them your device still doesn't work. read more

Saturday, I dropped my phone off with a broken screen. Ira walked me through the diagnostics and repair process. He told me that it would be a couple hours, which I thought was great, but it ended up being less than an hour. I was still shopping nearby so that was awesome! Stay away. Had my ipod for over a year, after I finally got them to fix it, it was still not working so I had to pay to send it back to them and then pay even more for them to fix what was originally wrong with it so the first time was just a donation. You can definitely tell the difference between the old company and the new company. Lesson learned. Wont get anything else from me.
