The staff here is awesome and never makes fun of me when I take a multi-month hiatus (LOL). UFC really has it all -- parking, lots of equipment, a clean space, and saunas in the locker rooms/ They do a good job keeping the equipment in good condition and are sure to mark any that are under maintenance. There is pretty much always a staff member cleaning at all times, so the overall space is very clean. There is also a studio space in the back of the gym where they offer group classes, but if there are no classes happening you are free to use the space on your own. The pricing is really great for what you get. We've been coming here for years and will continue to do so! read more

I attended a free UFC Gym event through Yelp Elite and overall had a great experience! The coaches were super informative, helpful, and really made sure we understood the basics. We started with a warm up, moved into footwork drills with partners, and then practiced boxing techniques on the bags. I will say, it would have been nice if they provided boxing gloves hitting the bags barehanded left my hands a little sore. The facilities were clean and well maintained overall, although a lot of the lockers in the locker room were either broken or locked already, which was a downside. On the positive side, I loved the variety the gym offers you can strength train, do jiu jitsu, boxing, and more. Plus, their membership is super flexible with no long-term commitment. They also have a massage station you can earn free sessions for by tagging your workouts (though honestly, I wish a free massage was just included!). They even treated us to free smoothies after the workout, which was a nice touch. Overall, it was a great experience so much so that I even considered switching from my regular gym and jiu-jitsu studio to join them! If they had more locations closer to me, it would be a no-brainer. read more

I heard that Mondays and Tuesdays are the busiest days, but I haven't had any issues waiting for equipment to become available. They have the essentials to get a great workout in and the customers seem to respect the weights. There's damaged padding on some of the benches but that doesnt really bother me. The hours are kinda annoying, especially on weekends. Beware they start to kick people out a few minutes before actual closing time and are kinda rude about it. I get it, I freaking hate closing stores too, but let us stay til closing time. It's a super convenient location with a great view of the street. Shout out to Jessica! Gone downhill in the past 6 months. The place is constantly filthy, especially the locker rooms. Equipment is broken for months at a time if not years for some machines. there is a lot of open space but hasn't been new or additional equipment in the 5+ years I've been a member. Shitty music constantly. Much of the equipment is old and cheap - we're not talking Hammer Strength or good equipment but low end equipment that needs updating. The prices have constantly gone up so where is the money going? The long time manager Andrew recently left - he was a stand up guy who ran it well but it's clearly a money grab now as prices are much higher and we're not getting any value for paying premium prices for a filthy dated gym. read more

Well what a nice gym experience! I'm from out of town and visited as a guest to someone, so can only speak so much about all of the offerings here, but I certainly liked it. My friend is a member and speaks all great things, too. What stuck out most to me was how spacioussss UFC was. So many machines, lots of weights and equipment, but not at all crowded. I spent my time on their stairmaster followed by the area with free-weights. We only had an hour to pop in, but I saw a dozen other things I wish I had time to use. The staff we ran into was super friendly, and from the sounds of it they offer personalized coaching and various dynamic group classes. Oh and five-stars alone just for having a fabulous sauna in the (clean & well-kept) locker rooms. I'd gladly return the next time I'm in town. read more

I tried UFC Gym for six months, overall for a low cost gym it isn't a bad option but it does have room to improve. The best part of the gym is the staff- they were always super engaging, happy, and made an effort to know members by name. This made the gym feel more like a community. The location is awesome in the heart of Wrigleyville with ample parking available in the garage (they may have started charging for this). The downside of the gym is it seems poorly maintained- much of the equipment seemed in disrepair: broken treadmills, rowers, bikes, a lot of the benches and seats' upholstery was split open, etc. The entire facility also felt like it could use a deep scrub / more rigorous cleaning. For example, when doing tire flips on the turf a cloud of dust and dirt would be kicked up- they either need to start to vacuum or purchase a better vacuum to keep the turf clean. It also seemed like they didn't have enough equipment for the members there- the benches were almost always full. People also didn't bother returning equipment to correct locations so it was a bit disorganized. If you're looking for an affordable gym and live in Wrigleyville this may be a great option, however, my six months made me realize I prefer to pay a premium for a cleaner / better maintained gym experience. read more

