I am the son of a member here at UFCW Local 324. My dad has worked in a food processing plant for ten plus years, unionized and represented by this local. During that time, he has seen how this union consistently supports its members in the workplace through real action, not just talk. My partner has also been a member for about seven years now. He works at a grocery market, and I have seen how this union has benefited him, supported him, and fought for him and his coworkers. That support has made a noticeable difference in his job and in the way he is treated at work. The representatives, SPURs, and staff who work directly for the local have always been very nice, approachable, and willing to help whenever someone has a question or needs guidance. What also stands out to me is how active this local is beyond the workplace. They advocate for better working conditions, push proposals through city councils, and help shape state-level policies that benefit working families, not just those represented by this local or any other union or non-union workers. They also show up to support and stand with their community members. When Worked for Stater Bros this was my union and has been my father's for over 15 years. Being patient is something lost these days as we become more 'advanced' and though there have been moments I've had to wait for assistance they always took great care of my needs and answered all my questions/ concerns. I've called 4 times in 2 weeks regarding union dues with questions as not familiar with union job...every time they seem bothered being asked anything and like I should know this?? I get these are hard times for people but on hire several of my stores employees weren't Union, they got hired and started working, were in the middle of a pandemic, they can tell me all they want that they've sent letters but why let a bill accumulate?? If a worker starts why didn't you just call the store and tell us to make a payment early on instead of waiting until $900!!!! And why are you so rude!!!! "You gonna make a payment???" They expected me to make a payment of $300 when my rent is the next day I tried to negotiate for the next week but they told me their gonna call my store and tell them to take me off the schedule because I can't make a payment. Plus the attitude, the assumption I'm lying and yelling at me on the phone. I don't want to rely on this union, If im gonna get yelled at. We came to a somewhat negotiation but it's a little to late for me. They really don't care, all they want is your money. read more

Wish they are nicer when speaking to us . 90% of the employees working at Buena Park office are rude on the phone and they think they are beyond us. I like to remind them that they work for us ! Came here for a baby shower. Parking is plentiful. They rented a room up the stairs. It was huge! It also had a kitchen which worked out very well for them. The bathrooms were clean and that is always a plus! read more

UFCW 324 weekly 2.99% that does nothing but harbor lazy associates (currently one that refuses to lift anything, move anything, wear an adequate mask at work all off these necessary in his position, then show up for work to stand around to say he feels like he is going got throw up ??COVID??), inhibit the ability financially, and environmentally achieve true fairness of earnings. And PSA these degenerates of society how to act in a grocery store. Social distancing is serious when the whole meat department is out on testing, quarantine, or bullshit covid card sick calls to have holidays off. But 6 ft away doesn't mean, hey can I et one of those and stick your crotch in my face, or your arm pit, let me move, or at least answer, or why ask? I have to wear a mask, wash, or sanitize constantly, keep distance. Not sure why we pay dues if these people cant even get a website working. the website has been down for over a week and in this day and age you should have a sufficient website designer to fix this problem quick. Every time I call they have no answer or timeline. The union is wasting our dues away and Im not sure on what.
