I have a Championship membership from another UFC gym. Briana the Assistant Operations Manager refuses to honor it. I find this to be unreasonable because this membership is accepted at all UFC gyms. My quuestion to Briana is why doesn't she accept it. I want to use the Recovery room at the UFC Brea gym and Briana doesn't believe that the Championship membershio from another UFC gym includes recovery so without my persmission she calls that UFC gym to verify it. I don't like it when Briana violates my boundaries without respecting me. This action represents the lack of respect at UFC Brea. I commented to Briana that she violated my boundaries by calling the other UFC gym without getting my permission first. Briana said "I'm doing you a favor " I was incredulous by this remark when she banned me from the gym earlier. At this point, I said to her I want you to leave me alone. I want you to go away. Living in the area I've been seeing this gym. My brother joined earlier this year and I've been curious to try it. I did a walk in to see it and an employee showed me around. He was kind of knowledgeable but typical sales man. I felt like he answered questions just to answer without caring on accuracy. Some things didn't really add up to what my brother had told me, but whatever. I tried a couple classes before deciding to join. Only reason I was looking to join is because I run out of credits from my yoga and my Pilates studios. I did a yoga class which is on the easier side, not so much of a workout. I'm used to power yoga a yoga six and could definitely tell the difference in difficulty and preparedness or lack of. I took a pilates class which is mat pilates, no reformers. I've taken 2 different instructors which have completely different styles. Thursday will be more cardio like and reminds me of HIIT. The Tuesday was more intentional movements and holding positions to work your muscles. For all 3 of these I highly recommend bringing your own mat, but they do have some available. My absolute favorite class so far has been the dance class. The instructor is Hugh energy, friendly and will take her time to guide you when needed. The second floor has all the equipment: weights, cardio, and bootcamp area. First floor are most of the classes and recovery center. read more

This is a great spacious gym with plenty of parking in the heart of Brea. I received personal training from three coaches so far and they were all wonderful! I'm currently being trained by Coach Katie and she is my personal favorite! She is so incredibly encouraging, motivating, and knowledgeable. Definitely goes above and beyond. I love how she takes the time to explain various exercises and the purpose behind them, so you know exactly why you're going through the different types of pain. She is also SO patient and does her very best to meet you where you're at while still pushing you past your limits. I transferred from the La Mirada UFC to Brea since I moved and I really like the Brea location. Machines feel new and there's a good amount of them so it never feels too cramped. When I transferred I signed up for personal training and am training with Coach Katie and she's AMAZING! Coach Katie really cares about giving you the most out of your training sessions. She's very observant so she'll watch you to make sure you're doing the exercises and movements correctly to prevent injuries and make sure you're getting a solid workout in. She absolutely pushes me to my max in the best way possible! I leave each session feeling good and sore! She encourages me and keeps me going, even when I feel like I can't keep going! Pro: Clean gym with a good variety of machines and heavy bags for kickboxing and DUT. Con: This is my 5th UFC GYM since my membership allows me to go anywhere. In none of the other gyms are there this many gym bros that thinks they're cool but just sad. Dude if you can't lift then lower your weight why tf are you dropping them? Not just one person either but at least five different guys just dropping weight on the machine. I get if you're doing 300 lbs deadlift but if you can't even do 50 lbs on the machine then maybe don't. All the weights and machines are on the second floor so when they drop it isn't just loud but it literally shakes the whole floor like an earthquake. I'm California native so earthquake to us is like what earthquake but here it's really bad. read more

Every month I get a notification and call in to ask them to cancel, they tell me I can't over the phone, after arguing finally they say they will cancel it .... by far the best UFC gym in the LA area in my opinion. I drive from DTLA to come here because of how clean it is, the knowledgeable coaches, and the new machines. I hardly see a wait time on any machines every time i come during peak hours (5pm-7pm). Definitely worth the drive. Also wanted to give a huge shoutout out to coach Rachel who is an amazing personal trainer and bad ass boxing coach. Already lost 8 pounds in less than a month with her guidance. Probably the worst location ever in terms of customer service. I came to cancel my membership because I'm moving over 20 miles away and the manager Brian Walker refused to cancel my membership. He was also extremely dismissive and kept asking why I was moving why I wanted to cancel why can't I just make the drive etc. This is not something that I'm unfamiliar with by the way because I've not only owned my own gym for six years. I've also managed multiple commercial gyms in my 20s so I know that this is completely inappropriate behavior. He kept cutting me off and barely would let me get a word in edgewise . I'm also a three-time certified Olympic weightlifting coach and he kept insinuating that I wouldn't know how to work out if I used an apartment gym and was just so condescending when this guy literally does not look like he knows how to even walk up a flight of stairs. After wasting my time and trying to tear me down, he then told me that he does not do cancellations and that I would have to go to the front desk. I even told him my gym membership is literally a $15 a month employee add-on so I don't even understand why they're hurting so badly for $15 a month but again all of my concerns were ignored. The front desk told me they're not able to do cancellations and I said that Brian refused to cancel and the front desk was completely shocked and confused as to why. They actually had to page someone to come down since Brian refused to do his job legally. He's also constantly blocking the front door to try to flirt with young trainers, which is really disgusting, but I wasn't gonna say anything about it until I was treated so poorly by him. Finally, the assistant manager helped me which I appreciated because that was very smooth and he's honestly the only person besides Robert Duran that has given me good service here. No matter what gym I owned or managed, I was always a 24 hour member until the Anaheim Garden walk location became ufc, which is the reason I switched to ufc to begin with, but honestly, it was a mistake and I'm so happy to be a canceled member read more