I really love this gym and it's a special place to me. It has everything equipment wise and the staff is amazing. I've been on and off with the gym for a few years now because of my schedule. I really wish they could stay open a little later, especially on weekends. I think the garage closes at the same time they do on weekdays so I can understand why it doesn't, but on weekends they're closed very early. The things that would make this gym a perfect 5 would be the hours and a more attention to detail on cleaning the showers. One last thing to consider is getting there when the Cubs have a game or if there's a bar crawl going on sucks, but that's out of their control. read more

This is the most UNKEPT gym I've ever been to...things are left in the locker room for days...no garbage cans..showers take 15 minutes to get hot...shower curtains ripped down or none at all...the treadmills are 1/2 out of use..they make terrible loud noises (they need to be adjusted)...so close together...overall dirty neglected operation read more

Unfortunately this place has gone really down hill in the 9 months. They simply do not have enough equipment or manpower to stay on top of their demand. They've got hundreds of people who go to this gym, and currently have 2 working elipicitals, 10 working treadmills, a few stair machines and that's it. Come 5:30pm, every cardio machine, save a few stair machines are taken, and by 6pm half of you are kicked off of the few good treadmills for their HIIT class to happen. The weight machines and free weights continue to be swamped. This summer they also inexplicably cancelled half of their evening classes, so the demand for these machines has only gone up but they've done nothing to accomodate that. On top of it, locker rooms continue to have issues with the lockers, the soap dispensers usually are empty except for one random one, and there's usually no paper towels. They also still haven't hired a female staff member to do the cleaning in the girls locker room, and just have a guy who stands at the entrance and yells in if everyone is okay with him coming in. There doesn't seem to be any effort to get more equipment or improve their facilities, but they did just buy a 500lb giant tire instead? Glad my annual "maitenance fees" are going to the right purchases. I'll continue my membership through this month, but then will cancel before January. It's not worth the money, and come January when all the New Years resolution people sign up, it will be insane. read more

Came here as part of a Yelp Event and had an incredible experience and workout. The staff was friendly, and the coaches for the workout were highly motivating and supportive. The workout was crafted for our group but mirrored similar workout offered at the gym. It was a HIIT workout that incorporated the treadmill, rower, dumbbell exercises, and timed body weight exercises. For around 50 minutes, I burned 500 calories! The gym is large and has a large selection of equipment, including multiple options for cardiovascular work, weights and weight machines, and a boxing studio/area. The gym hours are excellent - they open at 5 am, which is perfect for individuals with an early working day. They appear to have a wide variety of classes throughout the day everyday of the week, including MMA conditioning. Overall, I had a great workout, and I'm looking forward to coming back to try out more of their classes. read more

Welcoming front desk! Consistent problems with the lockers, and there is little to no space in the locker room. The sauna was pleasant. Lack of transparency in yoga styles. I come into restorative yoga expecting restorative yoga. Need more female representation for boxing coaches. Was charged $79 for a gym membership that included all classes, and apparent "student discount" that was shown to me on a piece of paper in handwriting.... Enjoyed my time there as there were many machines to choose from but with a Cubs game going on nearly every day, commute can be an issue. Great music! read more

I've been a member at this location since it first opened. Pros: New equipment. Usually not crowded. Squat racks & dumbells are plenty Cons: Locker room is way too small. Trainers should have their designated locker room as the Trainers/Instructors use same lockers as members & occupy them with a lock not leaving room for paying members. Not clean overall. Seems like the porters get hired/fired. Sanitation for after machine use is poor. Parking now is $15 added on top of your membership. TV in mens locker room hasn't worked since the gym opened. Treadmills are mediocre at best. read more

I don't often leave one star reviews, but my experience with UFC Gym Wrigleyville was awful. I signed up through their new member guys, Mike (who goes by "Tuna" on Facebook). The whole process was sketchy and unprofessional. They had a great deal/price, which was why I did it - but all I got was a sham and loss of money. They even signed my "contract" on my behalf which I am not sure is legal? Mike/Tuna also bullies people online and I saw multiple people have issues trying to cancel and/or still get billed while the new Clark gym opening was delayed. Buyer beware! read more

