We got here about 1 hour before closing and there was no wait. The nurses were quick to process everything and we used Apple Pay for our co-pay. After the nurses asked us the general questions, the doctor came in. She just told my wife to take ibuprofen for her burns. She said to cold compress when we get home. She didn't offer any ice bags or any other methods to ease the pain. My wife had to ask for other types of pain management methods. After that, she offered a shot to help with her pain. I feel like we could've just stayed home instead of paying our co-pay. This was the only place in our area that opened past 7pm. We probably wouldn't come back here. read more

Just for the provider to tell me to do nothing and that she was going to do nothing. I was also lectured and told by her "this is not how science works." This urgent care is the one covered by my insurance (UC Blue and Gold HMO), so I came here as a walk-in because my son needed a finger abscess drained. It was Halloween morning, and surprisingly, there was only 1 other person in the waiting room. After paying the co-pay and filling out the necessary paperwork, we waited in the lobby and then were taken back to get vital signs taken, then led to an exam room. The medical assistant who took my son's vitals was very good with kids. The exam room was spacious, felt clean, and had a couple of chairs for us to sit on. It felt like we waited awhile for the PA to finally come see us. He introduced himself and gave my son (and me) options on how to treat the abscess - either poking or squeezing it. I appreciated that he gave my son an option, although when it came down to it, the poking also included squeezing, so that was unfortunate. All in all, the PA was very nice. From a cleanliness perspective though, the PA left the room to get supplies while wearing his gloves -- the same gloves he still had on when he came back into the room. From my medical background, that's a definite no-no. He should've taken off the gloves, washed his hands, grabbed his supplies, come back in and washed his hands, then put on new gloves. Just a little PSA for the medical field - to prioritize the health and safety of everyone. I appreciated that they were able to get everything taken care of - from draining the abscess, culturing it, and writing a prescription for antibiotics. It was a very smooth process. My daughter went in with ear pain, was examined, PA checked one ear, she was swabbed for strep/flu/covid (all negative) and got as handed paperwork advising her she had an upper respiratory infection and was told she was fine and she could leave. Fast forward 6 hours later I took her to the Sutter Davis ER because of excruciating ear pain radiating to her jaw and she was diagnosed with a bilateral ear infection. After she told me what we needed, I said thank you and she just hung up. So... we go to the clinic and I said "Good Morning Ladies" and I just get nasty looks from the obviously same receptionist. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Sunday February 20, 2022. If I could give 'Davis Urgent Care,' at 4515 Fermi Place in Davis, MINUS ten stars I would. Stunningly unprofessional medical office, with the rudest front desk person on the planet. First thing you notice walking in the dirty door is the LOUD TV on the wall, playing at full volume. Second thing you notice is the frowning receptionist and equally unhappy woman standing next to her. No welcome. No greeting. Just a glare. Even though I'm a cash paying customer, arriving in hope of getting a prescription for antibiotics, the dour receptionist insisted she had to take a picture of my driver's license, while handing me a 5 page questionnaire to fill out. When I asked if she could turn down the TV, she curtly replied 'NO'. The one other person there waiting to be seen looked at me and rolled her eyes towards the reception desk in solidarity. At this point I walked out. There are other urgent care options in Davis, as well as some excellent online doctors. Fortunately, shortly after my departure I found a 5 star medical office directly across the street from this dreadful place. read more

I did not have a good experience here. The only positive was that they were completely empty when I arrived so I was seen within 5 minutes. I had an exam the next morning but was convinced to go in since I was in such bad shape. So I used up my last few hours of study time to come here for absolutely nothing. The nurse took a history from me, then relayed a completely inaccurate summary to the doctor because when she came in we were on very different pages. I told her I had had a high fever and been bed ridden for 10 days. She told me that was normal and I probably had a virus. Other than listening to my lungs she literally did not touch me. She did not so much as feel my lymph nodes. She told me I was "stable" and sent me home. The next day I ended up at a different urgent care where they ordered a chest X-ray and diagnosed me with pneumonia. In addition to antibiotics they also ran multiple diagnostics for zoonotic diseases since I told them I work with animals (which I had also told to this doctor). Overall it was a huge waste of time and incredibly frustrating. I also later received a bill for $200 after being told by them that my insurance would cover it (which was the only reason I went to this clinic specifically). read more