I usually have a good experience as a frequent gym-goer here. The other day, as I left the gym, I went out of my way (by about 5-7 seconds) to keep a door wide open for some guy walking in. No eye contact, no "thank you", nothing. It was the 3rd time that happened to me at that gym. It normally doesn't bother me. I get that some people have bad days or weren't taught manners. The difference this time, though, is that the dude was an employee there. I'm an independent personal trainer... despite that, showing respect to other patrons, even those I don't know, at my private gym, is imperative. No matter where you work, showing a smidge of gratitude to customers, especially when they're being generous, regardless of their appearance or whether or not they're extroverted or introverted, is essential in my opinion. I won't cancel my membership. It is the best gym in the area... in terms of aesthetics and convenience. It has a variety of state-of-the-art equipment. Hardly ever overcrowded. I just wish people, especially at their own workplace, would reciprocate respect when it's given to them. I may consider changing my review in the future, but for now I'm sticking with it. read more

I can rip through a complete set of everything I want - but some people do a set and sit on the same machine for 30 minutes because they are texting or looking at - well, one guess. You guys ought to have a "Please be courteous" message of some sort. Finally, there are two Deltoid Machines in constant motion and three"rope" machines I've never seen in operation. TERRIBLE! its been an on going issue with canceling my membership. I dont live in the area Briana told me to email Rachel which I never heard from. Sent multiple emails. After 2 months I went in to cancel my membership with Briana signed what I needed to sign to cancel the amount. Now im getting emails and messages stating I owe $420. Called the location today and they said I owe money my membership as never canceled. This place is ridiculous. Worst customer service! Terrible communication! I'm not one to write bad reviews. You can check my history and see I'm not one of those negative Yelpers. I'm writing this review because unfortunately, this Brea UFC gym is engaging in some manipulative practices that I need to make others aware of. My husband utilized the free recovery session offered to him. Since he found it beneficial, he decided to purchase 8 sessions to use throughout the year. His coach was unable to complete the transaction so he was referred to Chris. My husband provided his AMEX card and was charged $640 for the 8 sessions. Months later, we discovered that they had continued to charge $640 a month on the VISA he has on file for his membership dues. When we discovered this, my husband immediately asked to cancel this since he didn't sign up for this recurring service. He had to speak to management several times before it was actually cancelled. In the meantime, another $640 was charged. We immediately disputed these charges. My husband hadn't signed up for this recurring service. When we asked them to produce the "contract" where he signed up for this monthly service, they produced the signed "contract" that my husband thought was the receipt for the 8 sessions. He signed what he thought was the receipt for the eight sessions ONLY on the AMEX. However on the contract, it shows the VISA that is on file not the AMEX he gave them when he made the purchase. It has been a nightmare trying to get a refund for the 5 months of charges (totaling $3,200). He didn't sign up for this recurring service. He was never informed that he was signing up for a recurring service. These are manipulative practices to obtain bonuses or commission. Their management just refers me to their corporate office phone number but not surprisingly there is no one you can talk to. You just get the option to leave a voicemail. I have left several voicemails but no response. Be cautious and aware of these manipulative practices when signing anything. It's shameful that they trick and manipulate their customers like this. read more

I loved this gym when I first started going a year after it opened. Friendly staff, clean, new equipment, and it was never too busy especially during peak hours. Now it seems they've sold too many memberships for cheaper because no matter the time you go it's beyond full. Very difficult to get a bench. I started going here to avoid the packed gyms now I spend too long here waiting for equipment. I like to get my workout in asap and leave. I try to be courteous of people waiting. It's giving planet fitness sadly. Will continue going for now but I hope I don't have issues cancelling in the future if I leave since that seems to be a major complaint in the reviews. read more

Really loved this gym because it was nice and clean! But definitely tried to scam me with billing for physical training that I never agreed to. Rachel fuerpe Felipe a PT tried to charge me $420 one month then another 800$ that my bank caught suspicious then another 509$ the following month and when I tried to get a refund no body was really accommodating to help each time I caught onto the charges till I went to my bank lucky I did get a refunded but ended up cancelling.