They are also flexible in working out an exercise routine the fits your style without overly exerting yourself. The exercise routines are customizable so you can do easy to cardio. I just had a great tour and meeting today 7/6/2020 with Mike & Gill from UFC-Wrigley Gill gave a wonderful tour, she has great energy and is very fun! I'm so excited to work with her and reach my goals! Mike was very helpful by giving me all the information I needed to get started and he gave me a body composition analysis which was wonderful to see that I'm very in reach with my goals. UFC gym Wrigleyville has an extremely wide variety of equipment, so whether you're a hard-core lifter or prefer a variety of machines and open space, they've got you covered! The staff is friendly and helpful, the management is down to earth and willing to find a way to accommodate anybody's and everybody's preferences and needs. I personally don't take classes but as a bystander, I see the same faces attending those - so they must be doing something very right since people keep on coming back, don't you think? The entire gym is very clean and well maintained, they provide towels which is something I love (hate the obligation of having to bring one). Love this gym. It's clean & bright. I joined specifically for strength training and it has all the equipment I need and lots of it. So spacious and I rarely if ever had to wait for any equipment or "work in a set with someone" or worse...wait for someone to finish texting to get off the Smith machine. LOL! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Andrew the General Manager is awesome! Especially with the world today, I really appreciate how clean this gym is. I always felt safe and comfortable there. This management is absolutely terrible and follows awful COVID safety for so many reasons. I was not going in person because of COVID for part of the winter. In January I felt comfortable going back, and the first time I walk in the door, the manager of this location is sitting at the front desk with no mask, talking to another employee with no mask. When they see me walk in and come within 6 feet of them (which is required to even enter the gym), they do not pull up their masks. They did not cover up until I said something, and I was met with sass. I left, called, and cancelled my membership on the spot. Then came the issue of my refund for the untouched personal training package I had purchased. During the time I was not going to the gym, my coach, Remy, was initially fired and then moved to the Yorktown location because of improper record keeping. For a number of clients, he put down that he saw them even though their sessions had been rescheduled, over charging them. First I had to battle for a refund at all, given that the package was untouched and they violated safety mandates. Then they informed me that Remy logged that I used 3 of the sessions in my package, which I did not. They had been scheduled but cancelled, with agreement from him I would not be charged, because I was postponing going to the gym for COVID purposes. Without any proof on my end that I did not attend, they would not refund those sessions, even though they have caught Remy doing this in the past. It took THREE MONTHS from the time I was confirmed that I would receive a refund to the time that a check was in the mail. Michael was very unpleasant to work with. I had to call him regularly for updates. He would tell me that he would have something for me on a certain date and I would call him days later having received nothing from him, just for him to still have nothing. One time he went so far as to promise and gave me "his word" something would be done, and SURPRISE, it was not. He kept wanting me to give him credit for helping me with a refund that he "did not have to give," but when you violate COVID safety and show blatant disregard for spreading the virus, you owe me a refund no exceptions. You do not get a pat on the back for that. read more

I think this is why they will not discuss plans over the phone , they are purposefully deceptive and want to pressure you into it at the gym. 2. Music is terrible and way too loud 3. It's alright for a place to workout. It is NOT the UFC training center. Don't get that confused. The staff is energized in an open bay with all the people working out. There's a juice bar but its never open. Okay positives. Don't let appearances fool you. There are these smaller women you think are little girls at first. They are trainers who torch you then say "okay warmup's over time for the workout" You feel it all. Humbled at the beginning Proud at the end. On some days there is this guy in the back room who crushed my whole thigh with one meaty hand... in the best way. He smooshed all my soreness out. I wonder if he's seeing anybody. Between those four people and the awesome food nearby it's worth a visit. just avoid cubs game days. No parking or walking space read more

I have never write a review before because I have a lot of patience (normally) but this Gym has to be the worst in regard of administration services. Don't get me wrong, the classes and the professors are great. But I have cancel my membership not less than 3 times (the last time I told then I was leaving the country, because I am not from USA) and every time they put it on "freeze" which only means that they are not going to charge me for 3 months and then start to charge again and again. ALL the reviews here are talking about the same so, no this is not an isolated event this is just how they "work". I love this gym! It's huge, clean, and had plenty of cardio and strength training equipment. The GM, Andrew, is super attentive. Before I bought more personal training, we went over the dates of my previous sessions to make sure everything was correct. I've been to gyms where they said I only had 3 training sessions left when I really had 6. My trainer, Gil, is amazing!!! She's professional, super sweet, and knows what she's doing. She sends out "homework" every week so I know what exercises to do when we don't work together. The rest of the staff is very cool. I really like the entire vibe of this gym. Oh...free parking for 2 hours in the parking garage attached. I recommend this gym to all my friends. read more

