NVIH medical has progressed into an excellent facility. The current medical staff, although clearly very busy, is extremely caring, takes time with patients, and is surprisingly efficient. Everyone I've encountered is friendly and I've had a couple of doctors and nurses go far above and beyond to assist me in various ways. If you're looking for solid medical care, I strongly recommend NVIH. A big plus, btw, is that if you need blood labs done, you can do it right at at NVIH - no making an appointment with Quest and all that hassle. Unfortunately, I have nothing positive to say about Behavioral Health. It seems that good therapists don't stay and the not-good therapists don't leave. I will come right out and say that there are at least a couple of therapists at NVIH who should not be practicing, because they do more harm than good. Seriously: look elsewhere if you need professional mental health help.

DO's are just as much doctors as MD's and should not be discredited. 5 years out of medical school (if true) doesn't mean anything as far as how good of a doctor someone is. If you want a doctor with far more "experience" maybe find a doctor close to retirement, but I'm sure they will really be set in their ways.

This place is a JOKE!…read more I had an appointment at 3:20 PM and arrived at 3:00 PM because I was told to arrive 15 minutes early. After checking in, I waited in the lobby for about 30 minutes. A nurse eventually called me in, checked my weight, vital signs, and other information, and entered everything into my record. After that, I waited another hour and a half for the doctor. During all that time, no one came to check on me. I was experiencing a massive headache and chest pain, yet I was given no medication and no one seemed concerned about my condition. I finally walked out and asked the nurses how much longer I would have to wait. I told them I was having a severe headache, and I was told it could be another hour. At that point, I left. This is completely unacceptable. When a patient is experiencing chest pain and severe symptoms, they should not be left waiting for hours without being checked on or receiving appropriate care. I am extremely disappointed and upset about how this situation was handled. If something happens to me because I was left waiting without proper attention, I will hold this facility accountable. I feel like we could've just stayed home instead of paying our co-pay. This was the only place in our area that opened past 7pm. We probably wouldn't come back here.