RUN, RUN AWAY! RUN, AS FAST AS YOU CAN! The administration of this urgent care chain are incapable and shady as hell if you let them take advantage of you. I was actually supposed to get reimbursed by my insurance after visiting here and not having my card on me had paid cash. Not only did they not reimburse me, they sent a bill double the size of my original payment instead! YIKES. Insurance had requested me to get information from the urgent care for reimbursement. When calling up admin for Davis Urgent Care, they suggested that they could handle the exchange of information so I wouldn't have to go back and forth. I said, hell yeah. If they're willing to take it off my hands and I still get reimbursement anyway without any trouble, why not! They told me not to worry about it, a check would be sent my way from them in around 3-4 months. A couple months later, I get mail from them. WOW, YAY, MY REIMBURSEMENT CHECK! Boy was I wrong. Instead they sent a bill of $137 requesting additional payment when I paid in cash at the door ($120). They didn't explain a single thing about where this charge was from. Ignored it because I thought it was a fluke on them, maybe this was printed before my call with their representative. 3 more bills 3 months later, I was out of town for a while so I didn't get around to finding them until I got back. Last bill they are demanding payment or there will be "activity on my account." Thought WTF IS THIS?! Called them up, and thankfully I had my itemized receipts and whatnot saying that I had no balance and that my total was $120 paid full in cash and there shouldn't be anything else on the bill. The only nice thing about this was that Monica, who had taken my call, was incredibly cooperative and even friendly. I was expecting for the interaction to be more push-and-pull, as it is in health-care and disputing bills, but she understood the problem and immediately took the charge right off. Mentioned the reimbursement, and she said since it's out of the 90 day range, there's nothing they can do about it. Makes me wonder if they purposely wait after 90 days after assuring me that they'd handle it so they could keep my money. Regardless, be wary of urgent care practices in this country. I'm sure they pull this trick of tacking on charges to patient's bills and hope they're too busy to notice and just pay it without question, that's shady as hell. They weren't able to trick me with that, but I am still pissed about the lack of reimbursement. Wtf is that lack of accountability or confirmation, it feels like a total scheme to not pay people their money back. Disgusting, would not recommend this place at all! Although the doctor on site is kind, she's the only thing benefitting them because the front desk staff here are unfriendly as well. Have a "don't care, not my problem" vibe from them. The company advertises being "Open 9 AM to 9 PM, 365 Days a Year." However, this is false. They were closed on December 25th and had a window sign referring patients to a facility in Elk Grove, which about 25 miles away. I understand closing operations for a holiday and allowing staff to celebrate with their loved ones, but if this business is going to do so, maybe they shouldn't make such a big marketing fuss about how they're open every day of the year. This misrepresentation makes it unnecessarily difficult for sick people to coordinate care on a holiday. read more

I was referred to Davis Urgent Care for my phlebotomy externship. Once I arrived I was quickly greeted by the medical staff. They are all so welcoming, professional, efficient and friendly. They don't make you feel uncomfortable temporarily working in a new place. The clinic was very clean and spacious. As a Healthcare worker, from experience, administrative staff and medical assistants often are unsung in medical environments, even though their work is so important to the patient's experience they do not get recognized for their hard work. It's hard to come across medical staff that genuinely care and want to help you. They are awesome at what they do and caring!! KUDOS to the professionalism and expertise of these employees, especially Ari, Wendy, Christina, Cydni, Robert, Sean, NP Eyersalem and office manager Beth. THANK YOU for having me!! Avoid at all costs. You're better off crawling on bloody stumps to any other medical facility in the county. We had one great experience with a female MD last year and we really thought that we had a gem of a resource so close to home. Unfortunately, The last two times we saw a male PA that was just awful. If you find yourself with bloody stumps you should go to the ER anyway but stay away from this place even for a hang nail. Updated 5/19: Something is really wrong and shady with this place. If you have a good experience you are lucky. Go to another Urgent Care Clinic if you can. They won't share the images or tell me what they will be billing me for. I will start with the positive. There weren't any patients when we went, so they were able to take us in and have the x-ray results read fairly quickly. The MD was friendly. Now for the con: If you need your x-ray results to be downloaded or printed for you to take to Orthopedics, DO NOT come to this place. They took us in after I told them that UCDMG needed my son to get an x-ray of his hand for a referral. They took the x-ray, had their radiologist read the x-ray and then told us that there was no way to share the actual x-ray images because their machine was broken and they didn't know when it would be fixed. We would have gone somewhere else if they had told me this ahead of time, as I couldn't really get what we needed. I don't know what the end result will be as this happened today, but I hope I can save someone else the frustration- try Sutter Davis Urgent care or verify they can share images if that is what you need. They then tried to tell me that UCD would have to retake x-rays anyway, which is untrue per UCD. If you have good x-rays and images, you shouldn't have to have them retaken. Very frustrating experience. I hope this review gets to management and you get your staff the equipment they need to run an efficient clinic. It's not fair to them or the patient! read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I went to this establishment for a rash that started on my back. The doctor I saw before even seeing me thought I had a cyst. When he came in, he didn't even examine me but had me lift up my shirt and said they were bed bug bites. I knew this guy didn't know what he was talking about. We don't have bed bugs or fleas. I went to my primary physician a couple days later and was diagnosed with Shingles. I will never go back to this place. Save your time. read more

I was pretty anxious because of all the bad reviews, but I actually had a pretty good experience. I felt like the doctor was knowledgeable and not just trying to go for the easiest diagnosis and rush me out of there like I've felt at other urgent care places. They had the equipment for an EKG, and I felt like I was in good hands. Omg I love this place. I took my 1 year old son here yesterday because he was really constipated and was running a fever of 101.9. We saw Dr. Jeremiah (sorry I don't remember his last name but him and my son have the first name lol) But he answered all me and my boyfriend questions he was very knowledgeable and you can tell that he really cared! He told us that he has kids as well and understands what we are going through. The staff was really friendly and there was NO WAIT TIME. We were only there for an hour!! Our son is in his fourth year at UCDavis and during this time he has needed the immediate attention of an urgent care. Unfortunately he is from So Cal so he didn't have a primary physician up at school. He does now!!! All three times unfortunately could of turned out tragic for our son if he had not been vigilant and took it to the next level. They'd gotten it 2 weeks+ ago and over-the-counter hadn't worked. They thought they were seeing a doc, but they later found out it was a physician's assistant. If the idiot knew what she was talking about, they wouldn't have cared. But she didn't know diddly wink about ringworm.