Going to UFC Wrigleyville was the BEST decision ever. I'm usually someone who prefers group classes and have historically been very intimidated by a more classic gym setting since I've never had any formal training on how to use the equipment. However, I couldn't have felt more comfortable here. When I first went to this gym, I was immediately blown away by how many option there were to choose from (cardio, weights, machines, turf, studios, etc.). Then, to make everything even better, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive; I shared my concerns about not feeling comfortable with the equipment and they connected me with a personal trainer who I ended up working with for many months and only stopped because I moved out of state. My trainer, Gill, was INCREDIBLE. She helped me learn and feel comfortable and I left every session feeling so good. 10/10! If you're looking for a gym in the wrigleyville/lakeview/LP area, I highly recommend checking this place out. read more

This gym has been absolutely amazing. Opening up during COVID-19 couldn't have been easy, but the staff made it happen and always have a positive attitude. I have been coming to this gym since July and have never had a negative experience. The cleaning measures are phenomenal and I consistently see employees going around and doing extra cleaning during my workouts. They have safe spacing between equipment, such as every-other-treadmill etc. I have worked with two trainers here as well, with positive results. I currently work with Ricky and he's been great. He is a super thorough trainer and incorporates nutrition into all of his training plans. I started coming to the gym to try and get stronger following a sexual assault and was open about how challenging and anxiety-provoking the gym can be for me. Ricky has been amazing at finding the balance between being gentle and pushing me to become the best version of myself. Unfortunately, I had unexpected foot surgery about 4 weeks ago. When I reached out to GM Mike, he had NO issue freezing my account and not charging me for my membership until I can get back into the gym to use it. Any problems with membership or fees from other reviewers, I'm assuming are because they did not TRY to communicate because Mike has been so helpful and saved me a bunch of money by helping me freeze my account while injured. I would recommend trying to talk to him again if you were having issues because they've been great with me and found me extra savings I wasn't even aware of. Finally, the UFC experience at this gym has been awesome across the board. Manager Andrew has been super motivational and really helpful with me bringing friends in to try out the gym. He has taken the time to sit and really discuss the best options for each of them personally and set them up with a complimentary trainer session with the best fit for them. His charged-"let's get this" attitude is a huge part of my daily motivation when I come to the gym. They've even been super accommodating with my service dog, Makani. I can't wait to finish recovering from surgery and get back into this gym. The entire staff is wonderful and a positive part of EVERY day I go there! read more

I sincerely don't want this in ANY to reflect poorly on the staff of this location. And the fitness center itself is IMO premium class in every way. BUT if you are going to make an operational change and change your hours of operations without ensuring your hours are UPDATED ahead of time it creates a poor experience for your guests that choose to go late, me at 7:40pm, because you have listed being open til 9:00pm. And then the response I get was "well yeah we just did made that decision a while ago" then it reflects poorly on the ultimate decision maker for the location. I will probably be the only leaving a review but I was not the only one frustrated with this as there were multiple members upset in the locker room commenting on this inconvenience. I traveled 45 minutes to workout for 15 minutes. Please be considerate and properly update your hours on Google! read more

This place is untrustworthy for cancellations. I signed up here back before they moved across from Wrigley Field, while they were still building the gym. Months go by, Covid hits, and no one can go to gyms, nor had the gym even been built yet. I tried to cancel with this gym 5 TIMES! I just got charged again, LITERALLY TODAY, months after I cancelled with them. Don't use this gym, they won't respect your cancellations or your refund requests. Try LA Fitness or Unanimous Boxing, much better solutions and professional customer service. read more

Went to this gym as a guest and I will never come back...the gloves they had for rental for boxing made my hands and arm stink even after washing it 5 times in a row. One particular gym member thought it was ok to leave his bag near the only ONE leg curl machine they had for more than 10+ minutes and just walk away and due to limited time with the parking, I decided to use the machine only for the member to return on my 1st set. I politely got off and offered to wipe it down but he shook his head and arms in disbelief and got angry. I do not recommend. read more

This is by far the best gym I've ever been a member of. Recently moved to Chicago and needed a local gym. I tried this location out and found it to be incredibly clean and the staff very friendly. They do a great job trying to build a community like feeling. I highly recommend this spot. Ask for Andrew and you'll get a great walkthrough and they do free assessments to help towards your growth.
