Having an autistic toddler is like having a conjoined twin. I've called Olive Crest twice a week for over a year in desperation for help, and they promise to help only to ghost you! Months back, my health took a turn, and I literally begged Nicole months for help. The last three month my health has been at its worst. The hospital has tried to admit me countless times, but Nicole plays games only to ghost you. She only does her job when a third party contacts her about the concerns. Olive Crest has amazing host families, but the staffing and favoritism are killing the organization.

Some of the most loyal employees, who have (unfortunately) worked there for over a decade, aren't making more than thirteen dollars. Secondly, management needs to seriously enroll in leadership and emotional intelligence workshops. There is bullying of both of employees and the clients and the passive aggressiveness is extremely immature and happens often. And with that immaturity came an abuse of power. I was restricted from doing things that I was first WELCOMED to do until my supervisor was offended by something that I was unaware of. Sadly, the restriction only short changed the growth of the clients. Lastly, And probably the WORSE of them all is that there is a thick air of white supremacy at this company: everyone is not treated equally. Me (being a black woman) and another employee (who was white) both made the same mistake. She had a small conversation with the supervisor. While, as for me, not only did I have a sign a form saying that if it happens again there will be severe consequences, EVERYONE had to sign the same form. If it couldn't get any worse, one of the leading instructors during one of the meetings, who is an older white woman, made a statement saying how "people think that we all should be tolerate of blacks and hispanics." In short, DO NOT WORK HERE!
